17.First day at the Gym

For the day, Akira let his team rest and told them to be ready for a 3-day mission tomorrow. He went back to work on his manga.Looking at the manga he couldn't help but be amazed with the proficiency of his upgraded equipment.

He went to the manga shop to submit his new manga 'Hanzo Hiden: Road to Peace'.

"Here is the second part" Akira handed the draft to the store manager.

"Akira-kun you already wrote the next one. Let me see" He takes it and reads. After reading the last one he had high expectations for this one.

After reading it he closes it and takes a deep breath, "Akira-kun I still haven't received an answer about your first submission. So you can take your time writing. Although this one is good, it is not up to the standard of the last one. I think you can write a better one."

Akira although distressed understood the statement. He copied the Madara one from Naruto which made it more like a story on the other hand Hanzo one was written all by himself which made it a little more like a documentary rather than a story. He sends his clone to the village intelligence room to read about Hanzo to make the story more interesting. While he went to the weight training hall.

Entering he saw only a young woman at the reception desk, the whole place was devoid of people. The room was full of gym equipment and the place looked pretty clean. It was supposed to be used by chunin who were old enough to handle the physical strain but weak enough that they would grow stronger. But most of the ninjas in the village today are either genin or busy special jonin.

Handing his ID to the receptionist he entered. He placed his hand on the wall and says 'Upgrade'.

'Phew! Took half of my chakra! The result was worth it though.' he thought.

Just after 30 minutes of weight training. Akira was sweating heavily, in the humid atmosphere of the village the sweat was not going to evaporate. Putting the weight down, Akira sat on a bench he was taking deep breaths, his hand were trembling due to overexertion.

It was not that Akira was weak it was the effect of gym properties while the training effect was 500% meaning 30 minutes of training was worth 3 hours. The equivalent exchange made him use an equal amount of stamina causing him to get exhausted really fast.

Walking toward the exit he said goodbye to the receptionist.

"So fast!" the receptionist replied with a blank face.

Akira was already tired to the bone so he just ignored the heart-piercing words of the cute receptionist. He just waved goodbye.

"Take care and come again" the receptionist said in a monotone.

Patter!Patter!

Akira didn't even bother to wear his raincoat his clothes were made with special resin so water couldn't stick to them. This type of clothing was in high demand in the rain but only a few could afford it. The cold rain washed away some of his exhaustion. He always liked the rain it felt calming to him. Shaking his head to push away his thoughts and walked towards his home.

"I'm home!" he placed his shoes on the rack and changed into slippers.

Entering he saw his disciples packing up their stuff to go their respective houses.

"Where are you three going?", Akira asked.

"Sensei thank you for last night. Now we have to go home to be ready for the mission tomorrow" Ajisai replied.

"Hmm, why don't you get your stuff from your home and come back here? We can have dinner together and you can sleep here. We can go together in the morning." Akira said.

Fuyo: "But sensei?"

The three of them were hesitant, it's not like they had a problem with staying but it was the first sometime someone was so nice to them. The three had only each other from the time they were in the orphanage.

"Oh, don't worry. Most of the time it was only Angel and me. You all being here bring some colour to this house. And don't you want to sleep on the same bed again?" he asked.

Thinking of the refreshing sleep they had the three of them agreed to come back. After having a bath he looked himself in the mirror and noticed the small scar on his neck was gone. He checked other scars and they were still there. He felt that his skin has become softer.

'Must be the soft tissue manipulation. But how does it decide my skin needs to be soft? Looks like more observation is needed' he thinks.

He cooked a simple Japanese dinner for them. Although he normally ate spicy food in last life in his new life he decided to eat as the locals do or mostly Japanese food. Konan came first and delivered food to Nagato. After that, the trio of disciples came.

After Konan returned she helped him in placing the food on the table. After saying Itadakimasu they started eating.

Akira: "So what did you three do today?"

Ajisai: "Well we went to the orphanage we use to live in. Then we went to train some more."

"Well, you three are too nice. You should enjoy yourself a little. You are still kids." Akira advised showing a bored expression finding nothing interesting.

Konan asked him, "What did you do today?". Her facial expression was still plain but Akira could feel a mischievousness underneath her tone.

'Damn! The most painful trap is the one you know you will fall into.'Akira begrudgingly told them about his day.

"How much time did you exercise" Konan got straight to the point.

"30 minutes" Akira whispered.

The trio looked at each other remembering when Akira came home today he looked like he went through hell. They couldn't help but laugh.

The dinner atmosphere became pleasant with bickering between Akira and Konan. He even showed a copy of his previous work to them. Since he was tired the trio offered to clean the dishes Akira accepted help. He and Konan slept in her room while the trio went to Akira's room. Akira upgraded Konan's bed too.

Konan took a bath and entered her room seeing Akira sleeping. She couldn't help but smile. She guessed he must have used his powers in the gym making it harder to train. She lay by his side and kissed him on his cheek and switching the lights off she says, "Good Night"
