Right as the Heavenly Demon descended, he was met with the Sun Moon Divine Hall's remaining experts. There were roughly thirty monarchs, under half of its forces. However, these monarchs only ranged from the first level to the eighth. Even then, there was only one in the eighth level, two in the seventh level, three in the sixth level and five in the fifth level. A vast majority were in the lower levels… all fodder to the Heavenly Demon.
Seeing them raise their weapons against him, Rokas raised the Sun Moon Calamity in turn.
'Blazing Water Arts… Seafaring Blaze Dragon!'
Waving his fan, Rokas fused his Phoenix Flames with the Blue Dragon's water, forming his blazing water in the form of a flood dragon and raining it down upon his opposition.
SPLASHHH.
The blazing water overwhelmed the attacks of the monarchs and exploded in splendid fashion, wounding tens of monarchs at once and burning the rest to ash. Not only did the profound energy explode in terrifying fashion, but it also left burns that did not subside for quite some time.
Rokas observed the disciples whom he had killed with a conflicted expression… there weren't just dozens. There were hundreds. Hundreds who were likely innocent and just so happened to be in the way. They each had their own families to return to… and now they'd be lost forever.
Since when… did he become a butcher?
He hesitated for a moment.
"You fiendish demon… you'll pay for what you've done to our Sun Moon Divine Hall with your life!!!" The second elder of the Sun Moon Divine Hall roared, expending his blood essence as he charged forth with a flaming spear.
He was as fast as lightning, cutting straight through the conflicted Rokas' cheek. He continued attempting to pierce through him, although Rokas snapped out of it and waved his fan in retaliation.
CLANG.
"What do you seek to gain… from slaughtering our innocent disciples?" The second elder added, realising that the Heavenly Demon wasn't as heartless as he seemed. So he grasped onto the moment of weakness… and cut straight into his chest.
'Why… is my resolve so lacking? Why do I care so much for these strangers? Why…'
One side of him wished to be ruthless, the other clung to the shy pacifist that he used to be. The conflict between who he had been turning into… and who he once was.
Withdrawing his spear, the second elder stepped back and joined hands with the remaining monarchs, creating a formation. All of the remaining elders imbued their power into the second elder, granting him strength that was much beyond the eighth level of the Sovereign Profound Realm.
"Sun-Moon Cage!!!"
The second elder used the Sun Moon Divine Hall's strongest sealing technique, wrapping it around Rokas. It suppressed his strength greatly. Even forcing him to kneel.
"Now… you'll die at last…!!!"
The second elder roared, charging directly towards him with spear in hand.
Jasmine frowned, preparing to release her profound energy to save him. "Snap out of it, you fool! Or I'll have to.."
For the last few moments, before the spear was driven into him, he thought about everything that he had achieved. The people that he had come to love… Cang Yue, Xia Qingyue and Jasmine. He saw that so much of his life was incomplete… and came to a ruthless realisation that would change him forever;
No one in front of him mattered.
"Shut… up…" Rokas muttered, going completely berserk as his power amplified by five times. He instantly turned into his true form, shattering the cage completely. "My life… is infinitely more important than yours!!!"
"ROAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR!!!"
"... This overwhelming strength…" The elder stuck his spear into the terrifying beast's feet, barely penetrating its scales and causing some of its blood to flow out. He swiftly flew back, in complete shock. "Such a dragon…"
Rokas expanded his wings, a pair of azure dragon wings, a pair of scarlet feathered phoenix wings and another pair of blue dragon wings. He was absolutely colossal, towering over the Sun Moon Divine Hall even as he stood on the ground.
He turned his gaze to the monarchs boosting the second elder's strength, took a deep breath and unleashed nine waves of blazing water. The second elder dashed in front to protect the rest… however, he could only guard against so much of the blazing tidal waves. The water went around him, thoroughly scalding the monarchs until they were either dead or out of commission.
After thirty seconds of straight blazing water, the Sun Moon Divine Hall's core was completely soaked with ashes. The second elder kneeled on the ground in disarray… having taken the harshest burns of all.
Rokas picked him up with his hand and crushed the life out of him… placing the elder in one of his mouths and consuming his profound strength. Then he spat him out and crushed whatever remained with his foot.
BANG.

