V.1-C.9│Old and New VI│

Mikoto and Kushina decided that they shouldn't go back to the Uchiha district for now and would rent out a place to stay for now. They can easily go back and fix things up later on, and it is currently still nighttime.

There is no light currently, and the three, Obito included, are tired from tonight's events.

So they did just that, rent a small place away from the area they had been attacked and settled down for the night.

The next morning, Mikoto had awoken and found herself cuddling Obito within the bed. She didn't exactly ever get into the same bed as Obito before, but she didn't want him to be separated from her.

Even if those shinobi were or are after Kushina, she felt more protective of Obito then her. "Obito." She woke him up, quite easily as well. 'He is a light sleeper.' She thought to herself. "Obito. I have been given some time to train you before you enter the academy. Do you want to do this?"

She was still and bed and so is he, and she didn't wait to ask him this question. Obito nodded his head in reply.

"Ok..." While she rather he not do this, she also understood Obito a little better now. It was not an uncommon goal to want to be stronger.

Later on, she would make some breakfast, something she was not really that could at before, but had become good at cooking after now living by herself and caring for Obito. Kushina came in as well, since their rented place was only a two bedroom place.

Early morning, Kushina looked a bit out of place but seeing Obito, she went up to him and kissed him on the cheek. "Good morning, Obito." She smiled, and was shocked herself to find she had managed to chock Obito.

He was not expecting to be kissed on the cheek, and so was Mikoto not expecting such an action from Kushina. "Good morning...?" Obito replied back, his expression strange.

"Look, Mikoto! Obito is embarrassed." Kushina laughed as she said this, and Mikoto seemed to have found the secrets to the universe.

'Maybe I should do that as well?' Mikoto thought to herself, before shaking her head and settling everyone down.

They would eat breakfast before going back to the Uchiha district, exactly the place Mikoto lives. In fact, it was close by to Granny Masumi's place that had been rebuilt and she was living there, but this also meant they are further away from the main Uchiha compound.

In fact, there was only Granny Masumi, Mikoto, Kushina and Obito all the way out here. It was no wonder those Kumo shinobi were able to get in so easily.

Outside, Mikoto had brought Obito and he was standing in front of her. Kushina was sitting down a bit away, watching Mikoto start to help Obito learn the ways of a shinobi, or at least be able to manipulate his chakra.

Mikoto and Kushina would however be surprised that Obito has seemingly already gotten a very strong control over his chakra. Kushina herself is a sensor, meaning she was able to tell that he had a larger amount of chakra than the average person.

Larger than those his age, and larger for even those above as well. There wasn't really much to teach him as well, so Mikoto decided to teach him the signature technique of the Uchiha. Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique.

It also didn't take him long to master this, even without him using his Sharingan, where both Mikoto and Kushina started to wonder about his potential. His talent was actually startling to them, fully making them aware that he may just have the qualifications for the title of genius.

"Well, I think that should be enough..." Mikoto would slow down for now.

"Yes. Thank you." Obito gave his thanks for learning something new, before saying. "I need to do my exercise now." Obito couldn't keep it secret really any longer.

"Exercise?" Kushina questioned.

"I must physically train my body. From what you told me, chakra is made up of yin and yang. So, I must train my body through exercise to start increasing my chakra, and do meditation to increase my chakra as well." Obito explained, allowing Mikoto and Kushina to be enlightened a bit themselves.

How could they have not thought about doing what Obito had just said before? Well, for Kushina, meditation sounds boring and physically training herself, she doesn't really know what to do except the basics.

The same could be said for Mikoto as well. "That is... a good idea, actually." Mikoto nodded her head, before deciding to do just like Obito wants to do. "You do that then, I will talk with Kushina for a bit."

"Ok." While Obito went off to do his own thing, Kushina was approached by Mikoto.

Mikoto would convince, rather easily, Kushina to train with her, so that they may improve as well. They were both now more aware, if they weren't before, to the dangers of remaining weak. Obito didn't even really say anything important, but it made them both aware of ways to make themselves stronger.

The day would go by, with some minor cleanup of inside, a greeting to Granny Masumi and the three, Mikoto, Kushina and Obito getting stronger.

Now that the cat was out of the bag, Obito just needed to continue his workout regimen. He also knew that a lot of things had changed, and taking this into account he must start reworking his current skillset.

Knowing Sage Arts, knowing Rasengan and its variants, plus other miscellaneous techniques and prankster techniques, he could now add something new.

Other than the Mystical Palm technique he had 'borrowed' from that nurse when he was in the hospital that one time.

'Now that I am... Obito... that must mean that my chakra nature may be different as well.' Obito thought to himself as he was seated within his room.

His brand new room that is, as Mikoto had seen it in herself to fix up a place next to Granny Masumi. In doing this, sure, it took longer to get to and from the main part of the village, but it was nice to be around another one of his loved ones.

He had already made himself at peace with his reincarnation, leaving behind those in his previous life and was already accepting those here. Kushina, Mikoto and Masumi were people he held close to himself.

However, that didn't he is about to just forget everything from his past life either.

Currently, he held out a piece of paper in front of himself, clearly prepared to do something with it.

It was something he could use to test out his new chakra nature, that is if he has a difference from his own knowledge and understanding.

Most people have chakra that has an affinity to one of the Five Elements Nature Transformations. To find out what affinity someone has, pieces of paper that are made from a special type of tree are used to react to the slightest hint of chakra in any number of ways, depending on the nature latent in the chakra.

For Fire, the paper will catch on fire and turn into ash. For Wind, the paper will split in half. For Lightning, the paper will wrinkle. For Earth, the paper will turn to dirt and crumble away, and for Water, the paper will become damp.

