14 Chapter 14

Raoh half-closed his eyes as he leaned on the earth wall behind him while staring at the benders forward. He could feel their fighting spirit, and he could tell their power. Compared to the last Earthbender he had fought, they were weaker. However, they seemed to work together so well that they can produce a higher level of power.

Raoh held his Jian sword and flipped it. 'They have six eyes, six ears, and they work together. Breaking their defence and attack will be hard.'

Raoh flipped up and jumped over the wall. The next second, a hole appeared in his original spot, threatening to eat him alive. Raoh used Shave and vanished. The three benders looked left and right, their guards up. In no time, one of them spotted him, Raoh was on the top of the roof of one of the houses. His speed was impressive to climb 4 stories of buildings like that. They squatted, and some rocks were lifted from the ground floating. They then started waving their arms left and right. The rocks started heading at Raoh at high speed, and Raoh sneered at them.

He waved his sword a couple of times, and he cut the rocks. "You guys aren't so bad. But it's an unfair battle for me to fight three benders at the same time without the power of my own. So, Adios muchachos."

Although he spoke Spanish to them, a weird language, they seemed to understand the meaning behind his words.

*Swish*

Raoh vanished in thin air.

The benders looked left and right, not finding a trace of him.

After a few seconds, they understood.

He ran away.

"He escaped."

"It seems so."

"There is no point staying here." One of them sighed in relief. They then turned to June, who was busy dealing with two guys.

June realised what happened too, and she screamed, lifting her head high. "Fuck you for leaving me alone!"

The Earthbenders lowered their heads and started running at June, who growled in their direction.

In the next second, the Earthbenders lower half continued the run while their upper halves fell to the ground. Their legs fell after them.

They didn't seem to progress on what happened, yet. But that changed once they saw a familiar shadow overwhelming them. The moon made it sure to be clear to see.

Raoh walked forward, in front of them.

"Did you really believe that I escaped?" He said in a mocking voice.

In his previous life, Raoh, when he was Josh, was very tricky when fighting his opponents. He never fought a fair battle, and the last foe he remembers was Crocodile. Raoh could remember more, but he didn't due to emotional matters.

He bent over, and his face appeared in front of the benders. He smiled at their faces that were losing life before he started forward. June seemed to deal with a good amount of benders on her own, and she even took three riders on her own, but now she is busy with two.

Using Shave again, Raoh vanished from his place and appeared behind one of the riders. He cut him, before switching his attention to the animal, and he waved his Jian, cutting the head. June found her comfort then, and she wrapped her whip against the second rider, lifting him high and throwing him away. Nyla then dashed at the other animal and took it down in one hit.

Raoh jumped off the headless animal before it fell, and he sighed. "Well, that's taken longer than I have expected. The benders are surely hard to deal with sometimes."

June was looking behind him. She wasn't imitated by the scene of the blood.

"You surely deserve your name, The Ripper."

"It's not my fault that people are easy to cut." Raoh walked a few steps away from her and picked at the sheath. He waved the sword, shaking the blood away, and sheathed it. "Thanks for this sword."

"Just stole it. No need to thank me."

"You are generous—"

"You need to pay me." She said, extending her hand and smirking.

"Yeah. I figured you would say that." He reached behind his back and threw a sack at her.

Raoh didn't feel that he lost something. After all, it was easy money.

"You don't seem to care about money," June said as she held the sack. She shook it, and her heart warmed once she heard the coins.

"It's easy to gain. All I have to do is to gamble a bit, and my gains will double." Raoh had been wise during his stay in this city. One day double his money, the other triple, sometimes pretend to lose before a strong comeback, and so.

She smiled at him. "Well, it was nice working with you. But what will you do, now that your bounty will go higher? The Fire Nation will chase you after this … this…" she was trying to find a good word to describe the scene in front of her.

"Blood bath… Yeah. I guess I will be wanted. Want to try to get me?"

"And lose my money. No!" June shook her head before she smiled at him. "Guess I was lucky to get easy with it once."

"It's all because I like… Nyla." Raoh said as he walked forward and extended his hand. Nyla took its head back.

"Come on. You can't stay angry because I whipped your nose… come on…" Raoh said, but Nyla just roared at him.

"She is still angry at you." June laughed. "But seriously, what are you going to do."

"I don't know, I may move tomorrow, maybe become a mercenary." Raoh thought of his best choice now. After awakening the Avatar and throwing the business of making the world better for Raoh, the latter will just live by the side and enjoy life.

"You can work with me if you ever considered becoming a mercenary." June offered as she extended her hand.

Raoh shook her hand, and he said. "Thanks." Then remembering how much she was hating him a few hours ago, he said. "Guess we can forget our grudges."

"For now, I can call it peace." She said as she fisted his shoulder. Raoh didn't care and turned his head to the left.

"If I were you, I would be running now," Raoh said in a warning tone.

June felt that he was being rude to her. She was about to scream at him, but she saw that he wasn't staring at her. She then remembered that he had mentioned that he has a gift. She looked in the same direction. A yellow glint came from there, it seemed to be caused by fire.

"Fire benders, and strong ones above that. A trained unit is heading here, and some are coming from the roofs." Raoh said.

"We should escape, come with me!" She said.

"Leave me alone. Besides, the other guys seem to be belonging to an opposing force." Once Raoh finished his words, he saw men clodded in red armours appearing. They noticed him, held their weapons, and fire surrounded them. The only reason they didn't attack seems to be the ripped corpses on the ground.

"The Ripper!" the one in their lead growled.

"My old friend!"

Raoh turned his head once he saw a group clodded in white armours. In the middle of their chests, there was a symbol of a white lotus. Standing in their lead was an old bald man.

"The White Lotus." The one in the lead of red armoured men said.

Raoh recognised him. "I'm still young, Tsu." That was the old man he used to chat with when he was a slave.

"I see that you are in better shape, and you gained muscles," Tsu said.

"Asshole, why didn't you tell me that you were in White Lotus Order," Raoh complained.

"I told you that slaves are people who resisted the Fire Nation, dumb-ass."

"I was only eating slices of bread and working out, so I couldn't think well." Raoh justified.
