66 The Voice

It continued ringing in Ria's ears.

The stiffness of Isaac's breathing. The sound of the lashes of whips.

They echoed.

Even if she covered her ears it was as if she could hear it still. Isaac was not crying out in pain, he stifled his voice, the fear that encroached his very heart.

It hurt to listen, and as she shed tears a voice spoke to Ria. Telling her to get up and pick up a weapon. With Isaac's screams, the voice became stronger, and she moved faster, and when she regained her senses her hand was shaking as she held the knife stabbed deep in the demon's neck, 'What happened? Where am I?'

"Stupid girl, you took the bait."

"What did I do!? I…I-Urk!" Ria fell to her knees as she emptied her stomach.

The sensation of the knife cutting and piercing the flesh surfaced in her mind even though she had been unawares of what she was doing. She was confused, scared, and could not even begin to understand what was happening.
