And in an instant, the lives of 20 million people changed. It was the new server reset of the VRMMORPG 'New World'. The grand 8th reset was going to feature a brand-new mix of magic and apocalypse with a mix of empire building. The players, named Heralds, were given a trait when they begin the game. These traits define the way the Herald would play, since this is the only thing which carried over per reset. These could be anything from 'punch stuff better' to 'summon and control divine lightning'. For the sake of balance, all traits were made to be upgradeable on a scale of F to SSS. Every reset, a Herald gains a new trait depending on their global ranking. As such on the server's launch, a record breaking 20 million people logged in to enjoy and dominate the newest world, Hades.

Taliesin was one such individuals who logged in, the same as the last 7 years, to redeem his hard-fought 1st prize trait from the last server. His very own SSS rank trait. His hope is to use the power of this trait to finally be able to dominate the 8th server with his guild. Today though when he logged in with his headset, the feeling was a little off. As if his life was slipping away along with his consciousness to a world far away. Floating into the starter chamber, Taliesin looked through his traits before he redeemed his SSS trait. The 6 traits he earned throughout his six years of hard work, which culminated into him finally achieving 1st place on the 7th reset. These traits were, [A Rank Tireless], [B Rank Combine], [C Rank Weapon Arts], [E Rank Increased Perception], [E Rank Telekinesis], and the [F Rank Stealth]. Smiling ear-to-ear, the virtual avatar of Taliesin floated over towards the mailbox section of this chamber before motioning to the system to open the box. In the box, there was only one envelop, one which he eagerly tore open. A system prompt appeared in front of him;

We from the New World team want to congratulate you on achieving the 1st Rank on the World Champion's Leaderboard. As a result, you have been granted your very own SSS Rank trait. We at the New World team want you to keep working hard and reach even grater heights. Do you wish to awaken your SSS trait now?

Taliesin excitedly activated the trait awakening system a light appeared on the palm of his hand. A burning sensation searing deeply into his soul. As the pain subsided, a system prompt replaced the red in his vision.

Taliesin subconsciously gasped, realizing the power of this trait. In New World, crafting required proper tools and the required time. By being able to craft on the go and being able to store his crafting facilities on him will allow an insane advantage to carry him throughout the server. Auto-Looting on the other hand increased his efficiency while traversing in the new world. If for example, looting something takes 1 second, over the course of 60 such auto-looting, he would save 1 more minute. Equipping all his traits, Taliesin took in a deep breath, relaxed his mind, and pressed the join game button on his system console.
