289 Humbling Albon

Meanwhile the girls all looked at Minos with shock, having never seen such an elegant way of fighting before.

Most brawls they witnessed were bloody and cruel, but Minos fought three at once without a single drop of blood spilling.

But hearing Albon's words, they knew the fight was over, causing them to all crowd in the corner, trying to get as far away from the chaos as possible.

"Oh? You're a fighter, are you?" Minos asked.

"You could say that." Albon said, tossing his coat towards the girl beside him as he walked towards Minos.

Soon enough the two came face to face, but given Minos's large stature, he was looking down at the boy, causing him to get even more irritated.

"Hmph, taste this!" Albon said, swinging suddenly, not holding back at all.

Unlike the other three who didn't use Nux for fear of accidentally killing Minos, Albon wasn't bothered again, his fist coated in a thick layer of magma-red Nux.

"Amateurs fight with force, masters with control." Minos said, deflecting his fist with the minimal amount of power.

"That's just the start!" Albon shouted, quickly regaining his stance as he threw his other fist.

But without fail, Minos solved each one of his punches with ease, making him feel like he was fighting a pillow, all of his force being sapped into nothing.

As his irritation built, his moves just became even easier to predict, Minos yawning as he easily dealt with his attacks.

Seeing Minos's lazy appearance, Albon got even angrier, jumping back for a moment as he prepared a new move.

"Since you're so good with punches, how about you solve this attack instead!" He yelled, gathering the Nux in his hand into a large fireball.

Once the fireball reached the size of a head, he pelted it towards Minos, who looked towards it with a raised brow.

Seeing the fireball about to collide with him, the young women couldn't help but cover their eyes in fear, not wanting to witness the gruesome results.

Meanwhile Albon was looking on with ravenous eyes, wanting nothing more than to watch Minos be reduced to ashes.

Unfortunately, he was destined to be disappointed, and with a raise of his finger, Minos directly tapped the fireball.

Like a vacuum, his finger quickly absorbed the entire fireball, reducing it to nothing in the blink of an eye.

Months of training his Heaven Forsaken Furnace Technique at sea weren't for nothing, and now it had all finally paid off.

Seeing the fireball disappear into Minos's finger like a magic trick, his jaw couldn't help but gap, having never seen anything like this before.

"H-How did you do that!" He shouted in horror, the girls opening their eyes at his words, surprised to find Minos completely unharmed.

"It's a secret." Minos smiled, stepping towards Albon.

"Don't come near me!" Albon shouted, trying to move back, but finding himself backed against the wall.

Finally arriving in front of him, Minos suddenly shot his palms out at a tremendous speed, his arms moving so fast they left behind phantoms.

This wasn't a random attack, but rather, each of Minos's palms hit a very specific spot on Albon's body, sending a small burst of Nux into his body, disabling all his nerves temporarily.

Collapsing over, Albon was still completely conscious, but his body had lost all force, and he could only look up towards Minos, his eyes filled with fear.

"It's nice to finally have a moment of quiet." Minos smiled, taking a seat in Albon's spot.

"Is this how you all treat guests?" Minos suddenly said, his legs reclining over Albon's limp body.

Hearing his words, the girls quickly jumped into action, one messaging his shoulders, the other his feet, the third feeding him grapes, and the last one fanning him off.

"I can't remember the last time I've relaxed like this, you boys really know how to enjoy life, huh?" Minos said with a loud laugh, Albon's blood boiling as he looked up at Minos's annoying face.

"You must be the one Albon is obsessed with." Minos said, looking towards the one feeding him grapes.

"Uhh, I'm not really sure what you're talking about Sir." The girl quickly replied.

"Don't play stupid with me. I can see everything your heart hides, even the things you yourself are blind too." Minos replied, his murky eyes staring piercingly into the girl's soul.

Feeling a chill down her spine, she couldn't help but step back, having never met someone who could see through her so easily.

"Albon, for someone so talented, you really have your priorities mixed up. You're obsessing over a girl like this, yet if you knew how to use your strength and influence properly, you could have her with ease."

"Your father sent me here to whip you into shape, so lesson one, real men take what they want, they don't sit around and pray for it to happen."

"How about I show you first hand what that looks like?" Minos said with an evil smile, though he was naturally lying, after all, his heart only had space for one woman.

"n-n-NO!" Albon shouted, seemingly finding the strength out of nowhere to fight his paralysis.

"You really are obsessed, huh? Well I can understand if it was over true love, but what you have isn't love, it's just confusion. Trust me, this girl isn't worth it."

"She is, she absolutely is!" Albon said between grit teeth.

"Is that so? Then how come three days ago she slept with another man?" Minos suddenly said, causing the girl in question to reel back in horror.

Seeing her reaction, Albon couldn't help but go pale. He was certainly obsessed, but he wasn't stupid.

"I-Is that true…"

"... It's true." She said, Minos's piercing eyes scaring her into telling the truth.

"H-How could you. You promised that you'd save yourself for me until I convinced my dad to give me the money to redeem you…"

"Come on Albon, you know better than me how delusional that is. There's no way your dad would ever give you the money, and I'm just trying to survive…" She said in irritation, suddenly finding herself annoyed at Albon's naivety.

"Then you could have waited for me to take his spot!" Albon shouted, his eyes red.

"And how long would that take? Your dad is a cultivator and he isn't going to die anytime soon, I'm just a normal human, I don't have the time to wait…"

"I could have done something, anything… You just needed to wait for me…" Albon said, his voice going weak.

"I'm done waiting. Maybe if you weren't such a loser, this wouldn't have happened."

Seeing Albon's face going pale, Minos knew his point was made, so he was about done playing this game.

"Alright, that's enough, you ladies can leave, and take those boys out with you." Minos said, lifting his feet from Albon's back.

Hearing his words, the young ladies quickly got into action, not wanting to spend another second in this place.

Soon enough, it was only Minos and Albon left behind, so reaching over, Minos knocked on a few of Albon's pressure points, removing his paralysis.

"You can get up now."

"What's the point…" Albon said, still limp across the floor.

"Come on now, you're stronger than that." Minos said, giving him a light kick.

"What's the point of strength without love…?"

"Love? Don't make me laugh, you know nothing about love, and you never have. It's exactly why you were fooled so easily."

"And what do you know about love!?" Albon shouted, finally standing up in rage, his eyes red and tear-filled.

"What do I know? Let me show you." Minos said, his murky pupils suddenly going sharp as an aura wave exploded out of his body and washed over Albon.

Before Albon even knew what happened, he suddenly felt his entire world shifting and morphing, his eyes opening up to a brand new world.

At first he was confused, but after only a few seconds or so, his memories of his real life were slowly wiped away, instead replaced with fake ones.

In this life he was a farmer with a small family, only consisting of himself, his wife, his mother, and his daughter.

His life wasn't a glamorous one, but there was tremendous beauty in its simplicity, and Albon wouldn't replace it for anything.

Unfortunately, this dream life of his would soon turn into a nightmare, a bandit raid resulting in the death of his mother and the capture of his wife and daughter.

The bandits similarly struck Albon down, leaving him to slowly bleed to death on his farm, but by some miracle he survived.

After that, he joined the army, becoming a new recruit and working his way up through the ranks through his relentless efforts.

Everytime he wanted to give up, he couldn't help but think of his small family and his once perfect life, once again filling his enraged heart with motivation.
