69 Meeting an old acquaintance

He smiled faintly, "Tafari, you are not are not done with your mission?"

Tafari's dark eyes watched him carefully and finally said, "You are not dead?"

Xaloc gazed at him, after six months he could tell that when Tafari asked if he was dead, it was his own way of showing concern.

"I am quite well, thanks. After you left, those church members came to look for you twice, why don't you want to join?"

"No time. They are mad."

Xaloc also choked with laughter. He had always considered himself as an honest lad but wasn't Tafari a little too frank?

"They are really mad." Xaloc could not help but add.

Tafari nodded, "Saw some of them in the forest, they were harvesting."

"Harvesting?" Xaloc asked curiously at the strange words.

Tafari nodded, "Materials. For a sacrifice."

Xaloc thought about it before he dismissed his thought. It was not his business after all.
