8 Quiz time
There was an elevator behind the door, rin and Sebas entered the elevator,
"…..zwaap….."
it was locked, the door to the elevator.
Rin : hey, what the hell, no one said about on which floor his office was.
They were stuck in the elevator, rin was anxious, he thought that surely there is a monster inside. He was petrified thinking back at the movies he saw in his life about what happens to the characters who were stuck in this type of situation, even the little glimmer of hope seemed fading away. All he could he imagine was that they were kidnapped by the monster and he was going to eat them.
" ohh, god!! I am not tasty at all "
He looked towards sebas to get some reassurance and in return sebas shows an oblivious expression. Amidst the predicament, rin fortified his will.
" even I am not going to go down without giving a fight "
He started thrashing the panels of the elevator, looking for a way out of there. He then noticed there was a switch at the tip of the door of the elevator. There was no need for reasoning as it was the only option on which he could rely on so without any further delay he pressed the switch.
" ttttttt...….tttttdddiiing "
A digital screen appeared at the edge of the door. A message displayed on the screen. Next to the message there were 3 lines . A timer was set of 5mins. Rin read the message
"There was a monster under your bed you looked under and saw nothing. There was a monster in your closet you looked in and saw nothing. There was a monster in your toy chest you looked in there and saw nothing. What was the monster name? "
Rin : what is going on here, am I here to apply for the academy or to become a play thing for that monster.
He yelled loudly "I am not going to entertain you, mr. freak , do whatever you want.
Sebas considering the situation, placed his hand on rin's shoulder. " master rin, we are already in a dire situation and we shouldn't make it more horrible."
Sebas : what are you afraid of it's just a simple game finish and we will be free. You should reconsider about it as you are at utmost need to learn magic if you want to save your family.
Rin : looks like I never had a choice. Fine, it's just a riddle let's kick its ass.
He read it again memorizing the details, he giggled while reading the message
" what do you expect more from a monster, the whole riddle is revolving around monsters. "
"anyhow lets concentrate, a monster under my bed, then inside the closet and at last in my toy box, by the way I don't have one. "
analyzing the situation for a bit,
"is it a spider? what do you think sebas? "
sebas looked at rin with a regretful look. "It's unfortunate that I will be not participating in the game else you will not pass in this test, so you have to do it yourself.
Rin replied annoyingly "fine, I am more than enough to solve this tiny riddle. You just wait and watch." He was back again at the riddle, time left was 4 min. rin concentrated for a sec and soon enough he was satisfied with the answer.
" I got it, it's a spider. They live under the bed, not sure if the live in closet and toy box but I think that this is the answer...my my let's try out my luck. "
He typed the spider on the virtual keyboard displayed on the screen (….beep…..beep…..) . one of the lines disappeared from the screen.
" was it a wrong answer, I got two more chances to pass this test. Come on rin believe in yourself you can do it."
Sebas was going to say something "Ma..." when rin interrupted in between, " don't utter a word, let me concentrate, at least try to be quite if you are not going to help me."
Studying the situation sebas decided to not speak any more. 3 mins and two more chances were left, rin calmed his mind and started thinking thoroughly,
"I am sure it is some kind of animal or stress that eats away people life. What it could be is under the bed and inside the closet. Is it dirt? No it can't be that simple."
" Hello, mr. kagami, can you hear me, I will appreciate it if you give me some kind of hint"
There was no reply from the other side.
" surely, you jest, I am not the person whom you could defeat easily"
looking back at the question...….no reaction for a moment...yeah, I got it, how could I didn't notice it before, it was very easy. Darkness is a monster that is under the bed, closet and the toy box.Without a sec delay rin wrote the word darkness on the display board.
(...…beep.....beep.....)
" oh no, god no, this can't be happening again." Looking towards sebas with puppy eyes looking forward to receive some help."
Sebas : don't look at me like that, I can't help anymore even if I want as I was thinking of the same answer."
Rin thinking to himself "what a useless old rag he is.....just like me". He asked sebas with an anxious voice "what happens when we are unable to answer the question correctly. do you get to leave the academy without admission or ...…."
Sebas : I am extremely sorry but it's also my first time to be here, I have heard terrible rumours about how terrifying person is the head of this academy"
Rin quivering in fear said to sebas
" dd….don't listen to those rumours, they are often lies to hide something precious"
Looking at the timer sebas quickly replied to rin
"we shouldn't waste any more time on futile discussion as we don't have much time in our hand. only 59..….58..…57..…56…..55…..54 "
Rin broke in the counting
" whaaat are you doing"
Sebas : 53.....52...secs left master, we have to hurry.
Rin was dumbfounded, his brain was traumatized.....no ways left to get rid of the situation. He slapped himself to get back to his senses. rin raised his hands to make sebas realize to not make a noice. There was pin drop silence, rin was fully focused on the riddle.......
Few seconds passed, the time left was 15 sec. rin had a serious look on his face. The tension in the atmosphere was sky rocketing. Sebas decided to not disturb rin's concentration. Finally rin arrived at a conclusion. He raised his hand, slowly towards the screen, wrote something on the display. Sebas lifted his head to peek at the screen, he was baffled by seeing the answer which was written on the board.
