Chapter 12

Taking the usual road, Raoh moved to the south of this Earth Kingdom city.

Of course, it was under the leadership of the Fire Nation.

But since it doesn't have near mines, there were not any slaves.

Around, you can see people dressed in red clothes, and it's easy to tell from which nation they are.

Other than that, the most common clothes are green. When it comes to the social levels, red means you are a higher human being.

Raoh was moving without letting anyone see him. Simply, he was using Shave. His body had gained enough strength to use it, and now, he is building more stamina by using it constantly. He wasn't worried about recovering time, since he can recover instantly.

It's funny to think that the more he resisted beyond his stamina level, it will grow.

Raoh appeared in front of one of his gambling blackspot.

He was quite glad to make it this fast.

Now, this is the last day, probably, so he should use the best of his money.

He is sure that some bounty hunters will come to ambush him later. Some benders will be among them, so it will be quite a tough battle for him.

It's quite risky. After all, many bad scenarios can happen to him if he clashed with a strong group with benders included.

Some Earth bender can distract him while the other can wrap his legs with rocks.

'I should offer her a deal.'

Entering the casino, Raoh picked up a group to play with. As he had learnt his lesson, he let himself lose a few times, but he always win at the last moment, everything.

On this day, he didn't just settle with the double of his gainings. He made 10 times fold. Earning himself around 700 Silver Piece.

It's easy to make money with gambling.

But it's so risky.

As risky as the group he will face later.

Raoh then made his way to some restaurant and ordered his full. The owner didn't believe his eyes when he saw his usual client eating a full human-sized animal.

Raoh left the money on the table and left.

The people were staring at him.

"What kind of human he is?"

"Does snakes live in his stomach?"

"Maybe he is possessed by spirits."

Raoh was not what they think. It's just how his bodywork.

Staring at the sky, at the sun that was setting, he thought of what to do. He needed to prepare for the battle before River Rat's group come to him.

'Right. June should be drinking now… she was quite emotional ever since I beat them.' Raoh sighed. 'She's upset that I used her… But she started first. Still, Nyla is a very good ally.'

-x-X-x-

June was sitting alone at the bar by herself. A couple of guys tried to approach her, but she kicked them away. She looked at her empty glass and filled it again. She was trying to forget the humiliation she had suffered.

"That bastard. He used me and threw me away like that." She growled as she held her cup. "And he took my money. I swear. I'll kill him!"

"Come on. You can't hate me over a few pieces." Raoh held the cup from her hand, stopping her from drinking.

June turned and gave a punch behind her. She missed, and she saw the face of the guy that was the last thing that she wanted to see.

"You!"

"Relax. I'm not here to fight." Raoh said as he went to sit opposite her. In one gulp, he drank her cup. "Ah. Not so bad."

"State your business," June said. Usually, she would just start fighting. But she knew that it was not easy to get someone like him. Not to mention, he hadn't killed her.

"Straight to the point. I like that." Raoh took the alcohol bottle and started pouring.

June opened her eyes widely. He was stealing her alcohol. Is he planning to take all of her money?

"Don't worry, I'll pay for it. And for more, if you are willing to take part." Raoh said as he started drinking.

Upon hearing some money offered to the table, June felt interested. "And what's that."

"I need you and Nyla."

"So, you want to use us again, just to ambush me and take more of my money."

"You don't say. You talk as if your plan hadn't been helping me escape, just to get my bounty for your own." Raoh smirked as he raised his eyebrow.

"Guess you have a point." She rolled her eyes.

"But it's not for moving away from that I need you and Nyla," Raoh said.

"What is it?"

"Some bounty hunters are going after me. As it seems, they sent a scout. I fear that some benders are among them, and I'm not confident in taking everyone."

"Ho…" June understood. "Why don't you escape then, Mr Ripper."

"Well, June." Raoh lied on the chair and placed his feet on the table and said. "I'd like to take the risk. Are you in or out."

"Depends on how much you pay."

Raoh reached his back and threw a sack of silver pieces. He said. "You can have it, all by yourself."

June's negative feelings and views about Raoh vanished as soon as she lifted the sack and felt how heavy it is.

She smiled. "And what makes you think that I won't escape."

"You love money, and you are a mercenary. Besides, you aren't willing to throw a business with a potential client."

Raoh said, looking at her from head to toe. Not bad looking.

She looked into his eyes for some time. "You know. I'm starting to like you. So, when we start."

"Hold on. I've been keeping an eye on him." Raoh closed his eyes and unleashed his Observation Haki. He was scanning most of the people around this area. Soon, River Rat's shape appeared as a white silhouette, and it appeared to talk to other armed silhouettes.

"They have few animals, weapons, and some strong people among them. They are in the eastern north, around 400 meters away. Better call Nyla now."

"What are you doing…" June's face drew confusion as she stared at him as he was closing his eyes.

"Using my gift, my secret to winning gambles," Raoh said as he stood up.

She put her hand on her back. "Can you tell what I'm doing?"

"You are rising your middle finger. Stop playing." Raoh stood up and turned.

"I was just cracking it." June raised her eyebrows in amusement. She then stood up after him, went outside, and she called her pet.