Obito did a test of his own, and he wasn't so surprised to find that he does in fact have a change. 'Fire, huh?' He thought as the paper caught on fire, turning to ash.

The Uchiha were known to be affiliated with this element as well, so it wasn't far from his expectations, but this would only mean he would have to do even more training then before. That is if he wanted to start using some of the more advanced Rasengan techniques he has.

'I guess I do have that Great Fireball technique...' Obito would have to start thinking of ways to start training himself in controlling the element of fire, before he could master any other element next.

Putting this aside, Obito had also been using his Sharingan religiously since he had awakened it at first.

His body was already used to chakra being pushed into it, through his eyes, keeping his Sharingan as active for as long as he could.

His body, mind and eyes all got used to the change in perception, but most of all was the cost to his chakra. Just like with normal techniques, using them more would allow someone to gain mastery over said technique, reducing cost and increasing effectiveness.

The same can be applied to the Sharingan as well, and he had been using it as much as he could.

Certainly, it was strange at first to get used to the world that he viewed differently, and wondered about all of the others that had a bloodline limit that affected their eyes.

Not only the Uchiha, but the Hyuga as well, and he wondered if it was as straining to them as it was for him. 'Well, that was at first...' As Obito had gotten used to the usage, and within a short year now, he was basically ready to use the Sharingan whenever he wanted.

'Keeping it permanently active would be a problem though...' For now, he didn't wish to keep it 'permanently' active, as that would probably start messing with his head.

He knows of how the Uchiha have strange emotions, and he started to feel it himself, especially after awakening the Sharingan.

He grew a little more possessive over others, those that are close to him. Mikoto and Kushina especially, not even mentioning Granny Masumi whom he also cared for.

Putting that aside, Obito knew that these changes may not necessarily be bad. If anything, he didn't mind it, but that was only natural as these changes have seemingly come from within himself.

He even wondered about the village and its treatment of himself as a jinchuriki, and while that hadn't happened yet, it was still something that lingered in his mind. Even when it technically hasn't even happened at all.

Which also made him wonder all the more about Kushina's treatment from within the village as well. Which did get a reaction out of him, his eyes turning into the Sharingan as emotions of protectiveness, possessiveness and maybe something more had come to him.

Gritting his teeth and clenching his fists, Obito tried to calm himself down as he meditated for a bit. 'Yes. Whatever it is, it is making things a bit harder to think of things in... other ways.'

He know understood why Sasuke may have turned out the way he was, especially with the way he is also affected as well.

'Just remember, Obito. No one is perfect. Not yourself, and not anyone else.'

Time passed, and yet again, Obito finds himself in a situation that some would consider strange.

'I mean, I have to go through this boring process again...' Obito thought as he now stood at the front of a classroom.

A classroom that was the ninja academy established by Tobirama Senju, the Second Hokage.

It is where prospective ninja are trained and where official ninja receive their assignments. It was founded by the Second Hokage out of military necessity.

The requirements aside to become a ninja or be introduced into said academy, Obito was able to enter easily. Love the village and hope to help preserve peace and prosperity? He liked this idea, and while he may not love the village, that didn't mean he couldn't pretend to do so.

Who is going to not trust him anyway? He is but a five year old kid after all.

Have a mind that will not yield, able to endure hard training and work? He can do this and could actual be a mascot for said requirement. He has taken a whole hell of a lot worse in terms of mental and physical damage or harm.

Be healthy in mind and body? Obito believed that he was, and it seemed like others did as well, since he is here and now within a classroom.

In fact, it was the entrance ceremony that happened a little while ago, and it is here that he is to introduce himself now. Due to his current family name being far back on the list, Uchiha.

"Hello, everyone! I am Obito Uchiha!" Obito announced before doing a small bow as his eyes were in the Sharingan's form.

What he didn't realize is the effect this had on the other children within, with most being interested, curious or otherwise a little scared due to the scary nature of his eyes.

They were ominous after all, and it was by this point that he had gotten used to having them active all the time. At first he didn't want to do that, but he just kind of got used to the way the world looked through his eyes.

So, he decided why not?

Introducing himself aside, he thought about his time with his former teacher Iruka, and if he counts the years properly, Iruka hasn't even been born yet. 'Heh. That means I'm the older one now.'

Looking around, he identified two people that should be of interest to him. One was Kakashi Hatake, his former, or future mentor, and team leader for team 7. 'Kakashi...' He was surprised to see that he had two normal eyes, given that he should have a Sharingan in one of his eyes.

'Yeah... I don't plan on dying or giving you one of my eyes. That just ain't it.' Obito mused to himself, most definitely not going to give away his eyes.

They were too useful, and they belonged to him.

Kakashi wore a long sleeved anchor-grey shirt with a zipper, a green scarf and slate-colored shorts. He also wore blue sandals. Spiky silver hair often oriented to his left-side, dark grey eyes, appearing black in several instances, and had his typical relaxed and lazy expression.

'Yep, that is the Kakashi that I know of.' Nodding his head, Obito then turned his eyes towards another. 'Rin Nohara... that is if I remember correctly.'

Her hair was long, hanging to nearly the top of her shoulders. She also had a rectangular purple marking on either sides of her cheeks. She wore a simple outfit consisting of a light-colored blouse with a bow tied in the middle and a simple, sleeveless haori.

Obito shook his head of his thoughts, before moving towards the back of the classroom, sitting in another seat at the back, next to the window. 'Maybe I can graduate early...?' It wouldn't exactly help him much, but its not like he wanted to stay within either.

Both situations would be bad in a way. Join the war going on early, or stay within the academy to hide away his capabilities and build up strength.

'I think the second option may be the best.' Obito most definitely was not Naruto anymore.
