Chapter 3 The end of an Era and a Letter
Severus, say where is the dark lord did he kill the potters, or did those blood traitors manage to escape somehow."
"He wasn't there and neither was the boy, but Lily and James Potter lay both dead on the floor. I saw the lord's wand before the child's bed."
"How can it be he would never leave his wand there." asks the slightly drunk man.
"I only know one thing, that the lord was not present" Severus replies.
"Could it be?" Asks Narcissa who is sitting next to her husband.
"If we assume that he fell today, we must consider what we are going to do now. I'm pretty sure the ministry and the order of the phoenix won't just stop fighting us."
"You're right Lucius we have to protect ourselves, or our family will go to Azkaban." Narcissa agrees, shivering at the thought of her sons in Azkaban.
"Severus it's time to go we need to let the others know that our leader may be gone.Narcissa and I will talk about the future, you should watch out for Wormtail. Keep him at home, he's a risk for us."
"I will go now" Says the pale white man, for him his whole world collapsed inside,⁵ but it wasn't the time to mourn, so he disapparate.
Narcissa rushes to the library to have her boy with her. He sat there in the same armchair as always.
It was quiet, so quiet you could hear a feather drop, just like Aurelius liked it. He was everything else glad he was being disturbed again when his mother told him.
"Aurel come with me immediately." she commands it with a firm voice. The boy would have wrinkled his nose, But he considered this behavior unseemly.
Taking the book with him, he struggles to get out of the chair and follows his mother upstairs to Draco's room.
She takes the hand of her little boy who was sleeping and the three of them go downstairs to the dining room which is adjacent to the kitchen.
Draco, clueless and tired as he is, is placed on his elevated chair by his mother. He lays his head on the table and continues to sleep.
Narcissa goes to her husband and talks to him while Aurelius claps his hands twice and a pitiful little figure appears.
"If voldemort is dead what do we do now we have to escape, submerge." Narcissa's first thought is to protect and hide the family.
"That would be too obvious I'll probably be put in front of the Wizengamot, I have to write some people that we can get out of there without taking much damage. I have to spend some money here and there, but we have to keep calm first."
*Timeskip 6 years and some months*
Like Lucius said, 12 days after the Voldemort has fallen he was brought to the wizengamot to face charges of being a subordinate of Voldemort and being a Death Eater.
He, like many others, pleaded that during this time they were under the immediate curse of the Imperius.
With a few favors here, a little money there, he was acquitted differently, e.g. Bellatrix Lestrange the sister of Narcissa and Voldemort's number two she gave her loyalty to Voldemort and threatened most of the Gamot to take revenge.
During this time, Severus became a proffesor at Hogwarts, teaching potions and swearing allegiance to Dumbledore.
*This Morning in the living room of the Malfoys*
"We wish you a happy birthday." Lucius and Narcissa celebrate Aurelius eleventh birthday.
Aurelius just got up, although he woke up earlier but was still reading.
When Aurelius entered the living room, he was surprised by his parents and around 10 gifts.
Aurelius hugged first his father and then his mother and said politely.
"Thank you mother, father. Thank you very much."
"Ok boy then unwrap your presents uncle severus is coming over today." Narcissa gave him permission.
The hogwarts professor never stopped teaching Aurelius and when he turned seven they started legilmentics. Just like his big brother, Draco started learning Occlumency and clearing his mind at the age of four.
Because the Malfoy family is an old, pure-blood and wealthy family, you must always keep a cool head and of course not let any Legilmency users enter the brain.
So Severus came by more often and trained the two in occlumency to protect themselves from such attacks.
During the week they read books and formed Occlumency Shields and on the weekends Snape would come and test them both.
Draco at nine years old had such shields at about the level of an eleven year old. Aurelius had shields of a well-trained fourteen year old.
Her uncle still describes Draco's shields as unimaginative and too uncreative. Not because the shields are weak, but because he uses his shields poorly. You can just imagine a bright white place where there is nothing just a sphere representing your mind.
To defend them, you build shields around them. Beginners often start with a single wall.
This becomes more walls until you have a box in which the ball is about expanding these shields creatively so that in the end it's a fortress in front of you.
But Aurel was even more interested in the art of penetration, Legilmency unfourtantly you need a magic wand to practice this and he didn't have one yet.
He asked his uncle, father and mother if he could borrow theirs and asked Dobby to find a wand for the house eleven once. The But he was always rejected, and Dobby brought him only a broken branch from the forest of the estate.
He was just waiting eagerly to get a wand and now that he was turning eleven the time had come when that was the normal age to go to school. The only question for the parents was which school they would go to.
Lucius wanted them to go to Durmstrang because this school was the only major school that taught the dark arts but Narcissa was able to convince him to let her go to Hogwarts since Durmstrang was far away.
Narcissa also taught her sons etiquette and manners - every member of a good family should know how to behave.
Aurelius seemed quite uninterested during this time. But tried his best not to make his mother feel bad. He even started learning to play the piano while Draco picked up the violin.

Aurelius POV
When I was finished unpacking my presents, I had put various of my things in my room, e.g. my first flying broom i have no experience and i don't like qudditch very much, but flying on a broomstick is extremely effective and easy to use, once you got it.
I also had Two new books, one about the advanced knowledge of Occlumetics, the other about the beginnings of a Legilimency practitioner.
One of the smaller gifts also included a holster for my wand, It was made from dark leather and was easy to put on.
One of the gifts included a necklace with the malfoy family emblem on it, the necklace was silver, of course I put it on and put it under my top.
In another gift was a dagger in its scabbard when I pulled out the dagger and the silver blade reflected my face.
A boy with a light pale Skin, silver platinum colored long hair that was tied at the back of his head. In his majestic bright purple eyes, his hair resembles a crown.

I slide the dagger back into its sheath and put it under one of my pillows lying on my bed.
The other gifts were filled with high-quality clothes shoes and other silver jewelry, of which I really liked a noble pocket watch and from then on I always carried it with me.
I sincerely thank my parents and then we ate a french cuisine specialty with uncle severus and later we did a short flight lesson with father and draco, we took turns once it was his turn then it was my turn.
So far we have only floated on one point, it was not possible to do more. Draco was quicker to process and incorporate my father's cues.
At first I had a problem with the broom alone, it took me six attempts to call the broom up.
That same evening father invited me into the parlor and spoke to me about a legacy, an inheritance and he gave me a signet ring with the same Malfoy sigil.
Virtually every pure-blood family has two, one borne by the current head of house and the other by the heir.
I put the silver ring on the index finger of my right hand and admired it. The tiredness on my face was clearly recognizable and so father sent me to sleep.
After I put on comfortable clothes I lay down in bed and Immediately fell asleep.

Stretching I wake up in the morning after washing my face and taking a shower, I'm really awake and go downstairs.
"Good morning" I greet my family as I sat down next to my father.
When I want to top my sandwich with freshly prepared salmon, I see the house owl take a seat on the window ledge and drop a letter with the Hogwarts wax sigil on the shelf.
"Aurel would you please take the letter in?" My mother asks me and so I go to the window, open it and take the letter in my hand, the letter is addressed to Aurelius Malfoy.
"Something important?" Father asks while reading the last prophet a newspaper in the magic world.

Term begins on 1 September. We await your owl by no later than 31 July.

I turn the letter over and read a list of things out loud.
