3 You're a demon

Denisa stares at Zanuel as he tries to speak to her, but he is not ready to talk, not even a single word.

"Why!?" She questions him, hoping for one reasonable answer, but no, he did not have a single answer. He stood by the bed, staring at her, frustrated, annoyed, and angry.

Fury grew in him, and the whole room filled with the cold breeze, sending shivers down Denisa's spine. She rubbed her arms, glaring at him.

Zanuel turns around and glances at Robert standing by the door, staring at him confused about his behaviour. In the past, he never got himself involved with any woman, let alone let her get away from her, and now he couldn't let the girl go. Why?

"I said no!" He says this and walks out of the room, and the door shut behind him.

Denisa rushed to the door and pulled the handle, trying to open the door, but she couldn't. She banged the door hard and screamed, but no one heard her cries.

She walks back and sits on the bed, worrying about Olivia and the servants, who will probably be dead if she doesn't show up before the wedding. This is why she never objected to the marriage she never wanted. She walks to the door again and bangs on it.

"Open the door, you red-eyed monster!" she screamed from behind the door. Zanuel stood by the door, listening to her.

Robert walked out of the locked room without a hindrance, without Denisa noticing him; she did not see him pass through the door either; he did not need to open the door.

"My Lord," he says, waiting for him. Zanuel was not ready to let her go, but he was aware she would do anything to leave.

"Why does she want to go?" He asks, and Robert glances at him, trying to understand what exactly was happening to him, but doesn't dare ask him a thing.

"My Lord, I heard her thoughts; she's worried about Olivia, and if she doesn't show up, then the woman will be killed along with all her servants." Robert reported everything but did not

say a word about showing up at the marriage.

Zanuel listens to him carefully and leaves without giving an order. He walks to the back of the house to the garden, and it looks the same as when he left, except there are more flowers now.

Robert watches Zanuel from afar as he walks into the garden. No one would believe he was in a coffin for over a millennium looking at him.

'Demons don't die, especially the older demons who were around from the start, Robert thought, looking at Zanuel, and in a split second, he vanished. Robert's eyes grew wide as he looked around, but he didn't catch him leaving.

"What are you doing?" Zanuel appeared in front of Denisa. He stares at her, trying to stop the bleeding from her palms.

"It's hurting," she whines, tears streaming down her eyes, but she quickly wiped the tears, and he moved closer to her and held her palms in his staring at her eyes.

"I will not let you go," he whispers, holding her palm with one hand and covering it with the other, but Denisa couldn't afford that.

"You wanted to come out, and you did; what more do you want from me?" She asks, worried about the people who will bear the consequences if she doesn't go back.

Zanuel takes a sharp breath, looking at her. "I did not call you." He was sure; he felt nothing while he was asleep in the coffin; the only thing he heard was the cry for help of a baby; after a few years, he stopped hearing that too.

"Then who?" Denisa asks the question, to which even Zanuel has no answer.

Zanuel loosens his grip on her palm, and the palm is healed. No scar, no bleeding. Denisa looked at him shocked, asking, Who is he?' Denisa wanted to ask him.

"Don't hurt yourself," he says, leaving the room with the door locked behind him. Robert was standing by the room, waiting for him, a little worried and nervous.

"What happened, Robert?" Zanuel walks away from the room; he couldn't let her listen to them.

"My Lord, the demons are coming," he reported, and a smirk formed on Zanuel's face as he listened to it; he didn't look shocked or worried by it.

"Let them come," Zanuel says, looking back at him. He has been in the coffin for over a millennium without using any power and is ready for anything. He is stronger than ever and can take on any number of demons.

"My Lord," Robert said, was not worried about Zanuel; he was more worried about another person present with them.

"What is it, Robert?" Zanuel looked at him, frustrated, as he hardly gets worried, and this was getting him frustrated.

"The Lady," he says, pointing his finger at the door. "Is it okay for the lady to be here?" he questions him.

Denisa can't be here; he can't let the demons see her; she is the person who let Zanuel out; her identity is still unclear; and mostly, he is confused about her and the things she is doing to him. He couldn't let her go, but he couldn't risk showing her to the demons either.

"Take her to my palace," Zanuel ordered Robert, and he looked at him delighted, as he got his first order after a millennium, and he couldn't be happy enough and rushed to take Denisa to the palace.

"My Lady," The voice echoed in the room. Denisa scanned the room, but no one was around her. She scanned the room again and still found no one.

"My Lady," the voice said, was loud and clear, loud enough to make her heart stop as she couldn't see the owner of the voice.