Returning to his human form, Rokas Clothes Beamed himself and got back his Heavenly Demon drip. He observed the devastation that he had caused with a slightly conflicted expression. However, this feeling was not nearly as strong as before.

What remained of the Sun Moon Divine Hall were tens of thousands of disciples… however, none were even a threat to him. He passed them by without batting an eye, heading straight to the first treasury. Swiftly, he swiped everything clean and went to the other treasuries.
All of their weapons, pills, money, crystals… he took everything.
He took a while longer than he had expected to, realising just how poor the Heaven Burning Clan truly was compared to the Sun Moon Divine Hall. He took half an hour to do so, preparing to leave right after. However, both the System and Jasmine alerted him to something he hadn't expected.
"... Three level ten monarchs, one level nine monarch and fifty more monarchs are rapidly approaching the Sun Moon Divine Hall!"
'... Just my luck…' Rokas thought to himself. 'Can I fight a Sacred Ground master and two other level ten monarchs?'
'Nah… fuck that.'
He took a moment to quickly think of a plan…
'This should work…'
He used Star God's Broken Shadow, leading to a perfect 'clone' of the Heavenly Demon leaving the treasury.
Meanwhile, the real Rokas shape-shifted into an ordinary-looking black-haired disciple with a wounded face, Clothes Beaming himself to have messed up Sun Moon Divine Hall disciple robes. This would indicate that the 'Heavenly Demon' had 'roughened' him up.
"You devious man…" Jasmine remarked. "Using the Star God's Broken Shadow like that is quite clever."
[System: This kind of tactical plotting would make even Qianye Ying'er wet.]
'I'm not so sure about that one.'
He left the treasury with a terrified expression, taking several deep breaths as the monarchs arrived.
"The Heavenly Demon…" Rokas muttered. "He took everything… and said that he'd return once more, to finish the job that he had started!"
All of the disciples gasped and Ye Meixie frowned deeply with fury.
"Where… did he go!?"
The Heavenly Monarch roared, leading to Rokas and many other disciples pointing towards the direction where the Star God's Broken Shadow had flown. After that, Ye Meixie and his entire entourage followed suit. Meanwhile, Rokas acted like he had gone through the most traumatising event of his life as he slipped away into the crowd of disciples.
Once some time had passed, he vanished in a flash before anyone realised he was even gone.
'Hmph, the Ancestral Goddess and Mirror of Samsara can suck it.'
Rokas grinned slightly as he flew away.
[System: Who's to say she wouldn't want to? Maybe you should go see Lingxi and…]
'... Are you serious? The Ancestral Goddess has been my biggest opp since pretty much day one.'

With the Sun Moon Divine Hall losing its young master, thirty of its monarchs, one Sun Moon Divine Hall Envoy and its entire treasury, it suddenly became the least impressive of the Four Great Sacred Grounds. A bleak future awaited it…
And so, the Heavenly Monarch made yet another drastic act, turning his wrath on the nations of the Profound Sky Continent. Other than the measly Blue Wind Empire, of course… since it wasn't even worth looking at.
The Sun Moon Divine Hall looted the treasuries of the nations, starting with the Navy Tide Nation. Its experts scattered across the continent, causing unprecedented chaos. The lesser five nations had been easily overwhelmed. However, as the Sun Moon Divine Hall reunited at the Divine Phoenix City to do the same to the Divine Phoenix Sect, they were stopped by the Absolute Monarch Sanctuary. After the Saint Emperor, the Sword Master and Sovereign of the Seas also stood behind the Divine Phoenix Sect, overwhelming the Heavenly Monarch with their righteous gazes.

