Waking Up

It was the year 845, and far beyond Wall Maria, deep inside a dark forest, a young boy of eleven opened his eyes.

Gleaming crimson pearls gazed up at the tree canopy, as the boy tried to recall how he had gotten there.

The last thing he remembered was his mother taking him away from their house and deep into the woods.

Struggling upright he quickly spotted the small cottage he and his mother shared, a small smile formed on the boy's face and he ran towards it.

Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted a gigantic dark figure hidden deep in the forest, it was at least 10 metres tall with freakish features.

It was nothing new to him, so as his mother had taught him he stayed as quiet as possible and didn't panic.

Reaching his home, the boy swung open the door, "Mother, I'm home." but no response came.

He frowned and closed the door behind him, "Mother?" again there was no response.

Fear began to form in his small heart, as he advanced through the house.

It only consisted of three rooms, the main room, which included the kitchen and dining area, his room, and his mothers.

He searched each one thoroughly, but there was no sign of her, "MOTHER!"

Running back out of his house he looked around, again there was no sign of her.

That was when his eyes fell on the titan which was slowly walking towards him.

"No." he whispered, "no, no, no, no, no."

Tears began flowing down his cheeks and he stormed back inside his house only to return one second later with a blade nearly his size.

Rage started to cloud his usually clear mind, and in one sudden move, he bolted towards the titan.

"I'LL KILL YOU!"

The smile on the titan's face only enraged him even more, and a fury filled scream erupted from his lungs.

He was only a few metres away when the titan reached down and tried to grab him, but thanks to the years of training his mother, Elina, had put him through, he was able to avoid it by jumping onto the titan's arm.

He had just passed the titan's elbow when its other hand came out of nowhere and grabbed him.

"I'LL KILL YOU, I'LL KILL YOU!" he continued to scream at the top of his lungs as the titan brought him to its mouth.

He tried to struggle free but it was hopeless as the titan opened it's jaws and threw him inside.

The boy screamed as he hit its massive slimy tung, the massive teeth closing around him.

Raising his sword he began hacking at the titan's mouth.

"I'LL KILL YOU!"

It was then in that hopeless situation surrounded by blood and flesh, that a switch in his mind was flicked.

He felt a cool sensation rush through his body and his mind went totally calm, "Die."

With that, he jumped towards the titan's throat and two quick slices later a hole had been cut through the monster's nape, allowing him to escape.

He jumped out and landed on the falling titans back as it hit the ground with a loud boom.

The boy gazed down at his hands as felt power rushing through him infusing into his muscles and becoming part of him.

"I said I'd kill you." he said, tears streaming down his face.

Dropping his blade and falling to his knees, "Mother I've avenged you, I killed it just like you taught me."

He slowly reached up and held his face in his hand, lent back and screamed his sorrow to the heavens.

"AHHHHHHHHHHH!" tears of blood flowed down his neck bathing the, there, wrapped bandages red.

He moved his hands down his face, leaving a trail of blood behind.

Another scream erupted from his lungs and he slammed his fist into the titans back.

"I'll kill you, I'll kill every last one of you… YOU DAMNED DEVILS!"
