CHAPTER - 7 { Wall Breached! }

Vlad leaned on the wall, his eyes were closed and his arms crossed over his chest.

He could hear all the sobbing and frustrated conversations of the newly graduated soldiers.

There was a faint smile on his lips. It wasn't even a day as he stepped out of the training camp and the wall had already been breached.

Was it his misfortune?

Or fate?

"Soldier Vlad."

Woermann, the captain of the Garrison Regiment's 1st Division Elite Forces. He appeared together with a few soldiers.

"Sir!"

Vlad saluted and stood in front of Woermann. It seems his mission is ready.

"You are assigned to stay in the headquarters and protect it with other soldiers."

Personally coming here to give the mission, Vlad understood the action of Woermann.

This was special only for the number 1 in the ranking of the cadets.

"Yes, sir!"

Vlad nodded his head and saluted once again. Woermann then left the headquarters with a tense expression.

Wuss!

Vlad used the ODM gear to climb the top of the headquarters building and settle down.

He sat down and gazed at the wall which had a 8 meter big hole, the breached one.

A few titans had already entered the walls while there were many more to come.

The bright sunlight shone on these titans as they managed to catch some citizens to eat.

The vanguards, consisting of Eren and others, charged their way towards these titans.

"Haaah…"

A long sigh escaped Vlad's mouth. He closed his eyes and started thinking about his next actions.

"To guard the supplies…"

It wasn't difficult, but the longer time passes, more titans will start reaching here.

"Hurry! Get the supplies ready for any moment!"

"Don't slack off!"

"Get yourself together!"

Below, the soldiers were in a rush. Some panicked a lot while some couldn't even calm down.

"These people will likely die early."

Muttered Vlad, he looked below with his black eyes. Observe the situation then take actions.

"Soldier Vlad!"

On another roof, a small group of soldiers called out Vlad who sat all alone at the top of the building.

Press.

The two hooks launched out and pierced through the wall of a three story apartment.

Wuss!

Vlad's figure immediately blurred out as he swung towards the group of soldiers.

Thud.

As he landed on the roof, he noticed that this particular group consisted of 6 experienced soldiers.

"What's the matter?"

Asked Vlad. He could see that the group of soldiers appeared a little anxious and tense.

"Soldier Vlad, we will have to reinforce the rearguard in helping them evacuate the civilians. For now, you will be in charge of protecting the headquarters."

Vlad narrowed his eyes at the man's words. Reinforce? What a joke!

Almost half the soldiers who were supposed to stay in the headquarters had left to support the rearguard.

"But there won't be enough soldiers to defend it if the titans came in."

Vlad looked towards the titans which were still moving forward towards them slowly and said.

"Soldier Vlad, you have no right to question my orders! I was only informing you about our decision. Now return back!"

The soldier, who was the leader of the group, spoke with anger in his voice.

Then they all left Vlad on the roof heading towards the rearguard.

"Cowards. I will remember your faces…"

With an evil grin, Vlad stared at those soldiers. The white lines in his eyes widened again.

Vlad learned that he could use this power to see the future of someone else as well.

But the price was bigger to pay.

"I can use it a few more times until it affects my combat."

With the help of his personal ODM gear, Vlad climbed the headquarters building once again.

Boom!

A huge titan, about 15 meters tall in height. It stomped its foot and crushed a vehicle.

"Hwaaa!"

As it roared, saliva splashed out of its mouth. It then saw a huge building at the center of the town.

"Hwaaa!"

It swung its arms and destroyed a few buildings on the way. Many vanguard soldiers tried to kill it but were unable.

It was due to the fact that this particular titan was quite agile and had great response to its surroundings.

"What do we do? It's heading towards the headquarters!"

The soldier asked with a despair filled face, he tightly gripped the handles.

"We must stop it here or else the headquarters might be destroyed!"

A female soldier said hurriedly as she leaped from the top of the building and glided the way to the titan.

"Hope! Be careful!"

The female soldier, Hope, heard the voice of her teammates. She slid towards her left and avoided the left arm of the titan.

"That was close!"

Her teammates who followed closely sighed in relief seeing Hope not getting hit by the titan's arm.

"It's going to reach the headquarters! Kill it!"

Hope shouted, she shot the hooks of her gear in the titan's back and released the high pressure gas to give her boast.

"Ahhhh!"

Hope stared at the titan's nape with killing intent, but another titan suddenly jumped towards her.

"No way! When did!'

Not just Hope, but her teammates also couldn't understand when this titan had arrived.

It was a three meters tall titan, the smallest of all titans so it could possibly have hid in between the buildings.

"Move!"

As Hope was filled with despair, a figure pushed her away from the small titan's range.

The entrance of this male soldier caught Hope off guard as she stared at him with wide open eyes.

Wuss!

The young man shot his hooks on the small titan's eyes, as he swung towards the bigger titan.

Slice!

He held his blades in a V-shape position. When the blades cut through the bigger titan's nape, a huge chunk of flesh was sliced off.

Press.

The young man quickly changed his direction and released the gas in two short bursts giving him a quick momentum.

The hooks in the small titan's eyes were pulled back in his gear. Spinning around and dodging the titan's hand, he stared at its nape.

Slice!

Once again, the young man cut a big piece of flesh from the titan's nape which killed it instantly like the other one.

Thud.

The young man landed on the roof of a house. Hope who managed to stabilize herself somehow came to the ground.

Everything happened so quickly that she and her teammates couldn't process it.

"H-He killed them so fast!"

"Unbelievable!"

Her teammates were stunned and greatly shaken. Never have they seen someone kill a titan so fast.

Hope stood like a statue on the ground, her eyes staring at the young man on the roof.

Vlad looked down on the female soldier with a completely indifferent face.

It would have been troublesome if the titans had managed to breach even the headquarters building.

The supply groups were transporting the gas from the back so they didn't see what happened at the front.

The 15 meter tall titan occupied all the space on the road next to the headquarters.

"This should be able to block the smaller titans for a while until the evacuation is complete."

Muttered Vlad. Just as he was about to return to the top of the headquarters building, the female soldier called him.

"Hey, thank you. What might your name be?"

She climbed the house and came beside Vlad. Her eyes easily showed her gratitude towards Vlad.

If not for him, today would have been the last day she saw the sun rise up.
