24 Impact

"I can't believe it. Is that the Water Nation's fleet?"

"There are more than we thought."

Vilgax watched as those cruisers were all that had disappeared in this sea, and he couldn't imagine that all of them were in the hands of the enemy. "United, strong, and clever, I suppose it's all thanks to that man."

As the fleets drew closer to each other, everyone watched as several figures extended their hands towards the water, causing it to freeze to a great extent.

Thorian, who had been observing much of the frozen sea dividing both fleets, leaped onto the ice, making his way towards the front of the allied fleet and raising his sword towards the general of the enemy nation.

At the other end of the enemy fleet, where the ice had also reached, Vilgax leaped from one of the cruisers and walked step by step towards where Thorian stood.

"Many say that after death there is nothing; there are limits to how much an impoverished person can resist. Don't you think you should surrender before I massacre you all?"

"I wonder where your confidence comes from, but knowing you're a stupid, arrogant old man, I can imagine the answer," Thorian replied coldly, knowing he wouldn't move from this spot until he killed the man who had murdered his mother. He continued, "Have you brought the prisoners from the Water Nation?"

Vilgax glanced at the masked man who seemed to be the leader of all these waterbending masters and nodded. "We've brought all the prisoners taken from the South, but we won't release them until you show us survivors from the Fire Nation."

Thorian nodded and raised his hand, making circles with his finger. Instantly, a large row of prisoners in Fire Nation uniforms could be seen descending, and Vilgax also gave a signal.

"Prisoner of war for prisoner of war, we just need to make sure the enemy isn't among those ranks," Thorian said, never taking his eyes off the man before him.

"I'm curious; what do you think will happen once the prisoners of war have been exchanged?" Vilgax asked, looking at Thorian, who was only a few meters away. "Your people have always been weak; you all had the chance to live with your heads bowed, but you wasted it."

Thorian watched as hundreds of prisoners of war were exchanged, and as time passed, these prisoners swelled to thousands, which was truly terrifying.

Each of the prisoners of war was very thin; they all received water as soon as they arrived with the allies and were healed of some external wounds they had.

"They're all going to die as soon as the prisoners from each side reach their places, but you know what's more fun? Killing you in front of those who consider you their leader," Vilgax said, looking at Thorian, who only watched as the prisoners approached a safe place.

Thorian looked at Vilgax and said, "I'll kill you in front of your warriors, but before that, I want to ask you a question. Do you think we're foolish enough to think of facing the Fire Nation directly?"

"What do you mean?"

"I wonder how the colony you come from is doing right now. Surely many will die there, and those who are not warriors will be our prisoners. Tell me, will your soldiers keep fighting if I have a sword pointed at the necks of their loved ones?" Thorian slowly unsheathed his sword under the gaze of everyone.

Some firebending masters disembarked from the cruisers and stepped onto the ice; in response, numerous icebending masters descended to support Thorian, who seemed very interested in confronting the enemy general.

"Will you let them interrupt our fun?"

Vilgax looked at his soldiers and raised his hand. He wanted to kill Thorian with his own hands before massacring all the waterbending masters they had released.

On the other hand, Thorian wanted the same, so as soon as the prisoners reached safe places, he waved his sword, and a stream of ice flew directly towards Vilgax.

Boom!

In an instant, a great explosion occurred when fire and ice collided simultaneously. All eyes were focused on the battle between their respective leaders, hoping that one could eliminate the other.
