Unspoken Fears
The weeks that followed were filled with a growing sense of unease. Lily and Ash continued to struggle with the distance, their conversations often punctuated by silence and unspoken fears.
One night, as Lily lay in bed staring at her phone, she received a text from Ash. We need to talk.
Her heart sank as she read the words, her mind racing with worst-case scenarios. When they finally connected on a video call, Ash's face looked more tired and distant than ever.
"Lily, I don't know how to say this," he began, his voice heavy with emotion. "But I've been feeling really lost lately. I don't know if I can keep doing this."
Lily's heart broke at his words, tears streaming down her face. "Ash, please don't give up on us. We can get through this."
"I don't want to give up," Ash said, his voice cracking. "But I don't know if I'm strong enough to handle this distance."
