Arriving at the Capital

~~~~~~Few Days Later~~~~~~

"...What do you think?" I asked Qingyue who was sitting next to me.

"..Hmm?" She looked at my work. It was a drawing of a cultivation tower I will be building soon.

"...Are those waterfalls?" she pointed at the tower's surroundings.

"Indeed. I came up with a way to make more Profound Energy from flowing water."

One of her elegant eyebrows went up.

"Is this even possible?"

"Do you want to see one of the early models?" I asked with a small smile. I was almost teasing her.

"No. I don't care. We still have three days to go. So I want to spend time together like this." She said as she moved on my lap, put away the drawing before snuggling and starting to snooze.

"...Sure…"

I wrapped my hands around her and proceeded to snuggle as well.

This was what we had been doing apart from dual cultivation and making some snacks from time to time. Just snuggling and taking these naps outside under a tree.

"Hmm, why don't we play some games."

"Games?"

"Yep. Let me make some."

With hand motion, I created a table and then solidified it with runes and casually threw a crystal rod to keep it stable.

Once done, I proceeded to make two chairs. Once I was done, I started to make tabletop games. 

One I have in mind is crosswords. Maybe something similar to Monopoly later, but that stuff requires one to know a city… I could use Floating Cloud City…

But oh well…we can play with words first.

"...This is?"

"Let me explain."

I swiftly started to explain the rules to her. Each of us has pieces with letters on them and then we use them to make words.

"...Okay…I understand."

…

"Again."

…

"One more time."

…

…

"I won't lose this time!"

"...Yes!!!"

Qingyue exclaimed happily as she was almost jumping up and down.

I could only snort in amusement. Such happiness from a simple game.

"...Shall we play again!?"

I could roll my eyes and point at the sun.

It was setting down. We have been playing for around 4 hours now.

"We can do it tomorrow."

She swiftly nodded before walking back and starting to clean up the word pieces. For this, I made a small box from barriers with a lid.

"...Husband…do you make everything with your barriers now?" She asked me with a strange look.

"Yeah? It's more durable than some random materials." I said quite seriously, this stuff is good and I constantly level up my Profound Projection.

"...Oh makes sense, but will it last that long?" She asked with a small amount of concern. Did she get attached to the game this much already? This made me slightly concerned about her. The girl's exposure to anything is pretty abysmal.

Yep, I think it's time to expose her to more games!

"Don't worry about that. We can ask the contribution hall to make some proper games from wood."

"Un!"

Days moved on, and Qingyue and my time was over. It was time to get back to work.

Originally, I thought about making a waterfall from the mountain, but that was thrown out of the window when I remembered waterfalls from video games, movies, tv-series.

The one which stuck with me were the waterfalls in the Star Wars Andor TV series. 

In simple terms, just dig a hole in a body of water. It will turn into a waterfall from ALL directions. 

However, the issue is that we are on a floating island with limited depth. 

So, I can't just dig ten or twenty floors down. 

'Wait, let me calculate this.'

I flew back into the core formation which keeps us afloat.

This was where I calculated how deep I could make the hole.

'Heh… and I worried that I could fall… ' I snorted myself. Yeah, I could easily dig ten floors down.

Though not at the edge… close to the clan it could go down around 20 floors. 

I already have an idea of which pond to expand and make into a waterfall…hole? With a tower standing in the middle.

With a new plan in mind, I proceeded to start working.

"Look! That's the capital!"

"So big!"

"...You should see the Divine Phoenix Imperial City." One of the Phoenix Maids said with a proud tone.

"...I don't know big sis… having big cities like that. They are easy to burn and then Phoenix God would punish us." Feng Xian'er said with a small frown.

This just made the maid roll her eyes. Their Phoenix God is different! It was on their side! It helped them to expand and conquer huge swaths of land!

"...I don't think their Phoenix was the same. Humans most likely influenced it. They built a city above its cave and all those emotions eventually brainwashed it to help the Feng clan." Xiao Long's words made everyone baffled.

Is this for real!? They did that to their God!? 

Now the maids felt like shit.

"Don't worry. It's the most human thing to do." He smiled at the maids which made them feel even worse. 

"Regardless, we won't be moving the entire island above the city. Just parking it here will be fine. Okay, Cang Yue. We will go. Girls, you will be following me." Xiao Long commanded his battle maids who nodded at him.

He took the Princess as they started to fly down and into the city.

People of the Blue Wind Imperial City were utterly horrified when floating lands started to fly towards them. No one knew what was going on.

Everyone just started to panic. Some of the cultivators stood their ground but the moment they felt an influx of Profound energy from the island this made them terrified! If the land has this much profound energy, what kind of beings live on this floating island!?

Eventually, they noticed a group of people starting to descend from this floating island.

They instantly paled as they could sense Thrones and powerful [Sky Profounds]!

These people flew directly to the Imperial Palace!

The ones who are the most terrified about this are the Imperial Princes.

The power-hungry brats sold themselves to the outside forces. 

