1 CH1: THREE PENDANTS.

Earth: 4044:

[Picture this.]

A wide and vast land with majestic cities floating over a suburban stretch of homes, businesses, and other facilities. In one of the majestic floating city, picture a massive, white building with a futuristic design fit for a highly advanced research facility. In that building, picture many rooms with hundreds of scientists panicking as they run all over the building aimlessly.

In this large facility, picture red lights flashing as loud sounds of sirens echo throughout the halls and shriek into the ears of those around. As the sirens continue raising an alarm, the scientists are being chased and captured by men in tailor, jet-black suits and covered their eyes with black shades, and for some reason, they all almost look identical.

This facility, known as the International Research Laboratory, IRL for short, was being attacked in the middle of the night by the infamous CRAIN. CRAIN, a notorious organization known by many but only accessed by few, the world's largest, deadliest, most powerful, manipulative, and controlling organization that didn't have a permanent location and yet they were in almost every corner of the world. Compared to the 21st century's Illuminati, the CRAIN weren't affiliated with spiritual mambo jumbo, but they were responsible for total world domination.

They owned cities, schools, homes, hospitals, factories, and hundreds of other facilities that provided or manufactured the basic needs humans needed to survive. Not only did they do that, they also had their puppets in every government across the planet, meaning they could start and stop wars with nothing but a single command. The CRAIN also owned the underground drug, weapon, and crystal cartels, and right now, they had only one more thing to capture before they went ahead with their plans to rule the world.

One scientist, a bald-headed man with black and white fades on the sides of his head, hid behind his cubicle as he held three pendants in his hand. One was blue, another red, and another yellow. The scientist sustained multiple cuts on his head and a bruised cheek and lying next to him was a CRAIN agent that was knocked out cold.

The scientist placed the pendants into his lab coat as he tied up the CRAIN agent and confiscated his gun-shaped weapon. Unlike the old, ancient guns that used bullets and gunpowder, this modern-day's guns were powered by crystals, the kind that was gotten from beasts.

-------------

Over three thousand years ago, a great nuclear explosion nearly wiped out the planet as we know it. More than eighty percent of humanity was killed and a few humans and animals were the lucky survivors. One thousand years passed and humanity rebuilt itself but due to the little traces of radiation floating around, humans were born with mutated variations, and this same thing applied to animals, except the animals evolved powerful crystals that acted as energy sources and defense mechanisms for them.

During the thousand-year time period of nothing but nuclear fires and whatnot, the minerals in caves and other places slowly formed into different types of crystals. After humanity was able to rebuild itself, they nearly discovered these crystals but unfortunately, another catastrophic event nearly broke out again and this time, all of humanity was about to go extinct, for good.

Thanks to the fireman, the world was saved after a few years of battles. During these wars, crystals were discovered and even proven to work stronger if they were put into beasts and humans. The fireman, Crystallians (men and women with crystal powers), and other mutants fought the war and won. However, the world wasn't at peace yet.

Even after the fireman's death, constant fights between mutants and normal humans would break out and this caused the infamous group known as CRAIN, to rise up and take a stand against mutants. A decision was made to give an entire continent to the mutant population while the remaining humans took the rest of the world but that didn't stop them from settling in other areas any way. Even though they had a whole continent for themselves, mutants still chose to live amongst the normals.

Years went by and as more information about crystals came in, more spectacular things would happen. The beasts of the Earth would evolve at quicker rates, thus creating different ranked beasts with different crystals that possessed different energy levels and skills.

These beasts were divided into eight different tiers: basic tier: general tier: intermediate tier: advanced tier: king tier: lord tier: demon tier and supreme tier. Basic tier beasts were the most common and weakest, with some being owned as pets. Supreme-tier beasts were the rarest and insanely difficult-to-kill beasts. So far, only two were discovered and their killers didn't live to witness the intense powers their crystals possessed

Those two crystals were used as energy sources that kept the only two floating cities in the world up in the air and they were known as Heavenly Cities. Only the filthy rich and influential lived there, making the people on the ground level hate and despise them.

