Chapter 24: Breaking the Spell

Griffin's POV

Last night was the most incredible experience of my life, I thought when I awoke to the sun streaming through my window and the most beautiful woman who ever lived, naked in my bed. I always thought that it was better in life to be lucky than good, and by the Goddess was I lucky.

I just laid back for a moment and watched her sleeping. Her silvery hair fanned out on the pillow beside me. She looked like a goddess. Or a fairy. Some mystical creature too perfect, too impossible, to be real. I kissed her forehead softly, and tried not to wake her. We had worn each other out in the most delightful of ways, I thought, she had earned her rest. Unfortunately, my Beta, James, hadn't gotten the memo. I groaned when I heard his polite knock at my door, and actually considered pretending I was still sleeping. It was nothing against James. I just didn't want to spoil the magic Dominique and I had shared together. To let him, or anyone else in, would be to break the spell.
