14 The Foundations of the Future

"This is my limit..." Thorian murmured upon realizing that he had reached his limit, so he stopped halfway through the creation of this city, where he had focused on creating streets with crystal-clear water on both sides, special lakes where fish could be bred, and divided plots where houses could be built.

Meanwhile, all the other people who had been focused on raising houses had been creating the island's walls separately, which would serve to protect the city from invaders in a hypothetical case if they breached the walls.

Since it was nighttime, everyone was more powerful, so because of this, they were able to make significant progress, completing the island's outer walls and making significant progress on the four walls away from the island that would be a solid defense point that could not be breached.

Watching from the ice castle the creation of this new city, Thorian felt a kind of achievement for everything he had been achieving and resolved that this was just the beginning.

The concerning aspect of the location they were in was the lack of food from the land; they were at the South Pole, so they had very few possibilities of finding a way to create food for themselves.

Although they could eat fish because of how easily they obtained it, they needed to establish a trade line with the islands further south, where there were inhabitants who would be happy to help them.

But before that, Thorian should eliminate some of the nearby colonies, rid those islands of the danger of those enemies, and make sure to maintain control of their own seas.

"There are ways to cultivate some vegetables, but it will take time to make this place our home; we will also have to keep the movements of this place very small to avoid drawing attention." Thorian thought, watching how things were slowly being built for people to live in.

This project, which challenges the climatic conditions at one of the most extreme points on the planet, aims to develop an alternative to meet the needs of those living in remote areas where resources are scarce.

"Sir, the primary resources have been unloaded, so the journeys will begin momentarily." Brad informed Thorian of this, who simply nodded.

There was no way to stop now; what he wanted was to prepare the war council room where he would create the map of the North Pole involving both the south and some of the islands beyond the south with which he could trade.

He knew exactly where the Fire Nation colonies were smuggling, so before anything else, he needed to have a safe sea and pass completely unnoticed.

"It will take a few years to convince those large villages to accept a hierarchy to form a nation." Thorian needed a lot of time to negotiate with those villages.

He was aware that the southern villages separated from the north because of their ideals and the equality they wanted to achieve. But after the war, all the waterbending masters had been captured by the Water Nation.

To recover those waterbending masters, what Thorian would do is capture firebending masters, and when the number is large enough, offer a fair exchange of prisoners of war.

This would bring many problems, but it is the only way they can recover the waterbending masters who are being held captive.

There was an annoying base to the south that they should eliminate, but the first thing now was to effectively create these submarines and slowly increase the power of the Southern Water Nation fleet.

Additionally, Thorian would soon take care of establishing a secret alliance with Kyoshi Island, who could help them with what they needed. Furthermore, they could themselves be their trading channel.

Watching as things brought by the cruisers were unloaded, Thorian, once he had rested, began to wave his hands back and forth, reducing the stormy weather in that place.

As he waved his hands, a powerful wave of cold headed towards the other walls, increasing their density and height.

"We will at most manage to stay hidden for another year before being attacked by the Fire Nation, but if I use the previous refuge as a prisoner exchange point, that could be the great battle." Thorian murmured, imagining over and over what a prisoner exchange would be like.

He didn't know how much the Fire Nation loved their soldiers; perhaps they would be rejected on the first attempt at exchange, so he must seize that opportunity and bring back powerful warriors who would serve him in his fight.

Once he had the waterbending warriors back, he would strategically attack one of the colonies, eliminating any enemy and using innocent families to his advantage.

He didn't want to completely destroy the Fire Nation colony because it would serve as an outpost in their war.

Now, being less than fifteen years old, he should focus on his techniques and improving the qualities of his body. "Once this place is up and running, I must go to that island." Thorian concluded.
