Chapter 14 Difficult Topic

*No pov*

It wasn't long before the first years were tired and decided to go to sleep.

The sleeping area located off to the side of the main room. It was a smaller, more intimate space that offered a sense of privacy and comfort to the students.

The sleeping area was separated from the rest of the common room by a set of heavy, green velvet curtains that could be drawn closed for privacy. Inside, there were several four-poster beds that were draped in rich, green and silver fabrics.

Each bed had a comfortable mattress, soft pillows, and thick blankets that were perfect for keeping warm on chilly Hogwarts nights. The beds were arranged in a circular pattern, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere.

The sleeping area also had several small tables and lamps, which allowed students to read or study before going to sleep.

"Cederic, I'm tired and I'm going to sleep. Tomorrow morning at 7am I will start exploring the castle are you interested?"

"Seven in the morning, Ahh why not." He mumbles wearily and lies down in the second bed on the right next to Aurelius's.

Even if Aurelius thinks that his bed at home is a lot better, it more than fulfills its purpose and starts dreaming right away.

He dreams of his magic wand, a large bird with vibrant, multi-colored feathers that shimmer in sunlight and a blue fire spreading around a place.

Aurelius woke up a little earlier because he didn't get up earlier at home and he went to wash himself and put on a new robe.

He looked at his pocket watch and when the hand showed seven o'clock he went to Cederic and woke up his sleepy friend.

"Ced it's seven o'clock get up and take a shower." He waved his hand wearily and whispered. "Five more minutes dad."

So far, only his father called cederic in the shortened form ced and it reminded him of his father.

Aurel looked around thoughtfully and found the solution. He went to his bedside table and took the glass of water from it and poured it over his friend who was lying in bed like a savage.

After the water from the glass spread on the head of the brunette boy, he suddenly woke up.

"Uhh what-what the fuck, Aurel?"

He only saw the outline of the person but knew it could only be his friend. The blond boy reached into his robe's inside pocket and pulled out his pocket watch, flipping it open and holding it up to Cederic's face.

"You see, we have seven o'clock as agreed." He taps the glass of the watch with his finger and Cederic rubs his eyes.

"Come on, Hogwarts is huge."

Like a dead zombie, he stretches and goes to the bathrooms.

*Time Skip*

"It's bloody dark down here." I complain as we walk through the corridors of the dungeon. It's cold down here, even for me, although I prefer winter and cold weather to warmth.

Cederic reaches into his robes and pulls out his wand.

"Lumos!"

After a simple flick of the wand, light came out of the tip allowing for a better view.

"So you can also do magic already?"

"Just a few beginner spells."

He admitted and we walked on, looking left and right down the aisle looking for something interesting. Father and mother told me about the myriad of secrets and mysteries that Hogwarts held.

In search of the unexplored, we go on a search. Right now that we're alone, I'll do some research and ask him.

"Cederic tell me how do you feel about our world, how do you feel about wizards, half-bloods and muggleborns? how do you imagine a perfect world and where do you stand?"

"Many questions."

We reach the end of a long corridor that splits left and right. Cedric leads with the light and I keep my wand out as well.

"Aurel would you please tell me what one of the weasleys were alluding to? One of those twins said in the chamber that, he knows what your family is."

"We rich men are proud of what our ancestors built and these ginger boys lack the money to buy new robes.

I have not lied about there situation poor almost pitiable, but they have confided in the wrong people."

Cederic stopped and I didn't go any further, he looked at me and asked.

"Wrong people? Who are they?"

"Lumos." I cast the light spell and walked on, Cederic following behind me.

"Just a few people who got lost."

Annoyed by the vague answer, Cedric continues asking "who do you mean exactly?"

"My friend, I don't think you are ready for that yet."

"I insist."

"Muggles or whatever I prefer to call them, mudbloods." Aurelius says it out loud without flexing a muscle.

No softening or long talk around. Both stop and look at each other.

"What do you mean by that?" Cedric asks with a confused look on his face.

"Cederic my friend, don't lie to yourself, you'd rather be like that girl in the closet? The girl that weasley sends idiots on and on because she can't stand up for herself?"

Just as he was about to answer, Aurel continues. "We are superior, The magic suits us more, it makes sense, we purebloods were born with magic and breathe magic in and out.

A mudblood doesn't even have the opportunity to fully exploit their potential."

Aurelius wore a fanatical almost insane expression but to the brunette boy's ears it made sense.

"There are also powerful magicians and witches who are not of pure blood." Cederic maks an objection.

"Of course there are some, but just to name a few purebloods we have Rowena Ravenclaw, Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Salazar Slytherin, Gellert Grindelwald and probably Merlin himself."
