32 Genocide

Southern Colony of the Fire Nation.

"That boat, it's better to stay away or it will be attacked."

When the soldiers saw a huge, abandoned wooden boat, their first intention was to attack. However, after much consideration, it was decided to send someone in a boat to check the contents.

As soon as the soldiers climbed aboard the boat and saw what was inside, they all turned their heads in horror with pale expressions.

Some vomited, while those who endured seeing this scene took one of the helmets from among all the frozen heads in the boat. When he looked at the design, he said, "They come from the South. The troops sent to wipe out the villages have been exterminated."

"Inform the commander of this immediately, reinforce the defenses, and send signals to the cruisers in the seas right now."

"Understood, sir!"

Looking at those hundreds of headless bodies, the man who issued the orders was truly terrified. Whoever could do this would definitely come for them, and they had to be prepared for that.

...

"Have you heard the rumors that have spread to the other islands?"

Suki looked at her mother and asked, "About the Fire Nation being expelled from the Southern Seas and their colony being destroyed?"

"They have killed all the prisoners of war, and their heads have been sent to other distant colonies. This will unleash a genocide for everyone, especially those who break the rules or get involved in this war," said Yukari, looking at her daughter, who didn't seem concerned about these events.

But she had a better understanding and knew that it was the first time in a hundred years that the South had won a major war. This would not only shift the focus of the war but also announce that a powerful warrior had been born in the South, which would intimidate the Fire Nation.

"Will that affect us?" Suki really understood her mother's fear but didn't know to what extent they would be affected by the protection of the Water Nation, which seemed more powerful than ever.

"There are two options: they attack with all they have or wait for orders. The Fire Nation must be confused. How did the Water Nation gain so much power as to eliminate an entire fleet? They will try to figure out the power they have and consider a new invasion."

Suki, who was conversing with her mother, noticed something, and after saying goodbye, she walked towards a hut that was farther away from the village. Without anyone seeing her, she entered and looked at the man lying on a straw bed.

"He hasn't woken up yet; he should be awake by now." Suki looked at Thorian, who had been brought to this village after yesterday's fight.

Thorian was currently recovering, although his injuries were not so severe; what really affected him was the abuse of power he had committed, and that's what he was truly recovering from.

Of course, his wounds were serious, but not enough to worry about.

Taking a tray of water, Suki wanted to change Thorian's bandage; there was blood on it, and she preferred to heal him now rather than risk his wounds getting infected.

She did all of this alone because her mother didn't want anyone to know that Thorian was on the island until the Water Nation sent someone for him, and all of this was because if the enemy found out before the allies, they would be attacked.

During all this time, Suki felt very drawn to Thorian, not in the way many are attracted to a man but because she sympathized a lot with the suffering he tried to hide from others.

Unlike many in the village, Suki shared the same vision as Thorian, and if she didn't have to protect this village, she would make sure to help everyone in the world as much as possible, regardless of their origin.

She didn't agree with the killings, but she also couldn't speak out because, in this war, Suki had not participated and didn't feel the same desire for revenge as other people.

Not understanding this big difference, the only thing she could do was somehow understand Thorian more, so that's the first thing she would do when he woke up.

When Suki changed the bandage, she looked at Thorian's other wounds and, just out of curiosity, lightly touched them, feeling the strong muscles in his body. Suki's gaze became even more curious.

But the moment Thorian instinctively moved an arm, she backed away, carefully checking if he had not woken up yet, and knowing that he was still asleep, she sighed in relief.

With nothing else to do, Suki preferred to leave because she was doing improper things with Thorian while he was asleep; it would be better to do it when he was awake.