The first Heavenly city's name was Neveah and the second one was Dream. Neveah was the richest and most powerful and right now, this was where the attack on IRL was taking place.

--------------------------

The scientist held the gun firmly in his hand as he made his way out of his cubicle and passed the chaos that was happening in the facility. Luckily, many scientists were running away for their lives so he managed to get to blend in and sneak into a restricted area. Unfortunately, as he got closer to where he wanted to go, he found five more CRAIN agents trying to break through the door.

Upon seeing the scientist, the CRAIN agents pursued him but the scientist already had a head start and was running for his dear life. The scientist mistakenly ran into a dead end that only had a large glass pane that showed a view of the city below him. He thought of running back but more CRAIN agents quickly surrounded him and aimed their weapons at him.

"Give it up. You're surrounded."

"Tell us now. Where are those mutant serums?"

"Mutant serums?"The scientist played dumb, "I know not of what you speak of."

"Don't play dumb, dipstick," One CRAIN agent punched the scientist to the ground. The poor man fell and the three pendants fell out from his lab coat. The CRAIN members nearly dashed for them but the scientist, out of instinct, grabbed the pendants, broke the glass pane, and held out the hand which carried the pendants

"One more step and you'll never see these again. They'll fall right into the ground-level cities and we all know how those people will fight to keep them from you, CRAIN"

"You're bluffing."

The scientist used three fingers and held all three pendants on them. He looked at all the CRAIN agents and frowned while saying, "Try me. One more step and I'll be forced to toss all of them away, so STAY BACK."

"There is no need to be hasty," A larger man in a black robe with golden trims walked up to the scientist with his arms behind his back. He had a neatly shaved head, a black square beard, and black shades that complimented his chestnut brown smooth skin. "Just give us those pendants and we'll be on our way. No one has to get hurt."

The scientist, now holding the pendants in two fingers, looked at the black robbed CRAIN agent and cursed while saying, "Do you think I'm stupid? The second I hand these pendants to you, you'll order your men to kill. Don't play dumb with me. I know how this works. No witnesses alive, remember? So, there's no fat chance you're getting these." He then carried all three in one finger as he stretched his arm even further.

At this point, the late-night breeze was blowing on all three pendants, making the CRAIN agents panic in fear, worrying that the pendants would easily get blown away.

"It's a shame...really." The black-robed man threw out a small chain with a triangular arrow head at the end toward the scientist. The scientist tightened his grip on the pendants, dodged the chain attack, and shot the black-robed man right in his face, leaving a nasty flesh wound that nearly took out his eye.

As soon as the black-robed man fell to the ground and wailed in pain, the other CRAIN agents opened heavy fire at the scientist.

With no choice left, he the scientist took in a deep breath and leaped out of the building. As he was falling from such a great height, he swung the pendants and threw them over the Heavenly city into the ground-level cities. Each one of them flew off in a different direction but he was glad that neither of them was going to land in the hands of the CRAIN.

"Whoever gets those pendants," The scientist said to himself, "put an end to CRAIN. Bring peace back between the humans and mutants. We cannot afford to fight amongst each other, not with what's coming for us." The scientist closed his eyes, smiled, and let out his last breath before his body came crushing into the ground, killing him on spot. The whole building was surrounded by CRAIN agents on the inside and out so when they saw the scientist's body fall, they made quick work to get rid of the body.

Meanwhile, the man with the black robe rushed out of the building with his hand covering his bloody, injured face. He yelled angrily and questioned why the other agents failed to find the pendants on the scientist's body. However, as they searched the scientist's corpse, they found nothing on him, making them come to the conclusion that he threw them to the ground cities.

"Sir, do you want us to go and look for them in the ground-level cities?"

"Leave it," He spoke with anger in his tone. "I'll meet up with the ground units and handle it. They'll find it pretty soon. Clean this and blame the break-in on some relevant thieves. These rich idiots will believe that."
