30 minutes earlier

Eren's POV

"Damn it's been about 40 minutes and they haven't shown up." said Jean

"Michael didn't even come in yet." said Annie

"Calm down, I'm sure they'll be here." I said

"Armin got anything?" asked Mikasa through the earpiece

"All clear here." replied Armin through the earpiece

"Look, helicopter approaching." said Jean

I look out the window and see a helicopter hovering over the top of the tower.

"Michael is in." I said through the earpiece

"Do not move out of your spots until you see Ghost team." said Levi

"Where's Recon?" asked Jean

"I don't know, she's at her own station I guess." I replied

I lay back against my seat and look around just for any signs of Ghost team. I look around and see civilians enjoying their time here. I see kids playing with their parents and having so much fun.

'I miss you mom.'

"Eren, look alive you look sad." said Annie

"Sorry must be tired." I chuckled

That's when I see the OKO Tower go completely dark.

"Wait, what happened?" asked Jean

We all get out of our cars and look up at the tower. It was completely dark, like no one was home.

"Captain what happened?" I asked through my earpiece

"I don't know, but stay in your position, you might miss them." replied Levi

We got back in the car and just continued watching the streets. About 7 minutes later the lights came back on the OKO Tower.

"Must have been some power difficulty." said Annie

"I can't really rely on technology." said Jean

Jean yawns and tucks himself in.

"I hate undercover work that forces me to sit in a car and watch." said Annie

"I think everyone in this car hates it Annie." replied Mikasa

"I guess I'm not the only one." said Annie

"How's Ashley and Brooks doing?" I asked

"Let's just say they're giving my dad more white hair." said Annie

I laugh and Jean raises an eyebrow.

"What about Damion?" I asked Jean

Jean chuckles nervously and looks at Mikasa who's giving him the emotionless death stare.

"Well, he's eating a lot." replied Jean

"Is he getting his face slowly looking like a horse." I snickered

Mikasa pinches my cheeks and I shriek.

"Damion looks like me not him." she bluntly said

"Yes ma'am." she lets go and I rub my cheek

That's when the tower explodes and I jump up from my seat. The middle of the tower explodes and erupts in flames. More explosions continue to explode making its way up. Civilians begin to scream and run away from the OKO Tower. I get out of my car and look up at the tower as I could hear the tower groaning as it slowly starts to tilt. Debris was falling from the sky making it dangerous for the civilians around it.

"Eren, Annie shift and protect the civilians!" yelled Levi in my earpiece

I nodded towards Annie and we run to an alley and shift there since no one was around.

Jean's POV

"Get the kids off the streets!" I yelled

I began to shout at the civilians to get off the streets and into shelter. Some of them listened but some of them were too scared to listen that they kept running away. I see a kid trip and fall so I run and pick him up. I run to a nearby apartment where his parents were frantically trying to call him.

I ran back onto the streets and look up to see the tower start to collapse. Flames erupting from inside and outside the building. I also see some bodies of Russian soldiers falling down from the sky and hitting the concrete floor.

'Oh god.'

"Jean we gotta move!" yelled Mikasa

Eren and Annie were transporting some civilians far enough from the impact of the tower. I began to run away from the debris with Mikasa next to me.

"What the hell is Ghost team doing?!" I asked

"I don't know!" she yelled back

Eren runs up from behind us and picks us up and ran away as fast as he could. The building collapses right behind us and the debris nearly knocks Eren off his feet. Dust and ashes were flying everywhere around us but we were alive.

"Scouts team 104, roll call." said Levi

"1st squad all here." said Hange

"2nd squad all here." said Mike

"3rd squad we barely made it out but all here." said Armin

"4th squad all here." I said

I began coughing from the dust and ashes as Eren sets us down. Annie was nearby and she sets down some kids who began to run away once she sets them down.

"Jean, we got Ghost team!" yelled Armin through the earpiece

"Go it, moving to you." I replied

Eren picks us up again and we head over to Armin's location where a bunch of Russian reinforcements were, ambulances and new reporters. In the middle of all that was Ghost Team on their knees and their hands on their heads.

"Jean, Mikasa thank God you're okay!" yelled Armin as Eren sets us down

"We're fine." said Mikasa

Eren and Annie get out of their titan form and we approach Levi.

"Where's Colonel Ghost." I asked

Levi looks at us and shakes his head.

"He's missing but Langston made it out." said Levi as he points to him.

Langston was with Ghost Team as they were being handcuffed. Recon was in front of all of them and talking to them.

"Crap." said Eren

"Russian search teams were already deployed." said Levi

All of us approach Ghost team 117. All of them looked miserable especially Phantom who was looking down and tears where visible on the concrete ground.

"Where's Ghost?" asked Levi

None of them replied so Recon kicks Phantom in the face.

"Where is he?" asked Recon

"Dead." whispered Kit, "Gave his chute to Langston."

Recon grabs Kit's hair and pulls him up but his eyes were telling the truth as they were welling up with tears. She lets him go and he starts crying.