"Who are you? Show yourself," she asks in a trembling voice, scanning the room with her eyes growing wide in fear.

The room filled with an unfamiliar, strong smell, and a muscular man appeared in front of her, wearing armour.

"My Lady, I'm Robert," he introduces himself to her. Denisa stares at him blankly.

'An armour?' Denisa thought to herself and wondered if he was about to go to war. His eyes weren't red but blue like ocean water, and his gaze was warm as he looked at her.

"What do you want?" She inquires about him; she should have been intimidated, but she felt nothing looking at him.

"My Lord ordered me to take you to the palace," he replied, a smile forming over the corners of his lips.

Denisa narrowed her eyes, staring at him. "Lord?" she asked, narrowing her eyes, waiting for him to reply.

"The red-eyed monster," he whispers, trying his best not to let Zanuel hear him.

"Lord, do you serve him?" She walks back to the bed and settles down; she does not fear Robert.

"Yes, My lady," he replied, watching her moves.

"Why the palace, and whose palace?" She asked questions, trying to understand what was happening, and only one thing was sure: she wouldn't be able to leave easily.

"My Lord's palace," he says. He was able to hear her thoughts and knows every plan. "Is he a King?" Denisa tries to get all the information she can about running.

Robert smiles at her but doesn't say a word. He is able to understand why his lord is not ready to let her go: "I'm not allowed to tell you the details."

"Oh," Denisa said, aware it was not going to be that easy to know her opponent.

"If you allow my lady," Robert offered his hand for Denisa to hold on to. She looked at him confused by the gesture.

"Huh?" she says, looking at him, narrowing her eyes, not knowing what he meant by offering his hand.

"Trust me, My Lady," he says, stretching his hand and holding a smile over her face. She reluctantly holds his muscular arm, and they vanished in that very second.

Denisa's eyes shut open as she looked at the hall, thinking how they just vanished from the wooden room to the extremely extravagant palace. She scanned the hall, and she was sure everything was made of gold—the walls, the pillars.

"Yes, My Lady, the benches and chairs too," Robert says, staring at her. She looks at him puzzled.

"I hear thoughts, My Lady," he says, and Denisa doesn't say a word and scans the hall; everything looked exquisite. She walks to the chairs and tries to touch them, but soon the hall fills with the sound of the footsteps of people running, and she hurriedly runs back to Robert to hide behind him.

"They're the servants, My Lady; they are rushing to be here because they know we are here and they will be taking care of you." Robert explained it to her, and she heaved a sigh of relief.

The maids came running and stood in front of them, panting and trying to get their breathing normal.

"They're humans?" Denisa asks from behind a little too loudly, and everyone looks at him in question.

"Yes, My Lady," he says in a low voice, almost whispering to her, holding a smile over his face, and everyone around stares at each other with puzzled faces.

"Okay, then they won't kill me, right?" she asks, getting worried for her life.

No, they won't, My Lady; you can rest here; I have to go back to My Lord," he says, getting ready to leave.

Robert looks at the head maid and leaves Denisa in their care; she was left with the maids and servants, who didn't dare lift their heads and see her.

Denisa walks around the palace and sees the palace covered with flowers; it doesn't matter where she goes, the maids follow her as the shadow.

"I heard we have a guest; where is she? Take me to her." The palace wasn't soundproofed, but the voice was clear and could be heard even in the hallway.

"Who is that?" Denisa asks, looking at the maids and seeing their faces covered with worry and fear.

"My Lady, she is," the maid tries to tell her, but she can't bring herself to tell her who that was.

"She is?" Denisa tries to inquire, and as the guest the person is talking about has to be her, the maids stare at each other nervously, not knowing what to say: "She, she is-"

"There she is; you all can leave!" The voice echoed from across the hall, and the maids stood there without leaving Denisa alone, as Robert ordered them to do.

"I said leave," Caroline screamed, and everyone got started with her voice. She took a few steps away in fear, but she couldn't leave Denisa alone with her.

"LEAVE!" Caroline demanded, and her eyes turned red, threatening the maids, and they ran for their lives, leaving Densia.

"You're a demon," Denisa murmured, witnessing her red eyes.

Caroline gazed at Denisa, who didn't seem scared, while her nails grew immensely as she moved closer to her. She took a whiff, and her smell was intoxicating, making her lose her sense of judgement and forget whose guest she was.

"Yes, and right now, I want you." Denisa didn't understand what she meant by that, and before she could grasp the situation, Caroline's fangs were already on her neck, sucking the blood out of her body.