Cang Lin, the First Imperial Prince, was supported by Xiao Sect. When Xiao Sect mysteriously vanished one day it meant that Cang Lin's support was gone.

One would think that the opposition of Cang Lin would rise without his main support but…Cang Shuo only had the support of the Heaven Burning Clan because the Young Master wanted Cang Yue as his wife. 

With Cang Yue directly being given to Xiao Long the Heavenly Burning Clan all but withdrew their support to Cang Shuo.

In simple terms…they returned to ground zero and started their petty mini-conflicts which could deteriorate into actual civil war if the Emperor dies.

"...Princess!?"

The guards noticed the Princess in a man's hands who floated down and landed on the ground. 

"...Yes. Meet the Young Master Xiao. The Young Master of the Supreme Ocean Palace."

Her words made the guards instantly cup their hands and pay respects to the Young Master.

"We greet the Young Master!"

"Yes. My thanks for welcoming us. Princess, show me where your old man is."

"Un. Follow me."

As the group passed the guards, they could only stare at the females who were following them. Those were Frozen Cloud Fairies! But they were not dressed in blue and white. But just purely in dark blue.

This was what made their brains lag for a bit until they saw those icy spirits leave behind after passing through.

"...How amazing is it to have Frozen Cloud Fairies as your bodyguards!?"

"...Yeah…I was wondering what I have been doing with my life."

"...I can see your point."

The guards continue to mumble among themselves, the conversation theme was life choices.

As Cang Yue led the group, they eventually arrived at double doors guarded by more guards. The one leading at the front was an early Throne. 

"Princess?"

"Palace Chief Dongfang! You had a breakthrough! Congratulations!"

"Yes. It's all thanks to the pills. Now who are these esteemed guests?" The man nodded with a small smile before pointing at the people behind Cang Yue.

The princess swiftly moved to the side and elegantly pointed with her hand.

"This is Young Master of the Supreme Ocean Palace Xiao Long. He is here to inspect my Royal Father. So far we weren't able to figure out what is wrong with him. Since Medical Saints can't confirm anything, this means we can use someone knowledgeable in Arrays and Formations."

"...Princess if you think Young Master Xiao can help, then by all means, he is welcome."

Dongfang Xiu is not stupid enough to stop someone who is this young and already halfway through [Emperor Profound], especially when he is the Young Master of a Sacred Ground.

Though it puts him at ease that the Princess is vouching for him.

"Yes, Young Master, please follow me." Cang Yue walked forward and knocked on the door.

"Royal Father. It's Yue'er can I come in? I have a guest."

"Come in."

As she opened the doors, the group entered. Right behind them was Dongfang Xiu, he is after all Emperor's bodyguard.

"Royal Father, I have brought with me the Supreme Ocean Palace Young Master, let him check you. He knows the whole arsenal of arrays and runic formations. He could figure out what is wrong with you." The beautiful Princess explained smoothly, with a barely hidden excited tone. She simply knows he will find SOMETHING!

It doesn't have to be the perfect fix, just giving her father a few years or a decade is enough for her!

"...Good, Good… then we will leave ourselves in your hands, Young Master Xiao." The Emperor said with a tired tone.

"Very well. I will cast barriers and runic arrays, just relax and let the Profound energy flow through your body." Xiao Long said as he walked over and lifted his right hand.

"...We will do so."

"Good, then just relax."

The moment Young Master said that barrier walls started to appear around the Emperor's bed. More and more walls, followed by texts. 

This made the bodyguard raise his eyebrows as he understood what was going on…what baffled him was the scale of this.

How can he cast them so effortlessly?

Once this was done he projected the Emperor in a ghostly-like image.

"Princess,  your Royal father is perfectly fine—"

"But?"

"But, he has a companion in his heart."  The ghostly image focused on the heart area.

It magnified and showed a ghostly image of a worm coiled around the heart.

Everyone at that moment flinched even his Fairy Battle Maids. Both Mu Lingxue and Chu Yueli grimaced and looked away. This was simply disturbingly disgusting.

"T-This…how did this THING appear in His Majesty's body!?" the bodyguard exclaimed with some anger as he looked at the guards.

"It's not natural, that's for sure. Your Emperor must have received it via a cut of some sort in this area."

"A cut? But that's… only Megical Saint Gu would cut…" At that moment Dangfang Xiu became furious, as he connected the dots.

"That snivelling critter! He most likely thinks he can gain benefits by removing the Emperor through a parasite! No wonder no one could figure it out!" The more he talked the more it made sense.

"...Can this thing be removed?" The Emperor said with a terrified tone. He had a thing inside of him and now he felt extremely dirty.

"Possible. I have a few ideas on how to do this. Though I will need to return to my clan."

"...Will it take long?" 

"No, my clan is just outside the city walls." 

"In the meantime. You have my permission to deal with this…Medical Saint of yours. It would seem he has quite the reputation here and moving on him would be difficult." 

