34 Entrance exam (4)

League of Hunters HQ

-------------

In a dark room three figures sat behind the shadows of the room facing a young man who was around fifteen years old.

"Mr. Wanye, you know why we assigned you to this mission, even after knowing that you respect Bartholomew Henry Allen, so much?" one of them asked.

"My respect for Bartholomew Henry Allen won't affect my mission, I can guarantee you that. Ray Allen is a sprout that has the potential to destroy the world, if he goes rogue or becomes a victim to mind control. I will make sure to 'cripple' him." The young man answered.

"Sigh... I don't think we can make you kill him even if we try to... Very well, do as you wish." another one said.

"I don't want to kill an innocent kid for no reason. Thank you for showing your kindness, noble elders." The young man walked out of the room after bowing to them.

The Orange Zone (Entrance exam of Paragon)

-------------

After all the groups seperated in their own directions, the three of us headed towards a nest of mutants. The main objective of this exam was survival, however there was still a ranking system in this. The number of mutants we kill will be recorded by the drones, and hidden cameras around us.

The points will be distributed by comparing our strength level with the mutants we kill. If we kill a mutant which is less stronger than us, we will get no point. As that goes on we will get points from one to hundred according to the measuring system.

But... If we were to measure Sylvia's strength level, then her score would be zero, since she is stronger than any creature in this zone.

"Why the face?" I asked looking at Sylvia's sulken face.

"Will they not allow me in Paragon if I dont get any points?" Sylvia asked, hoping to hear a good answer.

"No they won't," I answered, her face sulked down even more. "Sigh... I will share some points with you."

"Really?! Thanks!" Sylvia jumped on my back, grabbing me from my neck, almost crushing my bones.

Keuk

She got off quickly, hearing me choke.

"Don't do that..." I muttered. 'Good lord! I almost choked to death.'

"Sorry..."

"Such determination is truly commendable." Ryuk commented.

'What are you on about?' I asked him.

"Didn't you do that to win her heart?" Ryuk asked.

'Huh?' I was confused.

"Huh?" Ryuk was confused.

"Huh?" John was confused... Wait... Why was John confused.

Thud

Before we knew it, Sylvia was lying on the floor on her face. Although, John tried to move his body, he met the same fate as Sylvia before he could react.

Thud

I activated my suit in an instant, dodging the tranquilizer dart shot towards me.

"He is quite the smart one." Ryuk remarked.

As I looked down, I saw my legs frozen with ice. However, I was already covered by my suit before it happened.

"Not fast enough, Savitar." I heard a voice above me as I saw a voice box attached to a tree. "You thought that I would give away my location that easily? Come on! As a descendent of Barry Allen, you have to be smarter than that."

Both Sylvia and John were knocked unconscious and my legs were frozen with ice at the same time. This guy prepared a contengency plan for each one of us. He set this trap to corner us for some reason. If he wanted us dead, he wouldn't have put both of them asleep.

He used kryptonite gas to knock out Sylvia and wolfsbane tranquilizer to knock out John. My suit can't trace any blood thirst in those attacks, this guy isn't after our lives... What does he want?

"Well, look how the tables have turned, I never expected a monkey to lead you to the end of your wits." Ryuk remarked.

I couldn't answer him. This was my mistake. All I had ever planned for was for my safety, I have never thought about the safety of my friends or those around me in the slightest... Monkey? Is he saying that I lost to a human... In terms of wits? How humiliating... I was angry at myself for letting such a thing happen to them but I didn't waver in the slightest.

At that moment, all I had in mind was the current situation.

"Activate flame cloak." I murmured as my whole suit caught on fire, melting the ice on my legs. "Are you from the League of Hunters?"

The voice box remained quiet.

"Did he run away?" Ryuk asked.

'I don't think so.' I answered. "Cool down."

The suit slowly got rid of the fire and sprayed foam all around me.

Crackle

In an instant, I searched the entire area and found the one I was looking for... A young man with black hair and black eyes wearing a black leather outfit, usually worn by hunters to increase their flexibility. There was no doubt... This man was Tom Wanye. The desendent of Bruce Wayne himself.

"Would you look at that. The hunter is now about to get hunted." Ryuk smiled menacingly.
