Ch. 6 A New Start

" Huh, another skill." I said to myself as I glanced at the book on the table after I finished cleaning the house and unpacked my books and clothes.

I wasn't surprised seeing another skill, but I should also try to limit the amount of skills to lessen the burden of keeping an eye on them.

' I should only learn the useful ones.' I thought as I tried to think a few skills that might be useful.

I pulled the bow and focused my mind on the deer between the two trees before releasing the string. The arrow shot through the air before making its mark into the deers neck.

The deer screamed and ran away with an arrow lodged in its neck.

I analyzed the place the deer stood and spotted the blood on the grass and followed it to the deer. After walking a short distance, I spotted the deer dead on the ground.

I pulled the arrow from its neck and placed it back into my quiver. I pulled the deer on a makeshift sled back to my house.

Using all my strength, I placed the deer on the table before starting to butcher it.

I skinned the deer even though the hide was better than last time. It was still valuable. I hung the deer up and started cutting the meat from the deer.

After making a bloody mess of the floor again, I began to wrap the meat and store it in a container to be sold and another portion for myself and Carla.

' Mabye, I should give them some fruits as well.' I thought as I looked outside the window to see the backyard that's also a garden.

Gardening has become one of my favorite hobbies.

After cleaning up the mess, I walked outside to take care of the garden and sprinkled a few crushed bones to the fruits and vegetables.

' One more week until harvesting.' I looked at the other plants to see a few ready for licking as I put them in the basket until I stopped and looked at half-chewed cucumber.

I looked at the paw print and used my eyes to analyze it.

I narrowed my eyes before I continued to look around the garden to find no more traces of wolves.

" I should get a fence." I told myself as I brought in the basket to be washed and cleaned for selling.

After cleaning the vegetables and putting the meat into my bag. I began to head to town and visit the Yeager family.

" Cain... you really don't have to do this..." Carla smiled as she took the basket and meat from my hands.

" Uh huh..." I gave her a blank look as I watched her looking at the meat and vegetables and fruits with a smile.

" Woah!!! We got meat!!!" Eren celebrated as he entered the room.

" Yes, yes. Why don't I make dinner before you leave." She said as I accepted and stayed for lunch.

Soon came Grisha, who smelled the aroma as he smiled.

" It seems we're having meat today." He said as he took off his coat and hat and his case before sitting down.

'He seems happy.' I thought as I noticed his small smile. After a few minutes, Carla finished making lunch, and Eren could barely hold himself back as he began eating before Carla smacked his head.

" Slow down, Mister!" She said as she sat down.

Eten just rubbed his head before going back to eating while grumbling.

After eating and saying goodbye, I left the house and went back home.

" Right, the fences." I mumbled as I looked outside and finally remembered what I was trying to remember at the market.

' Maybe I can build them myself.' I thought.

I took a look around the forest and the trees and decided to use them for the fence. But that would be for another time.

I continued to stare outside for a while, thinking of what I should be doing now, I'm still learning under Dr. Yeager, even if it's helping him with minor treatments.

I thought of a few ways to improve my living status and myself as well... but i have also been putting off my training.

I could do basic workouts, but it's not enough to keep improving with, I have a method or a training program for myself, but that will mean I'll have to remember my past. And think about it just makes me sick.

' But I don't I have a choice... no, I do have a choice, I could either stay here and let the world continue its path without me... or try.'

' Try.' That word sparked an old memory, I closed my eyes before opening them as I felt a wave of determination fill me.

I remembered the grueling training I was put through when I was a child when becoming a soldier. Despite hating every second of it, I couldn't deny my instructors advice and training.

" I guess it's time to put the Prodigy gift to its full potential." I muttered.
