Chapter 1

Sofia Rainfire opened her eyes excruciatingly after the same strange dream she has had for days and weeks. Always the same boy, with a face that was not visible and clothes in red – the colour of the Fire Nation. It didn't foretell anything good.

As a 16 years old teenager and the heiress to the throne of the Water Nation, her life wasn't easy. There were always power training lessons, and the only thing she wanted the least – casting spells in front of millions of people, and that was going to happen very soon.

She took a lock of long hair of her mystical-dark blue, almost black hair, and twisted it on her finger. She was very nervous.

It was only a week away from the International Magic Tournament and today was the Official opening ball, and because she was the princess of the people, Sophie was forced to take part. She got up from bed with great difficulty and dressed for a ride – one of her favourite activities.

As soon as she got dressed, the girl went in front of the mirror and looked at her face. Because of a lot of sleep and the fact that the dream was strange and frightening-exciting, it looked bad and with a tired expression.

She rushed to the bathroom and fixed her look. Sophie took a handful of water and splashed her face profusely, inserting a little magic to restore its freshness.

The effect was achieved, and it already seemed more normal. She tied her hair in a high ponytail, from which it shone slightly. Really weird hair. The girl made her bed quickly and looked around her room.

On the walls, there were paintings: of sunsets, constellations, horses, and everything that came to mind. There were also a lot of strange paintings that she couldn't determine what they were and what they meant.

Yes, at first glance she was a very strange person, and therefore she was too shy to speak in public or at all with people.

She left her room and headed for the stable, but she was picked up by the maid and her amah from a small one, Marnie.

"Good morning, child! Are you going to ride from dawn? You should come and eat first. I'm sure you're starving," she said, carelessly. She was always worried about eating well and always looking after her as a toddler.

"Marnie, I'm fine. I'm still not very hungry," Sophie replied. Because of the hard-recurring dream of a few days, she had no appetite and only wanted to ride.

"No, child. You can't do that. You should eat a little. Come on, come with me," and as soon as she said it, she grabbed her by the arm and dragged her to the kitchen. Wow! You can't argue with this woman! "I've prepared you a delicious pie with sea fruits. I know you're going to love it!"

With resentment, Sophie sat down on the chair and Marnie gave her two pieces of pie. The girl tried the piece and it turned out to be delicious. Their maid was fabulous in the kitchen – she always cooked incredibly tasty.

She ate both pieces, licked lips with pleasure, and smiled at Marnie.

"Thank you, you always cook beautifully and take care of me even in my strange teenage phases," Sophie laughed.

"Ever since you were a baby, I've been taking care of your family, child. It's my duty to you."

"Well, I'm going to go. I will see you at noon – and she hurried to leave before Marnie made her eat something else."
