Chapter 30: Silver The Bully II

...........

"What a big wingless dummy lizard," There was a reason Silver called him a lizard. The alleged dragon doesn't have any wings, although there might be dragonic species out there with no wings.

Carvel could swear he heard those words be spoken in the blink of an eye as Silver let go of the wall, leaping towards him in the process.

The alleged dragon is certainly faster than him, and fighting him on the ground will allow him to change his course of action very quickly, in a way that Silver simply can not physically react to.

So Silver took advantage of the fact that the alleged dragon is wingless to leap towards him with his full force, meeting Carvel's punch with his shield, or rather, redirecting his momentum elsewhere.

Carvel really wanted to stop his punch, having a bad premonition on what Silver was cooking up, but he couldn't, not in time as Silver twisted his shield slightly.

And just like the previous times, Carvel found himself losing control of his body, feeling like his punch did nothing but slide off Silver's shield.

Lord Carvel found himself understandably baffled as Silver spun around before quickly grasping his wrist for releasing his poison wasn't just for show.

Before, he had to pretend against Sam, but now, he no longer has to, releasing all of his poison from every pore of his body, poison that's extremely corrosive.

And Silver felt it clearly, the excruciating pain as the skin and flesh on his body were being corroded, feeling extremely clearly due to his Silver Domain, time moving so slowly within it that he could almost feel the poison reaching his bones.

Yet despite all of that, Silver prevailed as he had a purpose he would achieve one way or another. In this case, he achieved this by redirecting all of Carvel's momentum toward spinning around with him before bringing down the edge of his shield directly on his head.

The edge of the shield fell directly on his head, specifically, just a little bit above Carvel's left ear, and even Sam who was far away could swear he heard something crack.

Silver who was the closest even felt the shivering of Carvel's head, as if his brain was going through a seizure, and if Carvel wished to counter Silver, he no longer could as he blacked out for a second.

The force of the punch was after all encapsulating all of Carvel's ridiculous strength, so enormous that it created a sound bomb.

Moreover, the force of the attack not only sent Carvel flying downwards through the already broken building, but it sent Silver with him as the latter was tightly clutching to his wrist.

And well, no missed opportunities pass by Silver's eyes as he spun again only to bring down his shield alongside, again hitting the same spot, the result of which was an even louder crack.

"Phew, I'm quite strong, aren't I?" Silver murmured as he took a deep breath, his hazmat suit mostly shreeded, and his bloody right knee on Carvel's neck.

Carvel was dazed, and all he could see was the blurry scene of Silver eyeing him with his gorgeous silver eyes, still untainted in contrast to the rest of his bloody body.

Regaining composure was certainly not an option as Carvel heard a thud before blacking out again, then another and another, the deafening sound of Silver's shield being brought upon his skull over and over again.

"Well, excuse my rudeness," Silver suddenly stopped, steeling his breathing as he continued, "I just had a lot on my mind recently, so I needed an avenue of release."

"Sam!" Silver took another deep breath as he stood up, looking over the seemingly broken Carvel. The head was the alleged dragon's weakspot as while his scales can block almost everything, what Silver did there was hit him so hard so as to cause his brain to shake within his skull.

"Thank you," Silver said as Sam appeared before him, carrying a duffel bag with him which he of course took before opening it.

From it, he took two silver knives, a test tube, and a syringe which seemed to be filled with some kind of silver fluid.

He took one of the silver knives and barely nailed it below a scale, doing the same with the other, his goal was of course to put pressure on the scale from both sides to take it out.

It wasn't that difficult considering Silver was certainly not physically weak and those knives are... Well, his special silver knives.

Gently he put the scale in a container before getting a little bit of Carvel's blood in the test tube. Lastly, he slightly opened Carvel's mouth before spewing in the silver liquid that was in the syringe.

"Alright, we're done here," Silver smiled as he put back all of his tools in the duffel back, seemingly intending to let Carvel live, "Hopefully, the Lizard grows wings."

The Silver liquid was the result of Umbrella's research after many arduous nights. It's basically an extremely downgraded Silver Cell, compromising of a very stable T virus and a downgraded New Silver Effect.

What Silver injected, very few can as the circumstances for doing so are simply too difficult to attain. After all, a requirement would be having the ability to control the Silver Effect.

Silver as he is today has to constantly micro-manage how the New Silver Effect within him works, or else the energy it creates would simply destroy him.

If something goes out of hand, he can do a full reset as he can control the New Silver Effect, but so far, no one around him can, thus the New Silver Effect had to be downgraded again to create only enough energy to sustain its cells.

Still, the New Silver Cells they created were exactly what's needed as they basically grant one immunity to the T virus, self-sufficiency, and the T virus' ability to evolve.

The only thing it can't grant is Silver's limitless energy and his surprising new physique, White Dwarf Cell Physiology, the result of so much energy being condensed in his cells, and his cells evolving to accommodate it.

"Are you afraid?" Silver asked as he changed to a new Hazmat suit on the spot before picking up his duffel bag, and heading in a certain direction.

"N... Yeah," Sam almost told a lie, but in the end, he didn't make that mistake. How could he not be afraid with Silver's previous showcase?

"Why?" Silver curiously asked.

"I don't really know?" Sam responded in a low tone.

"Hmm, you don't?" Silver raised a brow as he let out a smile, "Is it fear of the Unknown? You fear what you don't understand, and you don't understand me? You're in awe but also in fear of the Unknown?"

Sam's expression turned strange, feeling like his mind was being read like an open book, and no one likes their thoughts known to all, "I think so?" In fact, Silver described his thoughts to him better than he ever could.

"Well, just know that I also fear the Unknown just as I am in awe of it," Silver lightly shook his head as he murmured, "And know that I will likely answer any question of yours, so ask away."

Sam remained silent a while, but in the end, he relaxed, realizing that just as he has his fears and doubts, Silver does too, so he asked, "Why did you leave him alive?"

"I said it before, did I not?" Silver let out a chuckle before adding, "I want to see if the lizard can grow wings, and if there is something out there that would see value in the lizard."

"So a bait?" Sam was utterly confused, "For who?"

"Those who shall not be named," Calm took over Silver's face again as he uttered those words, and he wasn't joking. The mysteries surrounding the Game are too many to count, so he'd rather not bring them up just yet.
