26 The Ruin of Blaze

After a quick break, Seth was ready to enter the Ruin of Blaze to clear it and see how strong Rim has become.

Notice: Successfully entered the Ruin of Blaze.

Seth wandered around a bit.

"These hieroglyphs sure look pretty good. This Ruin's atmosphere and graphics would be quite a hit game back in my old world."

Notice: Lvl 65 fire elementals are in sight.

Notice: Lvl 60 mummies are detected.

"Summon Dark Shadow Army."

(Wow. there are so many of them! Geez. Summoning all of them is somewhat intimidating. If I wasn't used to Dark Shadow's form already or when I was still a student, I would think their some scary monsters that would pop up in the dark to get me.)

"Rim and Dark Shadow army, go and kill them all."

(Since these enemies are just mobs, I think they won't stand a chance against Rim even if they outnumber him. Besides, these mobs became much weaker because of Rim's innate aura skills.)

"Uriel, stay back."

Notice: Auto-Battle will be on standby.

*GRRRR... SWIIISHHHH... BANG... WHOMP... BAM!*

LVL UP! LVL 81!

Notice: 154 monsters are killed.

Notice: 342 monsters are killed.

Notice: 511 monsters are killed.

Notice: Resummoning Dark Shadow Army.

Notice: 743 monsters are killed.

Notice: 832 monsters are killed.

A couple of hours passed and Rim and the Dark Shadows cleared all the mobs.

"So I guess although these monsters are weak since there aren't that many of them, they give way more experience for clearing the ruins. Also, if only I have the Dark Shadow Army when I was fighting in the Demon Gate Dungeon, I could've cleared it faster."

Notice: Pharoah's Tomb is open. Entering the Boss Area.

Notice: Giant Scorpion King appeared.

"Wow, its attack damage is pretty strong. Although it has such low hp and defenses to compensate for it."

Seth looked at the Scorpion's tail.

(I think that's the thing that deals a massive amount of magical damage.)

Notice: Scorpion King is emitting poisonous gas. Anybody within the vicinity of the arena is affected. Deals 2% damage to hp every 5 seconds.

Notice: Scorpion King activated Ring of Fire. The whole arena is covered in fire.

(I think Rim can easily dodge his attacks. My problem is the poisonous gas. It will slowly kill my Dark Shadow Army along with the Fire. As for Rim...)

Notice: Dark Shadow Army has been annihilated due to the Poison and Fire damage.

"Can Rim adapt a resistance towards the poison?"

Notice: Rim has the skill of adaptability which is an innate skill for slimes. This ensures that within an amount of time if they survive, any elemental debuff/attack will be nullified and they can adapt to that element.

"Can I do that as well, Uriel?"

Notice: Adaptability skill is a slime-exclusive skill. Only elemental beings or beings that are mostly made of pure mana can innately be resistant to the elements. Although that is the case, the user can learn specific resistance skills using skill scrolls. It can also be acquired by achieving the requirements needed. An example would be to continuously burn themselves to acquire a lesser fire resistance skill.

"Since skill scrolls can only be made if someone already has that skill, that means someone actually burned themselves to acquire such a skill? That must've hurt a lot."

Notice: The user can also equip accessories such as the Frost Ring that the user currently has. Although resistances don't show on your status page, the user is somewhat resistant to frost attacks. Low-level enemies won't deal any ice damage to the user. As for high-level enemies, the effects are either weakened or negated as well depending on the level of the enemy and the skill that is used. As for other forms of debuffs that don't require the use of elements, the user is somewhat resistant to most because of the passive skill, Dragon Soul.

(I'm glad I got that skill while fighting that Dragon Lord. My Physical and Magical defense is also pretty high because of it. I doubt I can withstand a lot of hits so far from the bosses if it weren't for that.)

Rim was still fighting while Seth was preoccupied with Uriel. Whenever the Scorpion King charges him, Rim turns into his small Dragon Persona and flies up.

Notice: Scorpion King is preparing a Venomous Blast from his tail.

Notice: Rim has acquired resistance to the poison and venom of the Scorpion King.

Rim charged ahead and went back to his slime form. He took a direct hit from the venomous blast but it did no damage as Rim absorbed the poison.

Notice: Dark Shadow Army cooldown is over. Automatically resummoning the Dark Shadow Army.

Rim bound the Scorpion King as his big Pincers kept on cutting his body but it doesn't seem to help. As he was restricted, The whole Dark Shadow Army attacked it one last time and permanently killed it.

LVL UP! LVL UP! LVL 88.

Notice: Rim is lvl 75.

"Such a big jump. Wait, let me see how much damage my Dark Shadow Army deals. So 25% x 40 = 1000% and 50% x 10 = 500%? x15 of my magic attack damage? Oh wait, it gets decreased by the magic defense of the Scorpion. But how come they only killed it now?"

Notice: Dark Shadow Army got annihilated by the Fire ring and poison. The Dark Shadow Army doesn't have any resistance.

"I see. I guess I can easily wipe out a boss enemy now as long as my army is alive."

Notice: A chest appeared in the Pharoah's Tomb.

Seth went there and opened the chest.

Notice: New loot acquired.

Blaze Ring:

-Applies the ignited state on the enemy when dealing damage to them. Ignited State makes the enemy take 5% magical Fire Damage based on the user's Magic damage per second. This stacks up to 5 times and each stack lasts around 30 seconds.

"Does the ignited and frostbitten state overlap or I can stack it, Uriel?"

Notice: Multiple elemental debuffs can stack.

Notice: Elemental Ring Set opened. The Elemental Rings are part of a set.

Elemental Ring Set (3/5):

-boost all effects of the rings by 50%.

Elemental Ring Set (5/5):

-boost all the effects of the rings by 100%

Notice: The user currently has 2/5 of the elemental rings.

(I guess I'll find that other ruin somewhere next time so I can at least complete a part of its set effects. So far, all I know is there are 9 Demon Gate Dungeons and I think 5 ruins. Since all the ruins I've conquered so far all have the rings that complete the set.)

"Also, the Pharoah's necklace is a holy relic?"

Notice: Holy Relics are old/ancient items used by revered/venerated individuals. The relics are holy because it contains old Mana that was imbued by the pharaoh's strong believers.

(That would mean that I only need to be level 100 and I can ascend my Unique Skill again. And conveniently, I got the solution right here.)

"I guess I'll stay here for around another week and clear this other Demon Gate Key. This might even take less than a week since I have an army at my disposal."

Notice: Demon Gate Key: (Dungeon lvl 60)

-Opens a dungeon in a designated area. A dungeon that can be entered multiple times until it is cleared.

"Double the number of enemies than the previous one? I think I can easily reach lvl 100 now."

(Hmmm... But why are there 9 demon gate keys and only 5 ruins?)

Notice: Either some of the ruins have multiple Demon Gate Keys or the other keys are scattered/ have been used.

"Well, I'll think about that next time. I get double experience when killing demons inside the Demon Gate Dungeon so I'm quite pumped up on leveling up right now. After I rest for a bit, that is."
