Thanksgiving break came fairly quickly, which made Austin nervous. They were in the car with Alaska and Miles, on their way to the airport. Austin was about to meet Takumi's parents for the first time, which terrified the girl.

"What if she doesn't like me?" She asked on the plane.

Takumi sighed. "That'll suck. For her. I don't care." He admitted.

"You don't?" She asked.

Takumi shook his head at his girlfriend. "I don't. So don't worry. If she doesn't like you, we'll pull a Romeo and Juliet." He told her.

"Without the dying?" She asked.

"Right. Nobody dies in the end." He reassured her.

Relieved, she lay her head down on his shoulder, fast asleep.

"Baby." Takumi called, followed by a light nudge. The plane had landed. Austin stood, stretching and waiting her turn to slide out of her seat to get her bag. Takumi slid out after here, reaching up to get his. He followed after her off the plane.

There his mother stood, a pretty Japanese woman with dark eyes and straight dark hair that fell to her shoulders.

"Takumi!" She called, more than ecstatic to see him. He smiled a weak smile, going to hug his mom. Austin stopped, letting them have their moment.

"You must be Austin, I'm Sakiko, but please, call me Kiko." She greeted.

"Hi, it's so nice to meet you." Austin replied, moving closer. Kiko pulled the blonde into a tight hug.

"Welcome to the family." She held tightly onto the girl.

Takumi smiled at Austin. It was only Friday; Austin was worried she was going to fuck up at some point during the break.

Kiko had a tiny two-bedroom apartment in the heart of town. It was extremely cozy and already decorated for Christmas. Austin looked around the place, the pretty lights sparkling around her. The first thing she noticed was the couch.

"Yellow suede." She noted, looking over at Takumi. "Is this why you like my couch so much?"

Takumi smiled. "Actually, your couch is why I like this one."

Austin's smile brightened. The yellow suede complimented the stone-grey walls beautifully. The living room portion had white carpet and the kitchen side had cream tile. Where most would put a TV, Kiko had a bookshelf covered top to bottom in a book collection Alaska would die over.

"Wow." Austin whispered.

"I know it's not much but-" Kiko started.

Austin shook her head. "It's beautiful." She mumbled.

Takumi's face laced with concern at the tears prickling in her eyes. She just smiled at him.

"Show me your room?" She asked.

"It's where you both will be staying; I hope it's all right." Kiko told her. Austin nodded.

"It's perfect." She replied. Takumi led her into the small hallway that was right off the living room. Straight was the bathroom, to the right was Kiko's room and to the left, Takumi's. He led her left, shutting the door behind them.

"You okay?" He asked. She didn't hear him as she was taking in the room in front of her. He had stone grey walls, just like the living room and a dark blue comforter draped over his full-size bed.

"I'm okay." She replied. She smiled at him as he opened the light wood dresser.

"Good." He said. "You can have the top three drawers, I'll take bottom three, okay?"

"Okay." She replied. Takumi turned to face her, going to stand in front of her. He cupped her face, pulling up to look at him from her position on the bed before leaning down. He kissed her quickly, going right back to putting their stuff away.

Maybe this wouldn't be so bad.
