Abyss , where Domains lay

" Glad to see you doing fine here Ruth" said the man.
Huh? Who is he and how does he know my name and he talks as if we know each other but I do not remember ever meeting someone like him.
"Fret not Ruth , its okay not being able to remember about our previous meeting, anyways ask me what you want and I will try to answer within the best of my abilities" he said .
"But where am I , where is this place , why am I still alive , why are all the goblins calling me their master" I enquired.
"Hmmm… you just asked a lot of thing in that one line and the questions are not even linear they are really messed up in order haha, to explain it all I would have to start from the beginning.
"You ruth were about to die in that plane crash but I needed someone here so I kindna.. Ahem I saved from from your death and brought you here , what is this place where we are you ask, we are in 'abyss' the universe the 'great master' created , within abyss exist 'cosmic corridors' , think of them like galaxies from your universe , these corridors contain within them the dimension portals , one portals lead to one particular dimension and so on, these dimensions are mostly known as cosmic domains ( or just domains) and the place we are here is one such domain.
"You are chosen as the ruler of this domain and are to lead this domain to prosperity and power and these goblins subconsciously felt you as the true rules and hence called you master" He finished his monologue.
"I was chosen ? What does that mean do I have like super powers or am I some hero to save civilization ?" I asked him.
"To be honest i just needed someone and you were gonna die there so I just got you here there is really nothing special in you . And now that we are talking about powers and saving civilizations I guess I should not delay it any longer.
"You aren't the chosen one neither are you the only lucky guy in abyss , daily 'watchers' like me bring thousands if not millions of people in abyss and give them their domain , what do we get out doing that you may ask , fun and entertainment , the 'great master' was bored so he used his powers to create abyss to have entertainment and that's what you are here for , you remember how I told you about cosmic corridors ?"
I nodded
"There are 4 ranks of cosmic corridors , ultra -> high -> mid -> low , there are thousands of such corridors and each rank corridors contains similar ranked domains. For reference your domain is a low ranked domain and hence you are in a low ranked corridor if you were to increase your domain's rank your domain will be moved to that level of corridor and so forth." He finished.
"Huh .. So from what I can understand I am in a low ranked domain and the domain exists in a low ranked corridor and if I ranked the domain to mid rank the domain would be moved from a low ranked to a mid ranked corridor . Is that right ?" I pondered
He simply nodded
"So what am I supposed to do in this domain and what are these ranks and how do I rank up and I am just a normal human how can we be just talking about dimensions like they are nothing special and above all who are you and who is that the great master ?"I asked him
" Hahaha , smart guy huh , dimensions are not really that special in abyss where millions and billions of them exist , as for what ranks are and what you have to do let me explain in detail.
"I am a 'watcher' we are beings that are tasked to bring players to domains and teach them the basics and help them get started in domains". He said in a soft voice.
"As for the great master , you aren't significant enough to even say his name you mere mortal" he said in a angry voice , his angry gaze fixed on me and releasing some power which made it hard for me to breath or think or even keep standing , my whole body shivered under his power while my eyes were not even being able to look at his figure. My gaze falls to the nearby goblins and I see that all of them are struggling the same way I am.
And in an instant he suppressed his aura back , that instant felt like forever my body breathing hard on the verge of collapsing unconscious.
While everyone was still on ground , the 'watcher' speaks "well my bad , got out of control there and some of my aura slipped out even after controlling". He said while the words seem apologetic , the tone wasn't , it was as if he was mocking me and those goblins for not knowing their place and not even being able to withstand a mere slip of some aura.
After a few minutes of hard breathing and trying to get up I got up on my feet and saw the goblin were already back to their kneeling position. After seeing me get up he continued
"As for what to do , all domains have a crystal core and these crystal cores have levels and each level will provide you with some buffs and features . To level up crystal core you have to sacrifice mana crystals. On that a bit later,
"Just as you . there are millions of other domains and each domain have some diff climate and habitat while not completely unique to one domain its not common to find two domains with same habitat….."
