Well, not too bad, if I do say so myself. It did take quite a lot of work, but this much progress during the pre-canon is quite reasonable. Why, you ask?

It's simply because there were no Quests other than the [Daily] and [Sudden], and, not to mention that one [Hidden] Quest.

So, over the last four years, after mercilessly toiling away for the sake of plot, I managed to accumulate around 6723 Gene Points. At first, it seemed like it was a lot, but, that was only until I actually started using them.

After careful consideration, I've been cautiously increasing each stat or level, precisely calculating and making use of the least amounts of Gene Points in the process.

And, after spending a whopping 2760 Points on [Stats] and [Level] combined and another 1070 Points on [Skills], I have about 2893 left. Years of hard work, used up in seconds…

Finally, that leaves the last two burning questions.

Why don't I increase my [Stats] further, which would make the [Training] Quest so much easier, and what do the stars beside my [Stats] represent. Luckily, they've got the same answer.

But before that, let's take a look into my [Reinforced Anatomy] skill.

<+>

[Reinforced Anatomy]

[Type: Special Passive]

[Summary: Increases regeneration rate and boosts metabolism of the human body.]

[Proficiency: 27.84%]

[*This skill has a registered Unique Ability]

<+>

The reason I have [Reinforced Anatomy] as my second best skill is due the fact that it is a [Special Passive], meaning, it was born to be OP. Literally.

I say this, solely because of this [Unique Ability].

<+>

[Unique Ability ;]

[Transcend: The user can permanently exceed the limits of a regular human body.]

<+>

And, the reason this ability is so important that I've had to give up 3 custom skill slots for, is because this world is f*cked up. There's no miraculous saviors or instant power-ups or things such as shounen breakthroughs with the power of friendship.

In simple terms, the stronger you are, the longer you live, and this skill was my ticket for survival.

Due to the fact that I was going to have at least 9 years before the canon started, I opted to make a slow growth skill with tremendous results at the max [Proficiency].

Meaning, once [Transcend] reaches it's full potential, then, I would, quite literally, be the strongest being in this world. See, I told you it was OP!!

And, as for the answers to those two questions, since I used to be a high-school student from the 21st Century, I'll take the example of Newton's Third Law of Motion

'For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.'

For example, say, when you shoot a gun, your hand experiences the same amount of force that the bullet does. This is why, sometimes, people fall on their asses while using shotguns.

Similarly, if my stats are too high, my seven year old body may not be able to handle the power generated and I might simply die.

Like, imagine I'm walking on the streets and my leg suddenly bursts like a balloon because I put too much strength in it… That's even worse than suicide.

And with that in mind, I made my [Reinforced Anatomy] skill, i.e., to slowly grow stronger and eventually transcend my human limitations. (I just hope I don't go bald on this journey…)

In simple terms, [Reinforced Anatomy] will act as a clutch that will allow me to use a power, far beyond the scope of that of my peers.

But, on the bright side, with the current skill proficiency, I can have a maximum of 15 stat points compared to any other seven year old, who would barely have 8. So, that's great, right?

All in all, my human limits are quite a shitty nerf, but still, I've got no choice but to live with it.

Anyway, walking out of another alley, I noticed a large crowd of people headed somewhere. People of all ages were rushed towards the Central Road in droves. Curious as to what had happened, I decided to follow them

"Oi Eren, let's go." And of course, I just couldn't leave the prat alone now, can I? Even if I did, Carla would never let me hear the end of it.

Eren complained at first, even though he trailed behind as we quickly followed after them. After catching up on their gossip, I realized what was happening.

The Survey Corps had returned today. Come to think of it, I might have heard about it from Carla.

But, what surprised me more was the people's reaction towards the Corps. It seems that they weren't hated as I thought, but instead the Survey Corps were held with quite a bit of reverence.

We quickly arrived at Central Road, stood on some wooden boxes and observed the surroundings. The sidewalk was packed with people, their eyes sparkling with anticipation and hope. Truly, a pity their hope would never be realized

Soon enough, with the Commander leading them, the squads arrived one after another as they marched on horses. I could even see a young Erwin in the back, leading his own squad.

The people cheered and squealed as soon as the Corps were within eyeshot. Congratulatory statements poured like rain as the crowd went abuzz with excitement.

Under the fervent cheers of the people, a tall man with short brown hair and light wrinkles seemed slightly upset, which was quite obvious to anyone who had eyes. This man was undoubtedly Keith Sadies, the 12th Commander of the Survey Corps.

Sadies looked quite distraught at the sight of the welcoming cheers. Well, I already knew why he felt like that, and also the fact that he had no right to behave the way he did.

'Well, their mission had no chances of success anyway.' I thought as I looked at the man with pity.

Keith Sadies' plan to construct a base outside the Walls had been successful in their last expedition. If I'm not wrong, this was why the people were looking at the Survey Corps with such reverence. But unfortunately, just as it was in the canon, this was one of his many failures.

And surely enough, as the last of the wagons entered the district, the look of the people changed. The cheers stopped as an eerie silence took its place.

Wagons filled with the injured, each missing a limb at the very least. And when the final one arrived, the public didn't even bother hiding their new-found hatred. Well, nobody would smile looking at piles of corpses, right? Maybe a pure titan might, but that's all.

Just looking at them made my stomach churn. People with bleeding stumps for limbs, people drenched in blood and finally, barely uncovered mutilated corpses. It was truly a gut-wrenching sight.

Now, under the looks of disgust and grimace, the middle-aged Commander bowed his head as he walked forward. As his face was dyed red with shame and embarrassment, he kept moving forwards, like his life depended on it…

The people, who had been cheering just a second ago, were back to gossiping and badmouthing the Corps, as if, what had happened were all just a façade.

"Big bro, who are those people?" Eren finally asked with eyes twinkling with curiosity. Of course, this brat is curious. He saw them come from the Main Gate, didn't he?

But, before I could speak, a middle aged man, who stood before us, replied, "Those idiots are just a waste of money, kid. It's better if you don't know them. Besides, you should leave now because things will soon get messy…"

Eren quietly nodded, as if he weren't interested anymore, but I could still see that subtle hint in his eyes. Consider it to be one of the perks of being twins.

Just then, the wagons stopped and they began unloading the corpses, just as I took Eren and left the place with quick steps. A few seconds later, as if on cue, cries of sorrow and pain resounded through the grim atmosphere of the streets.

Soon enough, we reached far into a familiar alley, where we couldn't hear the voices anymore. Without a word, we arrived at our destination, our home. Surely, it was enough adventuring for one day.

It was quite uneventful after that, with Eren asking obvious questions as Carla answered them. Later, we spent the whole day cooped up at home, spending time in leisure.

But still, today's events had quite an impact on both Eren and I. The brat was only interested in the Survey Corps while my thoughts were a little different.

Seeing Sadies and Erwin alive and younger did have a different feel to it. These characters, who had been chunks of pixels in the past, were now living, breathing people of this world.

This world was now my reality, and that I was literally in a Survival Hardcore mode, meaning no more second chances.

Today, I was once again reminded of the fact that I was a reincarnator, that I had already died once, that no matter how strong I get, I would still die in less than 20 years.

'But, that doesn't mean I can't enjoy this life, right?' I mused to myself. To be honest, I like this life much, much better than my last one!
