A Reminder

Aaron and his parents were busily packing their things, readying themselves for their departure. A sleek limousine awaited them outside their home.

"Your grandfather has offered us a position in the family company, now that our contract with Ferlier Corporation has finally come to an end," Lucy explained to Aaron, who looked puzzled. She smiled warmly at him, happy to share the good news.

"But why are we packing up?" Aaron asked, still uncertain.

"We're moving to my old house, which is closer to work," Joshua chimed in with a grin. He was eager to begin this new phase of their lives.

Yesterday, as they talked and Aaron shared the news of his awakening, his parents also revealed another great surprise. Aaron's father and his grandfather's fight was because of Joshua's career choice. Hugo, Aaron's grandfather, had wanted Joshua to work in the family company, but Joshua refused. He wanted to make a name for himself, independently, without relying on his family's support. After joining the Ferlier Corporation, Hugo was angry at his son's choice, especially when he joined his competition.

This didn't mean that Hugo disliked Lucy; on the contrary, he loved her like his own daughter. However, his disappointment with Joshua made him stay away and avoid contact, especially when he heard that Aaron was being left alone most of the time. Under the Ferlier Corporation's contract, when a special mission was issued, the researchers and other staff members had no choice but to be dispatched. This was why Aaron's parents had no option but to leave him alone for most of his life.

Despite the difficulties, Joshua managed to make a name for himself, as his experience and discoveries led him to become a top researcher. Unfortunately, his achievements went unnoticed due to the Ferlier Corporation's suppression. Joining his father's competition might not have been the smartest move he could have made. Realizing this, after the contract ended, Joshua contacted his father and apologized. He wished he had done so a long time ago, but he didn't want to be connected to the family while he was still under the Ferlier Corporation's control, just in case they made things more difficult for him.

Thankfully, his grandfather understood and welcomed them back home, ending the story on a happy note.

***

Aaron's family had just moved into a grand villa spanning an impressive 800 square meters. His father revealed they had paid over 10 million for it and more than 20 million in total after the renovation costs. "Why didn't we live here in the first place?" Aaron asked, impressed by the luxurious abode.

Joshua took a deep breath and admitted, "I was arrogant and foolish when I was younger. I thought I didn't need anything from my family, so I left everything they gave me and left. It just ended up making life a little harder for both of you. I'm sorry."

Lucy interrupted with a smile, "Don't apologize, dear. Remember, if you weren't a little hot-headed, we wouldn't have met."

Joshua chuckled, "Indeed, if I wasn't a little foolish, we wouldn't have met, and I can't imagine life without both of you."

Lucy beamed at Joshua, "I can't imagine it myself."

Aaron couldn't help but feel a bit uncomfortable by their overt affection towards each other. The limo eventually arrived at their new home, and they were greeted by two uniformed staff members.

"Welcome home, young master Joshua," said Geralt, a tall man in a tuxedo, with a huge smile. "Miss Lucy, young master Aaron, welcome home." Geralt addressed Lucy as "miss" as she did not prefer the title "young mistress."

As Aaron stepped inside the grand villa, his eyes widened in amazement at the sight of the spacious living room. The high ceiling and luxurious furnishings gave the room an air of elegance and opulence. Two maids were busy cleaning the place, their diligent efforts not going unnoticed by Aaron.

Meanwhile, his mother, Lucy, wasted no time in making herself at home. She strode purposefully into the kitchen, deftly wrapping an apron around her waist. "I'm about to whip up something delicious, just wait for a little bit," she announced confidently.

But before Lucy could get to work, one of the maids spoke up, her voice quivering with nerves. "Young misst... Miss Lucy, there's no need, we'll take care of that."

Lucy, who hailed from a scholarly family and had excelled in university, was not one to shy away from the kitchen. On the contrary, she was a master of the culinary arts, with her husband and son singing her praises for her delicious meals.

Aaron couldn't help but feel a sense of comfort and familiarity wash over him as he watched his mother take charge in the kitchen. He knew from his memories, both of his previous life and his current one as the reincarnated Aaron, that Lucy always preferred to cook the family's meals herself. She would lovingly prepare each dish, eagerly awaiting the return of her husband and son.

"From now on, I'll be cooking," Lucy declared, flashing a warm smile at the flustered maid before disappearing into the kitchen.

As Aaron made his way upstairs, accompanied by a servant carrying his luggage, he couldn't contain his excitement. "I could get used to this," he muttered to himself, grinning like a madman.

Once in his new room, Aaron took his time setting up his belongings. He carefully arranged his clothing, posters, and books, taking in the vastness of the space. However, he couldn't help but notice how sparse his possessions looked in comparison to the room's size. It made sense, of course, given the vast difference between his old and new living quarters.

As Aaron walked into the kitchen, the tantalizing aroma of his mother's cooking greeted his nose. Lucy, his mother, was bustling about the kitchen, already clad in an apron and ready to prepare a feast fit for a king. Aaron stood in the doorway, tongue-tied for a moment before finally finding his voice.

"Mom, can I help you with anything?" he offered, hoping to assist her in some way.

Lucy turned around, her face lighting up at the sight of her son. "No need, my dear. I'm quite the kitchen veteran, you know," she replied with a grin. "Just wait a little while longer, and we'll have a scrumptious meal together."

"Alright then, let me go wash up," Aaron replied, already heading towards the stairs.

In the bathroom, he splashed his face with cold water, taking a moment to reflect on how far he had come. He had returned to his family after five long years, never imagining that he would have the chance to reunite with them again.

Back then, when the Connel family fell on hard times, someone had plotted against his father, Joshua, and had him murdered. Later, Lucy herself passed away from the heartbreak. But now, Aaron was back, and everything was different.

Aaron's gaze remained fixed on his reflection in the bathroom mirror, his eyes reflecting a simmering rage that threatened to boil over at any moment. In his previous life, It had been five years since he last saw his family, and during that time, he had gone through too much. No longer was he the naive and inexperienced young man who could be easily taken advantage of. Now, he was a force to be reckoned with, a man with a fierce determination to protect those he loved at any cost.

As he stared at his reflection, his mind raced with thoughts of revenge. The people who had conspired against his family, who had orchestrated the downfall of his father and the death of his mother, would pay for what they had done. He would show them no mercy, no quarter, no hesitation.

The intensity of Aaron's emotions was palpable, radiating from him like a heat wave. His grip on the sink tightened until a spider web of cracks appeared, and his teeth ground together so hard that he thought they might break.

"I'm going to kill every single one of them," he growled through gritted teeth, his voice low and menacing. The words hung in the air like a threat, a warning, but also a promise.

His eyes burned with a fierce determination as he steeled himself for the battle to come. The anger inside him was a fire that would not be quenched until justice had been served. And when that day came, the conspirators would know the full measure of his wrath.
