13 The Creation of a Nation

"Attention, you are the best the South has to defend our lands and seas, so you must do what you have to do to keep this place safe." Thorian stood before a thousand warriors trained for four years to confront the Fire Nation masters.

How has something like this been achieved? Thorian was a firebending master, although he didn't like to use that ability because he couldn't control the immense power of his flames every time he used it. But on the occasions he did, everyone knew what needed to be done to defend themselves from the flames.

Looking at all the masked warriors in silence, Thorian, as the one who made all this possible, shouted, "We are getting closer to reclaiming those who have been taken from us. Today we will take a big step and establish a hierarchical dominance where one will rule the Southern nation to significantly improve our progress towards freedom."

"Auu! Auu! Auu!"

All the warriors were thrilled to hear this; the time had finally come to create their own unique city, and they would stop hiding from the enemy.

To achieve that, they would settle as deeply as possible at the South Pole, establishing advanced bases where their main fleet would serve as a barrier to keep their seas protected.

And now that all this would be possible, needless to say, they were excited. Therefore, everyone boarded the cruisers and prepared to depart for the chosen location.

Meanwhile, Thorian mounted his gryphon and shouted, "For our freedom, we will kill whoever is necessary. Follow me."

"Ahhhhhh!"

Everyone began to run towards the cruisers; at this moment, fifteen of them were put into operation, and the flags of their nation began to wave in the wind. In just a few moments, the fleet they had managed to build was fully operational, heading towards the place where they would build their kingdom.

On the main cruiser now stood Thorian; after surveying the surroundings with Doki, he found no enemy traces, so he went down to conserve energy.

"Sir, everything is proceeding without any problems."

Thorian's gaze fixed on his right hand. He was directing the fleet towards the target and was one of the most powerful warriors he had managed to train so far; his name was Brad.

"Keep everything going this way; it's night, so there shouldn't be any problems, but if anyone spots an enemy, don't forget to report it immediately. The Fire Nation must not discover our current power, not until the submarines are operational."

Thorian walked to the chair specially prepared for him and sat down without saying another word. All the logistics personnel and those operating the cruisers were not warriors, but their work was more than efficient in handling these warships.

Knowing they would be far from the target, this would take a little time, so everyone was resting while a small group remained alert.

The Southern Paradise was a strategic location that had been taken into account to know where they would establish themselves definitively. Only then could they continue advancing without any problems, safely knowing they would not leave that place afterward.

The number of inhabitants increased day by day; many decided to move with them for protection, and others for a special purpose. And this would lead a village to join them definitively, dramatically increasing their numbers.

Darío walked up to where Thorian was and said, "This is my latest model of catapults. Although it's an ancient weapon, instead of using regular ice balls, we could improve the projectiles and make ice balls with some kind of cold mist that freezes everything around them."

Looking at this weapon that Darío had created, Thorian believed it was perfect for those who were not very skilled in mastering ice arts, so knowing that the weapons could make those people useful in a war, he nodded.

"What would be the range?" Thorian furrowed his brows, wanting to know that information.

Darío thought for a moment and said, "It depends on the design; if we use them defensively, perhaps a kilometer at a height of eleven hundred feet."

"Send it to the designers; we could use them defensively on the wall we'll build when we reach our destination." Thorian said he was quite interested in this catapult with special projectiles.

A few hours later, following a specially designed route to not take longer than necessary, Thorian mounted his Gryphon and looked along the island they would choose to establish their reign.

In the center was an island; further away were two large mountains that would be joined by a great ice wall, keeping the enemy fleet truly away from the main city.

This was planned in such a way that if they somehow took the wall, the city would not be in danger, as it would have an extra wall to defend itself.

To increase security, they would create more artificial mountains to continue building the great wall and have the gigantic island completely guarded. Since they didn't have large numbers, they would need to play with the perspective of the terrain and be inaccessible to some of them.