"So does that mean all players do not get to start with goblins ?" Just as he was going to continue I interrupted.
"So you do have some brain up these , we do not call them players we call the domain leaders as crystal keepers or keepers , and yea not all domains have goblins as their first troop.
"The domains have unlimited space but you have to unlock it by leveling up your crystal core , each level will increase the surface area and make the domain bigger.
"Each domain have 2 portals , one leading to the cosmic corridor you are in , well you cant currently access it because you need really higher rank for that and other is a dungeon door.
"Each domain has its own dungeon which has been influenced by the domain's habitat and so are the monster's as they depend on the habitat of domain. The dungeons are divided in floors from 1-2-3-…. So on the lower the floor you go the bigger the area of the floor will be with more and stronger monsters , these monsters will drop resources and most importantly mana crystals. The mana crystals quality and effectiveness depends on the floor and monster they have been dropped from.
"Every 10 levels there will be a boss , we call protector and they are really strong and those floors do not have any other monsters other than the protector.
"The resources in the dungeon are renewable that is , if you were to chop a tree in dungeon after some time it will grow back and can be cut again.
"Dungeons are the main source of resources for any domain , but its not all that good just like resources the monsters get spawned again but this time they will be in a room, monsters rehab we call it hehe , you need to periodically kill the monsters in rehab or they will break out and destroy all the things made.
"But fret not even if you forget and mess up, the monsters can not leave the floor they are spawned on and can never leave the dungeon gate EVER.
"You can build in dungeons all you want and in fact since most of your resources are to come from there most of your farms will be built there.
"The mana crystals dropped from monsters are only used to level crystal core at the beginning. The the back of the domain is the 'crystal core' the main source of energy for your domain to exist in abyss , the core does not actively lost charge but if broken then the whole domain will collapse and cease to exist and then it is at the back to be protected and near the core is the altar and keepers throne. The altar is where you sacrifice mana crystals to upgrade crystal core" he finished explaining.
"You said something about protecting the crystal core ? From who , there are no monsters in domain , the ones that are are all my servants and the monsters from dungeons cant leave the dungeon then who are we protecting it from ? "I enquired.
"Hahaha , great you really are listening to what I say huh . There is one thing I didn't tell you , the most important factor of domains , the most important form of entertainment or you could say the primary reason domains exist. Its domination matches. Hahaha" he started laughing after saying that.
A shiver went down my spine after I heard the name 'domination match' what even is that but the name suggests its nothing good.
"Domination matches happen every 3 months for low rank domains, hence you have 90 days left for your match. The info about the opponent will be revealed one month before the match that is about 2 months from now and the info only consists of basic stuff like the core level and habitat nothing about the army and the weapons.
"Ahem.. So the main reason of defense and army is not really dungeons but domination match , its simple really , we just make two domains fight an all out war whoever kills the leader or destroys the other domain's core wins and the losing domain with all its resources and might will merge with the winning domain to get stronger and the dimension portal of losing domain will come inside your dungeon , That is , you will have full access to that domain and to enter that domain they would have to first enter yours and then get into it.
"The reason domains don't just merge like cores is first habitat issue the whole ecosystem with be destroyed and second you can just destroy a domain if you don't have use for it later."
O my fucking god , so much info dump I feel like my brains gonna explode with all this info I got and the worst part he isn't even done he is still going
"And like I said the domain will be yours means you can access all their resources , their troops , their farms and even their dungeon everything is yours and the troops will automatically become your slaves as they will start to follow each and every of your command.
"Ohh btw I forgot one more important thing didn't I" he wondered as he held his chin with is hand.
"Huh there is still stuff left to tell me ?" I can't help but be completely overwhelmed with all this information.
"Hmmmmm...…. Ohh yea I forgot you tell you about your system, try saying 'status'."