"This act of tyranny upon the very continent that we are duty-bound to be guardians over… is absolutely unacceptable!" The Saint Emperor, Huangji Wuyu, roared with such might that the entire Divine Phoenix City seemed to shake under it.
"Tsk… it truly is unacceptable." Xuanyuan Wentian added, narrowing his eyes. "Perhaps the Sun Moon Divine Hall has forgotten its purpose? If so, it truly is unfortunate. I had thought that the demons were on another continent… to think that they would exist on our very own soil, preying on our innocent and powerless nations. Such a heartless act… is grounds for extermination, is it not?"
"We know what happened the last time that you claimed innocents were being harmed by another Sacred Ground…" Qu Fengyi, the Sovereign of the Seas, frowned.
"Am I wrong this time? Not only did they strip the nations of their cultivation resources, but they also took their profound arts, kidnapped countless women to perform their dual-cultivation heretical arts and slaughtered many more. This is not a recent thing, either, the Sun Moon Divine Hall has always been this tyrannical… except now it is to a far greater and visible degree." Xuanyuan Wentian stood steadfast on his moral high ground, looking down on Ye Meixie as he brought out all of the dirt he had on him.
"Heavenly Monarch, what can you even say to justify the Sun Moon Divine Hall's actions over these years?"
"I… admit, my Sun Moon Divine Hall has committed morally questionable actions. However, I, as the Heavenly Monarch, have never approved of them. All members found to be breaking our sacred code would be punished accordingly…"
"Even your own son?" Xuanyuan Wentian's eyes flashed. "I've heard valid reports of the Young Hall Master kidnapping dozens of women for his own amusement and as dual-cultivation incubators. Such disgusting acts… just because he is your son, you'd let it slide?"
".... If you'd ask any of his women, they'd tell you how much they love their new lives." Ye Meixie replied, shaking his head. "Ye Xinghan is a charitable and kind child, giving fortune to those who would not have it otherwise."
"Do you hear yourself talk?" The Sovereign of the Seas, being a woman, frowned deeply. "You do not even deny it… instead, you glorify such actions! Truly, the Sword Master might be right this time. Perhaps the Sun Moon Divine Hall has been the rodent amongst us all along"
Xuanyuan Wentian made a slight smile. "They 'love' their new lives? Is it their mind speaking or the heretical dual-cultivation art that your son loves to use?"
"He uses such a thing?" Qu Fengyi's frown only grew deeper.
"I…" Ye Meixie suddenly realised his mistake. Ever since his son had died and Sacred Ground had been looted, he wasn't in the right mind. "The Heavenly Demon… he's the reason why the Sun Moon Divine Hall had to act so desperately!"
"The Heavenly Demon?" The Saint Emperor raised an eyebrow. "I've never heard of such a figure. Are you pulling nonsense out of your tongue? You won't get away so easily, Heavenly Monarch… not after all that you've done to stain our collective reputation as the Great Sacred Grounds."
"He killed my son… he killed Divine Envoy Star Banisher… he killed thirty monarchs and hundreds of disciples… he… he took all of my Sun Moon Divine Hall's treasures." Ye Meixie gave in, admitting to everything with maddened eyes. "I want… vengeance… please… if my Sun Moon Divine Hall falls, he'll only turn to the rest of your Sacred Grounds. If we are divided… we'll never defeat him!"
"The Heavenly Demon… does the Illusory Demon Realm have an ancestor that we are not aware of?" Xuanyuan Wentian questioned, stroking his beard.
"Ye Meixie is not lying, that much seems true." Qu Fengyi remarked. "Still, the Sun Moon Divine Hall's actions cannot be so easily brushed aside."
"... Hmm." The Saint Emperor contemplated the whole matter with a conflicted expression. "Ye Miexie, you must return all that you stole and pay tribute to the rest of the Sacred Grounds as punishment. Otherwise… I won't be quite so fair."
"... Return everything? Why do those lowly nations matter… we should be focusing on exterminating the Heavenly Demon!" Ye Meixie roared.
"... The Heavenly Monarch has clearly lost his mind." Xuanyuan Wentian remarked, shaking his head. "Sovereign of the Seas, Saint Emperor, how could we cooperate with such an unreasonable beast?"
"... It seems that we cannot." Qu Fengyi agreed, nodding.
The Saint Emperor took a deep breath. "Heavenly Monarch, I will not ask twice."
"... I am not giving what I rightfully took!" Ye Meixie remained defiant. "As I said… the Heavenly Demon… must be slain. Afterwards, you can take the treasures that he stole… that would be enough, right?"
The trio were not convinced.
"With all of the evidence present, Saint Emperor, why must you hesitate so much? All that we must do is slay the Heavenly Monarch for his sins and bring the rest of their experts into our respective Sacred Grounds." Xuanyuan Wentian suggested. "It would not be that much of a loss, especially with the questionable virtues of the Sun Moon Divine Hall. The Profound Sky Continent would be better and more united without its existence."
"The Heavenly Monarch has gone mad and is no longer worthy of being a sacred ground master." Qu Fengyi nodded. "The Sun Moon Divine Hall's disgusting practises should die with him!"
"True enough… the Profound Sky Continent has suffered devastating losses because of the Sun Moon Divine Hall's greed and tyranny. That much cannot be forgiven…" The Saint Emperor sighed. "Ye Miexie, you've had too many chances to repent."
"No… you can't… I will not fall… until the Heavenly Demon dies the most terrible death imaginable!!!" Ye Meixie roared, drawing out a flaming sword.
With the joint power of the Absolute Monarch Sanctuary, Mighty Heavenly Sword Region and Supreme Ocean Palace, the Sun Moon Divine Hall was absorbed by the other three Great Sacred Grounds. The Heavenly Monarch was slain by the united power of the other three sacred ground masters, their strongest experts swiftly dealing with the four Sun Moon Divine Envoys. As for the rest, a majority surrendered instantly.
Then… the remaining three Great Sacred Grounds held a conference to sort out the issue of this 'Heavenly Demon', eventually enticing the entire Profound Sky Continent to search for this person with the promise of fortune.

