Veer had intentionally refrained from using his mana in Alyssa's presence, a strategic decision aimed at protecting her. His plan had been to draw the Whip Warrior away from Alyssa before eliminating him. However, his intentions were abruptly disrupted when Veer spotted a razor-sharp wind blade composed of mana hurtling toward him.

With lightning reflexes, Veer leaped aside, narrowly avoiding a direct hit, but the wind blade grazed his shoulder, drawing blood and causing him to wince. "Ugh," he grunted in pain.
