11 Two years, progress (edited)

It had been two years since the party and event which showed my strength. I had trained and practiced hard during these years. However my sunshine had hardly developed as it levels increases so does its rate at improving, all my waking moments are spent under the sun.

This is a personal issue as my talent related to fire abilities and rate at which my physique grows comes straight from its level. Even so my control over fire as well as my ability to manifest it have improved by leaps and bounds over the last 2 years . Another thing I released is that my talent doesn't work for lightning bending.

Combustion would in theory works just fine, however it would require me to have those dumb looking tattoos. even so I am determined to learn lightning bending.

The finial reason for my lack of progress in Lightning bending is due to no real teacher is currently in the fire nation, although there are scrolls and I perfectly understand the premise and developmenting my own understanding a visual demonstration is always nice.

The current date is 2 days after my birthday, Azulon and Ozai think I'm strong enough to participate in the war. Apparently 'a lack of royal presence on the front lines lowers moral' Ozai might be irritating but if I was any other child this would be a death sentence.

So I'm preparing to leave for Ba sing Sa in the coming . Iroh still wished for me to wait a few more years but even so he promise much to his displeasure as he didn't wish me in harms way. However Iroh was a man taught to honor his word and so after a long time of internal conflict Iroh let me go.

A positive however was my relationship with Azula it had progressed magnificently. A few months after my seventh birthday she confessed and inside I was happy but we were so young so I've put of doing anything intimate but doing small things to keep her feeling alive.

We went on a few dates in fancy restaurants and even went to see the avatar version of broadway which as a modern person was quite disappointing. It was all just propaganda about the war and the fire nations greatness. Quite disappointing

We mostly spent our time training or playing card games as a group. Balakin also lost his job after Zuko finally could beat him with 100% confidence. All three of us where better then elite imperial firebenders with majoring differences.

So I took to teaching Azula as she was a warrior at heart just like me. Zuko started to study war tactics as he wanted to follow Iroh in becoming a tactician and leader.

After around 4 months of teaching Azula she was able to create blue flames, the fire sages said that we where both blessed by the spirits of Agni. They claimed this was a sign that soon the fire nation would win the war. The fire nation also decided to announce this to the world in an attempt to demoralise other nations. This however didn't work and just made us a target for assassination.

~Dock of the fire nation capital~

"Are you ready to leave mael" Iroh turned to me standing next to his son Lu tan. " I am father let me say my final goodbye to Azula." Walking back onto the dock I found Azula, Zuko, Ty Lee and mai waiting for me.

Over the years we had all grown quite close. As I became a bridge for Azula and Zuko to connect. She was also much kinder towards Ty Lee and Mai. Ursa didn't have to many problems with Azula as well due to me being around which I know Ursa new and that was why she treated me kindly.

Every time she started to act spoiled or bratty I'd make fun of her. 9 times out of 10 it end with her playfully attacking me and me running around her avoiding hits.

Looking at Azulas' face I couldn't help but sigh inwardly.

" Azula I know our relationship has just started but this is something I must do. I wish to stand at the pinnacle of all fire benders and to do so I must taste battle." Returning my stare with a sad yet understanding look she nodded meekly.

" I know and I'll wait for your return or join you on the battle field. However, make one promise okay?" Giving a her an nod to continue " you can't fall for anyone else whist their and your first kiss has to be me, so ever when you return or I join you." Even tho it started of meek a cruel possessive look soon covered her face. I could tell she'd probably kill anyone who tired to take me from her.

agreeing not to give any other girls attention I gave her a finally hug which she happily returned with a silly smile before re-borading the ship. After a 15-20 minutes the ship finally set off for our destination, the earth nation.

Azula pov

Watching as the ship disappears into the distance I couldn't help but be disappointed, I wanted to continue to grow with him but I feel it's not enough. " maybe I should try harder"

Just as the ship was out of sight I hear Zuko mutter aloud. " why'd I even show up, he didn't say anything to me" and then Ty Lee " I second that" even mai " same here"

Turning with a smug smile I could t help but answer. " Simple! I'm his favourite"
