Chapter Eighteen

Her hands move forward, the bed dips as she moves closer. Close enough now that her hand reaches out walking her index and middle finger up your bare stomach, choosing your belly button as the starting point as she begins to conquer you with her sex appeal, and that alluring aura that you’re madly intoxicated with.

“You are the one who fell asleep and just when it was starting to get good.” Your face flamed like the core of a burning star with embarrassment. Burying your face in the closest pillow you groan. In the midst of your awkwardness you blindly grab another pillow beside you and aimlessly throw it at Helena.

Refusing to lift your face from the safety of your pillow you didn’t hear a direct hit. You may have missed your mark and you began to wonder. The bed dipped again, all your senses on high alert, you can feel Helena right in front of you, the warmth from her breath tickling the knuckles on your hand as you keep the pillow pressed against your face. “Missed, you sill minx.”

“I’m sorry, I felt so energized that I didn’t realize my own exhaustion.” After the Admiral left you and Helena both jumped back into bed with the full intent of having sex. Problem was that despite your eagerness, and the way your body was alive and humming like a morning starling, you never expected a deep exhaustion to creep up on you in the throes of your love making. That in itself is embarrassing, and with Helena too?

Helena sidles up to you, her fingers warm against your burning skin as she brushes your hair away from your shoulder placing a delightful kiss on your shoulder, her lips parting from your skin, “That’s right, this would be your first experience with Nanites, right?”

Needing a distraction you suggest not keeping the Admiral waiting any longer. “We shouldn’t keep the Admiral waiting. I think she waited long enough, and doubt we’d have time to continue, that is if you even still wanted too.” Your voice felt small, you were afraid that maybe it was a one time deal, or that maybe you falsely remember that you both have the same encumbering feeling for each other. You tried to keep the worriedness out of your voice, but even your own ears cringed at the needy tone.

“Trust me, babe. I would wait an eternity if I was able to spend the night with you again, and I plan too. Unless you---” You throw the pillow down violently on your lap. “No!” You blurted out. Helena’s knowing smile stole your breath as you lean in to smooth your lips across hers. Like the last time, everything around you faded away. It was only her and you in this moment, despite your duties you found yourself willingly to ignore it all just to be here with Helena.

“Oh alright, fine!” Helena huffed good naturedly as she snatches her shirt off the floor. Standing up she started pulling on her pants and boots. Taking a moment you simply watched as she got dressed. Her golden hair waterfall down covering her profile, the brilliance of her blue eyes shone through the canopy of golden locks. Her profile was set in stone, she had an angular face with a small, but pert nose that was perfect for nuzzling you thought.

“To your earlier question, I think it has been my first Nanite experience.” Swinging your legs over the bed you grab your pants and tank top off the floor. “I’ve had accidents and casts and such, but nanites weren’t a thing back then. At the time it was simply a groundbreaking concept that took the medical field by storm. Paved away for a new form of war mongering, healed troops faster, kept the blood toll high.”

Helena tips your chin up with a finger under your chin, her eyes latch onto yours, “And I thank the Moons for it. Look At your now?” Helena waves her hands gesturing at you from head to foot. “ Your back and ready to get down and greasy with your precious machinery.”

Words grease and Helena together had raunchy thoughts spiraling through your head. You blow out a breath and move towards the small shower. “Give me a minute, ok?” Helena’s eyes dart nervously to yours. You smile to reassure her and put her at ease. She must still be worried about your condition, you’ll admit you do still feel groggy but you chalk that up to that you're still waking from your slumber.

“I stink and I need a shower.” Your nose crinkles in distaste as you act to sniff yourself. “Why didn’t you tell me I smell like a sterile hospital!?” You groan with mild irritation.

“I honestly didn’t notice. I was too focused on you and how your body responds to everyone of my whims.” Apparently Helena is an expert in seducing as well as her words sucked the oxygen from your lungs, your mouth hanging open, “Oh…” Was the only word you could formulate.

Unsure on how to respond and feeling butterflies start to dance at Helena’s words, you escape into the cold shower and quickly take a cold one. It was very much needed, as the water hit your skin like ice shards. The cold water formed goosebumps on your burning skin, a shiver coursing through your body as you melded into the cooling water, and your own dark carnal thoughts.

Helena took a shower after you and now you both are heading towards the Admiral’s quarters. On Titanus the Admiral’s quarters are near the bridge. You’re slowly remembering the layout of the ship, though some pieces of the map are still missing in your head. The cafeteria isn’t far from the Living sector and training facilities. Below are the gunships and dropships for terrain landing and bombarding for tactical strikes. That’s where teams gear up with weapons and armor and prepare for a fight. Towards the center and rear of the ship are mostly the R&D facilities as well as makeshift farms to avoid having to run out of food with the long space treks the Titanus goes on. Far easier than having to rely on resupplying from Planets that may or may not be peaceful. Despite the coalition treaty, there are many that are ‘Allies’ yet act and regard the coalition differently. Maybe it’s the cultures and species but you’ve always figured if you were all on the same team and fighting for the same goal, peace through the galaxy that there would be more acceptance. After joining the war you realized that acceptance is earned not given because of some peace accord.

“What do you think she wants to talk about?” You ask with a curious whistle.

“I’ve got one guess. Actually there’s a few things you’ll need to catch up on.” Helena answers. Your footsteps echoed across the mirror like floor, your reflections following along like phantoms.

“Ok, so shoot. What are we looking at?” She looks down at you and shakes her head solemnly.

“I honestly don’t have a clue. The cube we brought back,” She smiles at you. “Thanks to you, that is, has baffled so far everyone. Our scientists can’t decipher it and can’t pinpoint its purpose. We have no idea on what it is or what it does, nor where it came from.”