"You put those explosive there." said Phantom, "Why?"

"Had to take the risk." said Recon

"You set off those explosives?" asked Eren

"Yes." replied Recon

"Why there were civilians everywhere!" yelled Hange

"Who's land do you think you're on?" asked Recon, "This is Russia not Eldia."

That's when three Russian approached us, carrying a stretcher with a body on it that was covered with a white covering it. They lower the body and start talking to Recon in Russian.

"What are they saying?" asked Levi

"Uhhh, they said they found this body and they couldn't pull out a DNA sample but they were able to pull out the blood type and it was blood type A." said Armin

"Why does blood type matter?" asked Connie

Recon approaches the body and lifts up the white covering to reveal a whole burnt body that was still smoking. That's when I noticed a straight line across the left eye.

"Looks like this is Ghost." said Recon

"No that can't be he wasn't burnt he fell to his death." said Phantom

The Russian soldiers said something and Recon translated.

"The body was found under a part of the burning tower, that's why his body is burnt." said Recon

"No that doesn't prove that that's him." said Marksman

That's when Recon tilts her head and pulls up the white cloth a bit more and pulls something out of the body. She reveals it and it was a dog tag that was half burnt. She tosses it to Phantom and Phantom looks at it.

"That's Ghost's tag." said Recon

Phantom shakes her head and looks at Recon as tears began to fall down her face. She then starts bawling and screaming like it was the end of the world. It was too hard to watch so I lowered my head.

"If you haven't set off those fucking explosives he would have still been alive!" yelled Marksman

Recon knees Marksman face and he falls backwards.

"I wanted him dead." growled Tessa

"Fuck you, you take my kids, and now him." growls Phantom

"He took away my parents and Malvik." snapped Recon

Kit lunges at Recon and crashes into her and starts kicking her.

"Don't. Fucking. Say. His. Name!" yelled Kit

The Russian soldiers push him off and start beating him with their guns and batons, hitting him over and over again.

"Take them to Eldia, I'll be interrogating them." said Recon

"I'll have your head for this." growled Juggernaut

"I want to see you try." Recon growled back

"These are our prisoners." said Levi

"Ghost team are always my prisoners, no one else's." snapped Recon, "I'll let you have your turn after I'm done."

"Uhhh, ma'am permission to speak." said Armin

"Permission rejected."

Recon gets in a truck and it drives off leaving me pretty pissed off.

"What were you going to say Armin?" asked Eren

"Well, I was going to ask if this means it's all over." said Armin

"We still have to find this so called Demon man." said Levi

"What do you think she's going to do with them?" asked Sasha

"Let's hope she doesn't kill them." said Hange

Eren walks up to the exact place where Ghost team was kneeling and picked up Ghost's dog tag and put it in his pocket.

"Let's go." whispered Mikasa

2 hours later

Ghost's POV

I stop the car in the middle of a lonely dark freeway and just began to cry.

"I'm sorry Emily, I'm so sorry." I sob

I pull down my bandana and began to muffle my cries with my hand.

'Malvik, I failed you again, goddammit I failed all of you.'

I put my head on the wheel and tried to calm down. But I began to hear quiet footsteps coming near me. I pulled up my bandana and cocked my pistol just in case something happened. I looked at the rear view mirror and saw a dark human figure no not just one, but multiple.

'Did they follow me? No way I know when someone follows me.'

They got closer and I saw that they had guns in their hands so I got ready until one man greeted me in Russian.

"What happened is there something wrong?" he asked

"No I'm fine." I replied

"Okay sir just wondering cause you just stopped." he replied

He shined his flashlight at my face and I looked away because of the brightness.

"Are you a cop sir?" he asked

"Yes, undercover." I replied

He aims his gun at me with the others.

"Get out of the car!" he yelled

I counted about 5 men surrounding the car so I got out but I noticed that these men aren't any part of the military. They had baggy clothes and rusty weapons that looked that they were civilians.

"Who are you?" I asked

"Can't you tell, we're the rebels open your damn eyes."

"Ah the rebels then I guess I can show you my real identity." I replied

"Eh?"

"I'm an American, if you don't trust me here's my military ID card." I said

I slowly pull out my wallet with one hand and the other just to assure them that I'm not going to hurt them. I pull out my ID and hand it to him so he takes it and examines it. I see his eyes lit up and he looks at his comrades.

"You're Captain Ghost?!"

Everyone starts chattering and looking at one another in surprise. I nod my head in response they began to gasp and start cursing in surprise.

"Why are you here, aren't you a fugitive it's dangerous here." he asked

"I had some business to do but I'm going to need your help to get my team back." I replied

Honestly I don't trust them, they could easily turn me in but I didn't have a choice.

"Of course, come come we have a camp a few miles north from here." he said

"Wait." I said

I take out a grenade, pulled it and threw it in the car. We jogged off as the car exploded into flames and into the forest.
