32 An asset

Yuna flinched and Myalis shook her head to ensure she returned to her usual self. When she realized that she was back to being normal, she smiled at Yuna who left staring at her, wondering what was going on.

Myalis didn't know what was going on with her, but she knew what she was hearing and seeing was not something she had ever seen before and she knew it was real because she could feel it but more than a vision, it felt like a memory of some kind.

Myalis held onto her right arm, feeling a burning sensation coming from it, and knew she felt that because of all the fire she saw surrounding her within the vision she was seeing.

The girl was a bit worried because she didn't know whether or not she should talk about it to anyone or whether that was something she should have seen in the first place.

"Seraphina, what's wrong?" Yuna asked and Myalis looked at her before sighing.

"Uh... I just spaced out for a minute, I am sorry," She responded and Yuna's eyes widened when she saw how red a part of Myalis's right arm had become.

"What's wrong with you? Did you get burned? No, that was not there just now, Seraphina," Yuna said and Myalis gnashed her teeth before lowering her head since she didn't know how to answer the girl's question.

"I have no idea why it's like this, must be because of my ability to control the flames sometimes it can cause these things," She responded as the bell rang and they both looked back at the academy.

"We have to get that taken care of," Yuna said and Myalis patted her on her shoulder.

"It's okay, let's get to class, I will take care of it," She replied and Yuna sighed, then Myalis patted Aster on his head and he disappeared before they left, heading to their classrooms.

Upon arriving at Myalis's classroom, she saw that the teacher was already there and he looked at her and then at Yuna before smiling.

"I am here to choose a few students who will need to go through the test, most are nobles, the ones who want to become knights and a few other things relating to the kingdoms and their leaders, what do you two plan on doing?" He asked and Yuna and Myalis looked at each other.

"This test has to do with the mind, only you can see what hurts you the most, each of you will be given a separate room and the only way to fail the test is if whatever happened to you, controls and bothers you until today, is something you cannot get over quite easily, nobles and so on were selected because of the future so certain things won't affect them easily," He said and they looked at him.

"I don't plan on working under any of the royals, nor the emperor, I will become an adventurer, I will never work under any of them unless I need to, do you still think I should take the test?" Myalis asked and the teacher's eyes narrowed as he looked at her.

"No, you shouldn't... I will be taking the test though," Yuna responded and Myalis smiled at her and then patted the girl on the shoulder.

"Good luck with that, since our class teacher isn't here as yet, I will be heading to the nurse," Myalis said as she turned around and bumped into someone.

"Sorry," She said.

"You are?" The person asked and Myalis looked up and saw it was a woman.

"Seraphina, you are?" Myalis asked.

"She is the second head teacher," Yuna responded and Myalis sighed as the woman looked at her arm.

Myalis noticed that the woman's gaze on her was strong and wondered why she was looking at her that way.

"The burn on your arm is going away, you kids should prepare for your next class and be careful," She said before walking away. Myalis looked at her arm and the burned mark completely disappeared.

Myalis went back into her classroom and the teacher glanced at her as she walked past him and Yuna looked at him.

"You, are you going to try and awaken another talent?" He asked.

"I will try," She responded and he smiled.

"All right, that will be happening soon, now those who have to come and do the test, follow me," He said before leaving with Yuna and the other students while another teacher came into the class to teach them.

While Myalis was taking notes, she lowered her head thinking about why she couldn't take the same test as Yuna, that's because she couldn't risk anyone seeing who she was and she didn't want the past to come and hunt her present more than it already was but little did she know, she had many things she didn't know about herself.

Later that day, after the students got their lunch break, Myalis went into the woods not far from the academy after she finished eating her lunch to train.

She took out her sword and the wind beneath her feet began forming energy around her body and she took a deep breath before slashing a tree in half, then she heard someone clapping and her eyes widened as she turned around and saw it was the guy who wanted to recruit her.

"You are a beast tamer, aren't you?" He asked as she pointed her sword toward him.

"Why are you here?" She asked.

"You need to come with me, will you or will you not?" He asked.

She looked back at the academy and he glanced at her with his eyes narrowing.

"Fine, I will come with you, what do you want though?" She asked as he grabbed onto her arm and she looked at him.

"I have a feeling you'll be a great asset," He said, and her eyes narrowed as they vanished, then reappeared in a room full of people wearing masks on their faces, and her eyes widened as she observed how many there were.

"Where are we?" She inquired.

"One of our meeting places, you will be tested," He responded and she glanced at him while clenching her right fist as a few of the members began moving aside.

A strange guy began approaching her, his body glowing blue, and she could tell he was strong from the energy that was being emitted from his body.