Meanwhile, Rokas returned to the Blue Wind Imperial Palace right after looting the Sun Moon Divine Hall. He relaxed, spending the following six months by Cang Yue's side as his child came into the world. Alas… it was a daughter, as beautiful as the stars, whom he named Long Yinping after Guan Yinping. Rokas had personally hoped for a son… but he was pleased nonetheless.
She had Cang Yue's pretty azure eyes and Rokas' brown hair paired with the sweetest smile in the world. However, she could be just as grumpy when she didn't get her way. Well, it was natural for babies to be this way… she reminded him of his baby sister in his first life.

'Man, these ATG books are so… lacking. Does no one care about writing? Even the lullabies are terrible,' Rokas thought to himself as he sat beside Long Yinping's cradle. He glanced at her, realising that the little girl was still looking at him.
'Can't say putting babies to sleep is my expertise…'

'... Those old men are strong as all hell. You're making it sound like I'm a youngster abusing helpless elders…'

Rokas gently took her out of her cradle and let her sit on his lap. The girl seemed quite elated and equally restless, trying to climb his chest.. Seeing this, Rokas decided to pull out a lullaby he had heard when he was much younger. Perhaps that would put her to sleep…
"Ahem…" Rokas frowned slightly, trying to find his singing voice. "Twinkle, twinkle, little star. How I wonder what you are. Up above the world so high, like a diamond in the sky. When the blazing sun is gone, when he nothing shines upon, then you show your little light, twinkle, twinkle, all the night. Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are…"
"... As your bright and tiny spark, lights the traveller in the dark,— though I know what you are, twinkle, twinkle little star. Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are."
Rokas observed that his little girl had become less restless, seemingly vibing to his lullaby. However, she was not quite as asleep yet.
"London bridge is falling down, falling down…"
He proceeded with another English lullaby… holding her little hands in his own.
And then another lullaby…
"Row, row, row your boat. Gently down the stream. Merrily merrily, merilly, merrily, life is but a dream…"
"... If you see a crocodile, don't forget to scream…"
"... If you see your mummy there, give her a big cuddle."
By the time he was finished with the third, she was asleep in his arms and chest. Despite all the time and effort it took to take care of her, he couldn't bring himself to dislike it. She was… worth it all and more. His very own daughter, the most precious little jade in the world.
He gave her a kiss on the cheek and gently placed her back into her cradle.
"And I thought you said you weren't mature enough… yet you're a better father than most already." Cang Yue observed with a smile, having silently watched the last quarter of his performance. "I learned something new as well. You have a sweet singing voice."
"... I do?" Rokas scratched his hair. In truth, he had felt awkward half the time.
"How else did our restless Yinping fall asleep?"
'I suppose it would be a nice skill to have…'
After Cang Yue left, Rokas remained for a little while longer.
'Father will have to attend the Seven Nation Ranking Tournament later… and then return 'home' for a little while. Other than that, I won't leave your side…'
'I won't be absent from your life like my father was...'
He promised, turning away after he was certain that she was asleep.
"London bridge is falling down, falling down…" Jasmine sang, seemingly mocking him. "London bridge… can't say I've ever heard of such a bridge. Does it mean anything to you?"
"It used to." Rokas replied, shrugging his shoulders.

