"As expected of an extra....sigh

As I examined my status, I faced a disappointing truth.

It showed I had an F rank, a clear sign of my lowly position in this story's hierarchy.

Furthermore, my growth potential barely reached D+. These weren't promising beginnings.

The stats section painted a grim picture of my abilities.

Both my strength and stamina were rated as F, making me physically weak and lacking endurance.

My agility was a bit better at F+, suggesting I had some nimbleness despite being quite average. Intelligence was the exception, with a C grade, hinting at untapped potential.

However, my magic and charisma were at a dismal F-, indicating a lack of talent in those areas.

As for luck, it was at an E, which meant luck wasn't exactly on my side.

My newbie identity as a Level 1 Swordsman with a single skill, 'Basic Swordsmanship,' was rated a disappointing F, making me feel like a beginner in a world of experts.

It was a stark reminder of the steep learning curve ahead.

Then there was 'Nutty Movement,' my only skill, listed as a D-. Upon closer look, it revealed its limited potential: a brief but crucial boost in movement speed, equivalent to a minor rank increase, for just three seconds after being injured.

"I don't remember ever mentioning about a skill name "Nutty Movement in my novel. "

"Judging by the skill's name, it seems to be a skill related to gaming."

The revelation was surprising.

Had fortune finally favoured me with an overpowered skill, even though it seemed modest at first?

The idea filled me with excitement and wild fantasies of the night I could use it.

I was so thrilled that I couldn't help but bounce around my room, considering the hidden potential of this seemingly unimpressive skill.

It was the kind of ability that could evolve from a weakling's trick into a game-changing advantage in life-and-death situations.

However, a harsh reality brought me back to earth. In this narrative world, I wasn't the main character with plot armour and a destiny for greatness.

I was just an extra, a minor character in the larger story.

This realization made me refocus my priorities.

Even if I had a promising skill, I couldn't make it my sole focus.

Survival was crucial, especially in a world where characters like me often met tragic ends.

As I thought about my future, I knew I needed a solid plan before entering the arcane academy.

The main character in the story, much like me, started as an orphan with lucky beginnings.

His admission to the academy was a stroke of luck, thanks to a miraculous system that gave quests and random talents and items.

Just before the important entrance exam for the Arcane Academy, he was sent on a random quest by the mysterious system, and it rewarded him with an incredible talent: SSS+.

His excitement about this amazing talent was short-lived.

Fate led him to help a seriously injured elderly man, Ian Bell, the headmaster of the biggest human academy in the land.

After nursing the old man back to health, the protagonist faces an unexpected offer – to become Ian's student and get direct entry into the respected Arcane Academy, skipping the tough entrance exam.

It was a twist in the story that was as predictable as the sun rising.

I couldn't help but roll my eyes at how unsurprising it all was.

These story elements have been used countless times.

However, I quickly reminded myself that being cynical wouldn't help me in this world.

Instead, I focused on practical matters.

Despite my low status, a D-rank talent was valuable in other academies, promising a comfortable future after graduation.

There was also the tempting 'Limit Eater' pill, rumoured to remove your limitations permanently.

But this path could change the story's direction, and I was torn about it.

"Fuck the novel and it's plot! I am the author, I will do whatever I want. "

Frustration built up in me, and I couldn't help but express my unhappiness with the novel's usual themes and the heavy burden of its pre-planned plot.

In a decisive move, I put on my shoes and grabbed my keys, which I had conveniently left by the apartment's door.

With each step, I held onto my resolution.

Since my reincarnation, I have promised to live life on my terms.

With knowledge of future events and the location of valuable items, I had a unique advantage that I intended to use to the fullest.

"Why should I care about what awaited me in the future? I have got a second chance in my life so I will enjoy it to my fullest. "
