The One Who Holds the Founder
1500 years have passed since the events of rumbling, but of course war didn't end. War still remains something humans still pursue to attain their "Freedom". Many cities were bombed and destroyed and many lost their lives. Even between the war, there was one who strived to survive and walk forward. Krieg Gründer, an orphaned child, who lost his parents to war and was crushed by hatred of the world. He stumbled through the destroyed city, searching for food and water. Suddenly his dog started running in the direction of a forest just a little bit further, Krieg ran after him.
Krieg : Hey! Wait!
Running after him, he ended up inside the forest. Knowing there was no hope of finding water or food in the city, he continued inside the forest. After searching for hours, he stumbles across an abnormally long tree with a huge opening at the base of it. Krieg just stood there looking at the tree, admiring it. It was enormous and abnormally tall, much taller than all the trees around it. He walked forward, curious, he carefully peeked inside the opening and saw a huge and deep hole inside the tree, which seemed bottomless. The hole contained water, Kruger knew that as he could her water droplets falling into the hole and making splashing sounds. He knew there was water, but he couldn't just jump in. Remembering he had a rope inside his bag, he took it out, tied one end around one if the roots surrounding the hole and tied the other end around his waist. He grabbed his bottle to fill in the water and jumped in. He reached close enough to the water to be able to fill the bottle. He opened his bottle and started filling it. What he didn't know was what waited ahead. The root the rope was tied to, started to shatter, having been dried for very long. It snapped and Krieg fell into the water, he struggled and tried to get out, but just went deeper and deeper. When he felt his life and consciousness slipping away, he felt something at the back of his neck. He could barely turn around but managed to peek behind and to see a weird large worm. It was the Hallucigenia. It was long, slimy and had a strange green glow. Being a child, the worm freaked Krieg out and he started struggling more with the last bit of strength. The Hallucigenia started crawling around his skin and body, making Krieg disgusted as he lost his consciousness. The Hallucigenia crawled under his shirt and aligned itself to the spine of Krieg. After aligning itself, it got absorbed into Krieg's skin and became part of his spine. As soon as that happened, a huge lightning hit the tree and reached Krieg's transforming him into a huge creature, A Titan. And so Krieg Gründer, became The One Who Holds the Founder now. He roared loudly, and there is no one who wouldn't have heard him nearby and of course there was someone who was looking at all this unfold, surprised.

Hello guys, this is just something I wanted to personally work on since last year, I know my other story is ongoing as well, but this story is the reason why I haven't been able to upload the other one, The Hidden. After AOT ended, I couldn't stop thinking about the cliff-hanger-ish situation we were left on after extra pages came out, I wondered...what if ? So here I am, writing my what-if. For now, I'm writing it for fun, but if this story gets enough attention and people want to read more of it, I'd like to make it into a serious fan-made sequel and actually create a whole story. For now it is a just-for-fun project, and will be added to every once in a while. And about The Hidden, I'll be continuing that soon. For people who think that maybe i'm ruining their experience and memories with original AOT or any feeling similar to that, I must say that, please leave and don't read it, its that simple, please don't create a drama over something I wished to do since the end of the manga. Please leave if you don't want to read it and let those who do want to read it enjoy.