During this time of peace and vacation, Rokas didn't commit to any hardcore training other than learning formations. Instead, he took care of his daughter and spent quality time with his wife. Eventually, Cang Yue came to ask the question that had been lingering on her mind.
"Do you… love Xia Qingyue?"
It caught him off-guard, of course… but he had learned to be honest with his feelings. Besides, he knew that Cang Yue wouldn't bash him for liking someone else. She wasn't the type to be jealous like that.
"Yes… I do." Rokas nodded, sharing eye contact with his wife. "But… that doesn't mean that I love you any less…"
He couldn't quite put it into words but he did truly love her. Not only was she mesmerisingly beautiful, charming, determined and interesting but she also always stood by his side. Especially during the whole matter with the Frozen Cloud Immortal Palace… she proved that she was loyal to him, above even her own sect. She also… knew him more than anyone else did.
To have someone like that beside you… it was more valuable than all of the riches in the world.
"I know…" Cang Yue smiled, cupping his hand. "Before I met you, the Blue Wind Imperial Family was so close to breaking apart… and you changed it all around. Helping me grow strong beyond my wildest dreams, exposing my treacherous brothers and those that supported him, giving this overwhelming feeling of love in my heart alongside this wonderful daughter of ours. I… don't want you to have any regrets in your life because of me."
"So… if you love Xia Qingyue… I won't deter you." Cang Yue spoke with an understanding tone, leading to Rokas smiling.
"You'll always be my first…" Rokas passionately pressed his lips against hers. "That will never change."

One night, Rokas asked Xia Qingyue if she wanted to hang out. It had been ages since they'd have properly spoken. While Rokas had focused on family matters, Xia Qingyue was equally focused on her cultivation. Neither wanted to disturb the other… but, alas, Rokas made time on this occasion, having been given the greenlight by Cang Yue.
Rokas spent some effort setting the scene, taking her out to his courtyard. The glistening moon seemed to be looming over them as they looked at each other. This time… there wouldn't be any interference.
"These months have given me much time to think about what I want." Xia Qingyue spoke, glancing at the moon. "We've spent every day over the last year together… some days more intimate than others. You fought a Sacred Ground on my behalf and triumphed, saving my sect from calamity. All this time, you gave me your own profound energy just so that I could progress faster. And… you are the only person who can invoke such a tremble in my heart. With every day that passed, this feeling only grew, without even the need for any words."
"... Once… I was so confused. Was it my distant ambition that made me want to be close to you? Or was it that trembling yearning in my heart? Since then, I've finally found the answer," Xia Qingyue turned back to him, stepping forward.
"I've decided… that I want you…"
Xia Qingyue floated up slightly, so that she could reach his lips for the kiss that had evaded her over six months ago.
Rokas blinked in slight disbelief… had he truly conquered Xia Qingyue? She seemed so untouchable at first, like a distant fairy. And here she was, coming directly for him…
"I've seen you be so very bold with Cang Yue…" Xia Qingyue withdrew, turning away with a slight blush and the first he had ever witnessed. "Can't you treat me the same, Long Ke?"
"... Be careful what you ask for." Rokas smiled, getting over his hesitation as he reciprocated her kiss with one of his own.
And so, the scene swiftly changed to his bedchamber where Xia Qingyue's purple dress didn't last very long. They spent the entire night together, accidentally breaking in the bed towards the end… it couldn't quite handle a dragon going ham, unfortunately.

When Xia Qingyue was determined to do something, she would do it and nothing could change her mind. She and Qianye Ying'er were somewhat similar in their tenacity… perhaps that is why he found them both so attractive as a reader, writer and now lover. At least, in Xia Qingyue's case…

In the following six months leading up to the Seven Nation Ranking Tournament, Xia Qingyue made Cang Yue seem rather reserved and timid in her lovemaking. The number of times he 'released' per day was absolutely absurd, usually counting upwards of ten. Still, he comprehended the third stage of the Great Way of the Buddha, learned the fourth stage of the Star God's Broken Shadow and further improved on his Ice Flame.
As for his own profound strength, he rose to the third stage of the Tyrant Profound Realm. Turns out that Shared Growth was quite useful for him as well.
