Subsequent Fall Part 53.6: Moon Negy

Everything that Sal was seeing was falling into his plans that he laid out carefully, all of the forces on his moon had been well positioned from the start, the week of brutal fighting had done very little to thin his ranks as the three new factions arrived. He paid no attention, like Adam he was also distracted by the forces of the one that sat back and did nothing.

Invisible men surrounded Sal as they silently drew their blades. Sal looked out to te stars where Titan was. "I have no hope of beating him in a fight, but beating his forces is what I am prepared for." The first blade swung downward as Sal angled his armor to have it slide right off, immediately countering with a punch to the throat. Breaking his neck and windpipe in one blow the assassin fell to the ground as the others paused.

"Poof." Sal stomped his foot as a white powder flew out, covering all the assassins as Sal dropped a match while sprinting out of the room. Lighting them and the room ablaze he grabbed his rifle from the wall to join the frontlines. "Alright, what are we dealing with out here with these new punks?"

"Well, we aren't totally outmatched!" Gunfire was heard on the other side of the comms as one of the officers communicated to Sal. "Their armor is resistant to all the elements we have used on it and ballistics are having a hard time chewing through."

"Got it, aim for weak points inside of their armor, I assume there is more to it that are supporting their tanky men?" Sal started sprinting to catch up and get to the frontline to help with the counters.

"Yes, reports are invisible members running around and slashing us with swords. Our armor is strong enough and takes the bladestrokes." The officer communicated as one tried to slit his throat. Being grabbed and pushed to the ground the officer finished the weasel off.

"Look for glittering like looking at glass on a sunny day. Their tech is similar to the invisibility Astral uses." Sal finally made it to the frontline as chaos was still prevalent and the violence only upscaling with time.

"Their all rounders have no specialty, it's just their numbers that make us one hundred thousand to one." The officer filled Sal in as he nodded.

"Thank you Simon." Sal nodded as he looked across the battlefield, meteors flew in from above as he saw the third moon be destroyed. "PETE!" Sal yelled out across all channels as he did not want to lose any more men.

"I'm dinged up, but I'm here Sal, my remaining forces are heading to the planet, I got a gift of a talent heading your way through. Mech pilot held a frontline for as much time as we could." Pete spoke as their shuttle landed on the backline of the forces as they ate and rearmed themselves to get to the frontline.

"Copy that Pete, good to hear your voice." Sal looked as a shuttle dropped in behind him. The mech stood up as it looked similar to the Zeta mech. "Pilot, we won't lose this moon, I promise." The mech gave a thumbs up as Sal had a plan.

"Everyone listen up, their front row of soldiers are almost inpentrateable. Leave that to snipers aiming to cripple them, me with our new sample rounds and the mech." Sal looked across the field. Nothing was surprising him. "Once one of them drops open fire into the opening." Sal loaded up his rifle with the lightspeed rounds as he got ready. Taking a deep breath in as he fired the first round.

It cleared the entire path in front of him as he watched the men around it stop in their tracks, the entire army's advance halted as hundreds of men were killed in one shot. Sal looked at the rifle as he realized the rounds were more than effective. Sal refocused himself as he had nine more rounds left in the magazine. Opening fire he was able to erase the deficit of manpower in half. The rest of his forces kept the pressure on, the one lone mech seizing the opportunity and firing several heat seeking rockets from its shoulders, taking down most of the invading frontline.

"This is weird, they are just throwing themselves at us, and we are not falling as fast as you thought." Simon spoke to Sal as he was taking too long to think. Simon went back to firing among the crowd of invading men.

"Wait, they are finally in motion, we need to move, issue the evacuation of this moon, we need to set a trap and take down as many of them as possible." Sal shouted out as Simon turned around.

"What do you mean they are finally in motion?" Simon looked around as the moon station had a small level explosion from their weapons system.

"The one man who could slow down Astral finally told his fleets to enter our space rather than sitting back." Sal pointed to a spot of dead space as the ships were moving inward. "Which means we need much more than our current output. If we head to the planet and take down what they have to offer here in a trap, we may be able to do it." Sl was crunching the numbers as Simon shook his head.

"If we give up this moon and Jax gives up his. That planet is the only thing saving us from destruction." Simon yelled to Sal as the mech crouched down next to them.

The pod opened up as the man looked at the two. "I think we all know if our forces are on one planet. They will know as well, that the station needs to go down first, however, we would be stronger with more numbers."

"My thinking is we push them back and take out a chunk more than what we could do normally, trap them here and go to the planet and help Zane!" Sal looked to the planet as the fighting grew. Sal wanted to be there to help his general as the fleet slowly closed in. "Now or never."

"Sal, direct order based off of the conversation, the capital ship is coming for your moon. Self destruct in a delayed fashion." Astrid communicated while she struggled to hold Titan's fleet back with her fleet.

"Execute evacuation order theta, bulk forces first then the key hold points till we are the last ones." Sal issued the command as his forces slowly started pulling away. The capital ship for Titan was closing in, Sal was running out of time as he had set the trap for the madman. Sal's shuttle lifted off with the last of his forces and the lone mech as a escort ship landed from the capital ship of Titan's.

"Sir, it seems like there is very little enemy presence here." One of the officers chirped up at Titan as he heard a snarl from the man. The officers went quiet as they watched the crew walk around the moon, the facility they entered had an ominous feeling left from Sal as even Titan didn't sense the issue.

"It seems like they chose to run rather than fight us. Smart choice by them, they had no chance of holding out forever." Titan spoke freely as they made it to the center room, a video was playing on the screen.

"Hello Titan, we are very aware of your presence, and your reputation precedes you, the man you want to break is not of this plane of existence I fear, so wait your time and die while it happens." Sal's prerecorded message played on loop for the last time as the moon imploded before sending the shrapnel of the blast directly at Titan's fleets as they incurred heavy damage, most small ships being immobilized by the blast as the larger ones had hull damage. Titan was impressed by their ability to adapt and deceive.

"Humans will never change, their deceit runs deep. If Astral really is not here, then his presence is spread well across the battlefield." Titan looked over to the planet and the space station. "I will be on my way."

Admiral Taz stood there confused. "But their high level shielding is still surrounding the station."

"I don't intend to head to the station right away, the pesky robot won't allow our fleets to get close." Titan pointed to the last moon remaining. "My target is there, once I am on the moon, I can slip by and bypass the shield. Astral learned very quickly." Titan walked out of the bridge as he went to the surface of the moon.
