Life on the verge of death

We have been walking around for a reasonable amount of time. My eyes have gotten used to the darkness. Looking over to tuk she had not had a smile since we had fallen. I needed to try to cheer her up. I may not be a good person but I'm not a horrible person after all.

Slowly walking behind her I move my hands near her face while keeping her unnoticeable of it. I quickly turned her body around and grabbed both of her cheeks and stretched them "come on tuk you gotta keep a smile on your face" saying that I also put a smile on my face so that she felt safe.

She had a sluggish face when I did that" I'm sorry I try my best just like you" she had a bit of a hard time saying that as I restricted her by pulling her face.

I pulled my hand away and put them on my hips. However, I bend to one of the sides of my body. Tuk starts to panic "Are you alright you don't look so good" looking at her was not looking well. I felt fine besides the few back pain I've been having since we fell.

"I'm alright you don't need to worry about me come on let's keep going" she was looking worried but she tried to put a smile on for me. I make a small chuckle at how hard she trying. Moving my hand away from the spot where my back pain was coming from looking at it.

There was red liquid all over my hand. I Shack most of it off and start to walk after her. So it was coming from me. I need to keep going. I made a promise to the other that I will watch over her.

As we walk something was coming into view. It seems to be a drill with a couple of things on the side. It looked abandoned walking closer I could see that there were webs all over it. "Tuk I think this was left here from when the sky people were mining." She looked at me confused and made sense since she would not know anything about this after all.

Hopping on top of it I try to turn it back on. Pushing some of the buttons it flickers back on. Looking at the logs that it had, the last one dates back to 2150. If I remember correctly right now it is 2168 eighteen years have passed since the last log.

Clicking on it opens a paper looking through it that was talking about an ore that they were retrieved, however, they were told to come back to base because something happened. From the look of the bone on the floor they never made it out but why?

It says that they have gotten the ore and were taking it back with them. Well since they are dead why not take it? Looking around I see some small cabinets opening them. There were just some tools but nothing was in them.

Jumping off it I walk around to see if there is any opening for stuff. Grabbing the handle I pull but with no luck. Putting my other hand on it I tried again but nothing happened once again. I should be able to open it but I can't and everything starts to spin around.

"Tuk can you come to help me!'' She pops around the corner of the drill and I point to the handle. " When I say go we will both pull on this alright." she shackles her head. We both get into spots. "Alright, here we… GO!" We both pulled it, moving it a bit. As we kept pulling it slowly moved open.

"Alright, Tuk that's good I think" she looks at me "what are you trying to get?" looking in I grabbed the one that was in it and showed it to her "I could use this to make stuff that I need from right where I am" I move to pet her head. she had a small blush on her face and she looked down with a small smile on her face.

"Alright let's get moving" heading down the tunnel I kept feeling vibrations under my feet. It has been getting stronger as we've been walking. I had my guard up. Looking around I did not see anything, however, when I looked at tuk I saw a small crack near her.

I sprint as fast as I can to her. Grabbing her body and running as fast as I could away from it. Looking back I see something burst through the ground and land on the ground. I move tuk behind me so I won't have to watch her.

This animal looks like a honey badger except it had a long snout with sharp teeth, and claws, And was more length to its body. I'm going to call this cave badger just for the time being. I run to the side of the tunnel and grab a big rock I can quickly roll to the side as the cave badger hits its face in the wall and turns its head to me. I take a quick jab at it.

It dug into the ground before my punch could connect with its face. Taking the moment I turn to tuk "Tuk get out of here" she look at me terrified "No I won't leave you to die what would everyone else think"

Jumping back as the badger came back out hitting where I was at. "Tuk if something happens to me I will be fine but if something happens to you your family will kill me and I am saying that literally."

"Now GO!" throwing a punch the badger lands a hit and it backs up a little. Looking back, tuk was gone. Now I don't need to worry about her. Turning back at the badger running at it, ducking down I give it a solid uppercut to its stomach as it tries to jump at me.

As I try to stand up I fall to my knee spitting blood out of my mouth and wiping the blood off my mouth. Get back and look where the badger was at. It was nowhere in sight. I feel a burn on my back looking behind.

It was standing there jumping back. I spot a shining thing from behind the badger. This might be my only chance at getting it. Both staring at each other we both ran at each other. "Now! Tuk throw it!" she comes out of her spot and throws a pickaxe at me. Putting my hand up I grabbed it and swung it under.

At the same moment, the badger jumped at me. This has become predictable as I have tried this move a couple of times already. The pickaxe lands a hit under its jaw going through its mouth. The pickaxe came down with its body on it going up to it moving my foot on top of it. I start to smash my feet into its head.

Backing up I take the moment to get my breath. Looking over at tuk she looked scared. I approach tuk slowly and put my hands up as she backs up a bit. "Tuk you know I had to do that. We would have died"

"But did you have to do that to it" looking at where she pointed at the smash-up head." yes tuk to put it out of its misery and so it won't come after us" she looks unsure but she shakes her head agree.

After walking around for a while the tunnel leads back to the big open area before. Except it was smashed."tuk come on we close we just need to climb this and we will be home free." I give her a thumbs up.

Putting my hand on pieces of rock out of the Cliffside I began climbing after a while. Looking down I see tuk was doing well and we were close.

Moving my hand to the next piece but stopping midway as my vision starts to get blurry. Grabbing onto it let's go on my other hand.

Slide to the right as my hand was not on the walk quickly and try to grab a piece just in time. Taking a moment for my breathing.

"Y/n what happened?" Looking down at her she was now even closer. "I…im fine we just need to get on the top side" looking for the next part. Double checking. That I'm grabbing something.

We eventually made it to the top side. We walked down the tunnel and started to see light. Finally, we made it outside. But there were voices out there.

Couple minutes before

Jake pov

Not only do I have to deal with the war with the sky people but my kids do as well. Sighing I look over to my three kids and spider. "So not only did you go far outside the safe zone, but you also went into a dangerous tunnel and lost y/n my daughter as well!"

"Father, I knew it was outside the safe zone. I just thought we could go out for a bit and get to know y/n as well" looking at my first son. I'm still shocked that he was the one to do this

"Neteyam it would make sense from Lo'ak but from you, I'm very disappointed in you." Looking at the entrance we need to try and find them

"Alright everyone we will need to go in and find the "

"I don't think you will need to go in after us" looking over I see Y/n and tuk behind him

Y/n pov

Looking over as tuk ran to her father. It was nice to finally relax. "I….I think I need..ed some sle…." Before I knew what was happening I was falling to the floor.

Only one word was playing in my head "you are dead"

The next chapter is going to be more relaxing as y/n will need to heal from this and we could see some mother and daughter fighting for dominance. How exciting.
