Chapter 13: Begging of a Journey

After checking my clothes I grabbed the rolled map opening it.

I saw the whole Earth Nation with cities and rodes leading to them.

Looking at the map Old Mo told me that I would be leaving tomorrow morning.

"Explore the riches that the world has to offer and gain the experience you need to defeat anyone."

As Old Mo began telling me what to watch out for beautiful women, people asking for help by the side of the road, and Fire Nation civilians.

Asking why?

"women will manipulate your heart and make you lose focus of your goal of all the people to watch out for women are the most dangerous of the list"

"people asking for help on the side of the road may seem helpless but they could have a group of people with them hiding make sure you never drop your guard around them."

"Finally, Fire Nation people though they may seem like regular civilians they will report you to the Fire Nation soldiers, and a chased will soon begin."

Understanding the last two options but not the first I wondered if that happened to Old Mo in the past.

Putting it to the side of my mind looking at Old Mo I began to reminisce about all my times with Old Mo.

Being good or bad Knowing I would miss his taunts and arguing with him about his training methods.

I soon started to worry about Old Mo being alone and isolated in a forest far from civilization.

Seeing the worried look on my face Old Mo said don't worry about me I will be leaving this place and going to my house I have in the capital.

Knowing that he had a house in the capital and would be leaving from here put me at ease.

But rage started began to well up inside of me as I rush at Old Mo holding him by the collar as I quested him.

"you had a house the whole time but did not mention it or take me with you to see it when I was a kid"

His reply.

"Well it never came up and you never asked so I saw no need to bring it up and why I never took you was because I was training you to survive on your own one day."

"you know how uncomfortable it gets in the cave at times Old man".

Laughing it off Old Man told me it was just part of my training regiment.

Calming down we prepared dinner and enjoyed our last night in the cave I called home hoping that one day I would come back.

Before falling asleep I decided to say my fair well to Wu.

Beginning to meditate I soon was in the spirit realm running my fastest to Wu's cave.

Arriving at Wu's wondering why I rushed over here I began explaining that I would be leaving the forest and won't return for a while.

Hearing my words Wu gave me some of his medicine for my journey I thanked him and hugged him he then sent me back.

Seeing that it was still night I fell asleep getting a few hours of rest that I could.

Becoming morning me and Old Mo packed our things.

As we finished we soon left the cave as I shut the entrance.

As we traveled to the edge of the forest we were faced with a fork in the road Old Mo told me to take a right as he took the left saying our goodbyes to one another.

Dhara wrapped around Old Mo one last time and tightened her grip.

We both looked back for once while until we could not see Old Mo.

Opening the map I began seeing the road where we were on.

Seeing that the closes town would be a few days away began following the road.

During the time we saw mountains and trees but no people.

Night soon came as we set up camp and began eating I started to sense our surroundings.

Beginning to focus I saw something coming from the bushes.

Whistling at Dhara getting her attention her hair began to stand like a cat.

As we began getting ready to fight soon a man carrying cabbages in his backpack.

Staring at the man as he saw us he began to smile.

Wondering why he was out of breath three wolves came right behind him as he hide behind us.

Telling us to help him seeing that he was actually in need of help.

Sighing Dhara and I began to attack the wolves as I was taking care of two and Dhara with the last one.

I began to surround my tips with earth and Dhara screeching at the wolves showing her sharp teeth.

As we both lunged at each other I kicked one of the wolves in the stomach sending it a few feet away.

Doing this Dhara dug underground popping behind her appointment biting the ankle and scratching the wolf's back.

Seeing that Dhara could handle herself I went back to the wolf as it was about to bite me I grabbed its upper and lower jaw and twisted its head killing it.

After killing one of the wolves the other two decided to run away as one of the left a blood trail after its fight with Dhara.

Taking care of the wolves the man behind us began to thank us both for saving him.

He then handed us cabbages as an appreciation for saving him.

I asked for his name "it's James Sie" I am a rising Cabbage Merchant around the Earth Nation traveling from place to place selling my goods.

Wondering why he is by himself during his travel.

"you see I could not afford trained guards during my travel having no choice I had to travel to make a living".

I asked him where he was heading to he told me to a town not far away from here only a day away.

Hearing that we would be heading in the same direction I offered to tag along with him making sure he arrived safely.

After hearing I would be his guard he began bowing his head in thanks again.

I introduced my selfie as Jack Lee and the animal that helped me is Dhara a mini banger mole.

Hearing that Dhara is a mini badger mole, James' eyes widened, and his mouth began to gap.

As he just stared at Dhara not letting his eyes go off her Dhara began to wrap around me and began to hiss at James.

Putting my hand on her head trying to calm her down before she attacked James.

Knowing that the mini badger mole is a highly demanded beast pet I decided to let James just look at Dhara.

As night came and went we began our journey to the town.

Talking all the way over there hearing his bad luck when traveling with his goods.

From every cart, he had either been destroyed or sunk in a lack by an outside force.

Having a good laugh Dhara also began to lower her guard a bit but was still wary of James.

Seeing a sign saying "Welcome to Bi village" seeing we both became excited.