"Yes. Dongfang, do it…find that treacherous filth and execute him on the spot." The Emperor commanded his bodyguard. 

"Understood!"

With a burst of Profound Energy, the Throne was gone.

"Good. Princess, stay here. I will be back soon."

Once Xiao Long and his maids disappeared, Cang Wanhe started to speak to his daughter.

"...You did an incredible job Yue'er. We are proud of you." 

Cang Yue slowly nodded before pulling out a small leather bag.

"I have been busy, Royal Father. Young Master has found out that I am a talented pill maker. Ever since then, he has been training me to become a Pill Mistress."

"Incredible…never thought I would have a child talented in Profound!"

"Un…this one here is a layered Vitality pill. This pill's effect is slow and it will rejuvenate one's vitality for a prolonged amount of time." She gave the pill to her father. There was a small smile on her face. The Princess was extremely happy that they finally found out what was wrong with her Father!

"...Astounding… you made this yourself?"

"...Un…Yue'er is quite talented with alchemy."

"...I see…I see… I can even feel that you are powerful…what is your cultivation?"

"Not that high…Yue'er is ashamed to say that she is only [Fifth of Earth Profound]."

The Emperor almost choked on his saliva hearing that! 

"Royal Father!?"

"W-We are fine… it appears you are staying with powerful beings, if you don't see your cultivation as impressive in our Blue Wind Empire."

"...Umm. Maybe, but I am no longer part of the Blue Wind Empire. My cultivation is not that high compared with people in Floating Cloud Sect."

"....Floating Cloud Sect?"

"It's a Sect created when the Feng clan joined the Xiao clan. Young Master Xiao is from this clan."

"We understand…it makes sense."

After talking a little bit more the Emperor swallowed the pill and felt how energy is slowly starting to return to his body.

"...Impressive, Yue'er! This pill is very potent!" The Emperor exclaimed happily as he felt invigorated!

Cang Yue smiled upon hearing that. She was happy that her pill had worked! Though she is going to wait for Young Master. 

Once her father is healed, then she is going to feed him with pills which will make him gain cultivation!

That's right! None of those other emperors will look down on her family anymore! She has enough pills to make her father reach Monarch with enough time! Of course, time is needed but it means nothing when you have all the Profound Entrances open!

A few minutes later, Xiao Long was back. He walked right into the royal suite and went to the sitting area where he started dropping materials on the table.

At that moment the temperature rose considerably in the room as the materials released considerable heat.

"My idea is cleansing the soul type of pill. It will remove anything attached to your soul and then cleanse any excess.

"Think of it this way. We are going to burn everything that is not part of your original soul and body."

His words made the Princess and the Emperor nod.

"But isn't that worm stuck to the heart? If the worm dies won't the heart die as well?" She asked with some worry.

"That's why it's going to be a separation pill as well." He said quite seriously as he proceeded to call forth Profound water and fire. 

The materials swiftly turned into a liquid state as he started to mould the essences into a pill.

The Emperor watched closely as the Young Master started to make a pill. This was the first time in his life when he saw anything like this!

Flames in arcs would fly with liquid essences inside of them and then start laying that essence like he is making a ball of threads.

It was weirdly interesting to watch. 

Eventually, the pill was done. 

"Here it is. The soul-purifying pill is a new pill. You could say, Your Majesty, that you inspired me to make something new!"

"Hehehe. Good to hear that we can be of some use even in our current state." As the Emperor said that the glowing red pill floated over to his side.

"...oh it's still warm! Truly…an honour to see your work, Young Master Xiao."

After saying that, the Emperor simply swallowed the pill. Seconds later his body turned lobster red as waves of heat washed him up.

It was like shockwaves of energy bombarding every single inch of his body. The epicentre of this was from the stomach and spreading through his very body…reaching even his fingers and toes!

Even his nose tingled from this assault of warm energy. All this made him simply pass out.

A few minutes later Xiao Long proceeded to do another scan.

"Well?" Cang Yue asked with some worry.

"The pill should not kill him. None of those herbs have detrimental effects with them." The Young Master explained with a small frown as he focused on the heart area.

"Well, the worm has been boiled in the most literal sense. I even added vitality reorganisation to the pill as a side effect." 

"...Hmm? So that is what it was! You added runes to your pills! Wow! That's just amazing!" The Princess clapped her hands as she realised what he did! She saw him use runes in pill-making!

"Yes. I made sure that the vitality which was taken would return to your old man."

She pouted upon hearing that. 

"My Royal Father is not old!" The Princess with a huff crossed her hands.

Xiao Long simply laughed for a second. 

"Don't take in the most literal sense, Princess." The Young Master poked her cheek with amusement.

"...Still…did it work?"

"Yes. He is fine. I think I even increased his natural aptitude towards Profound."

Her eyes widened when he said that.

"Truly?"

"Yes. Several Profound entrances have opened AND his soul is clearer than ever before. Honestly… this makes me want to start getting back to pill-making." He said with a nostalgic tone.

It has been a while… he has been working too much on Arrays and Profound Formations…
