Advent of Astral Part 37: Adam

"We gotta wait nine months before this kid is spit out? Really?" Jaimie would whine with a different tone about her.

"Jokes on you princess, we still got another eighteen years if not more before we could actually take him under our wing." Astral would giggle a bit as she sighed at him.

"Even longer? I will go work in the city and help little kids with parental problems." Jaimie would smile and tilt her head.

"While you do that, I will teach at his high school in the future. Win win for both of us. Try to book a meeting with him once a month and help his health out." They both knew what the deal was.

"It seems like you want to indoctrinate this kid to join you?" Anders would ask with a look of scorn across her face.

"I will give him the option to not join. But nothing like a little coercion to aid me?" Astral would look over to the angry lady.

"Astral, that's cruel, evil and unjust." Anders stated.

"It's better than leaving him to fend off for himself." Astral offered a rebuttal.

"How about both? Astral, show this kid his passions and have him follow his dreams, do not limit him but don't force him down any path. Encourage him to do what he wants and be a guide in life. No reason to go too far." Jaimie added on.

"If we wanted to brainwash the kid we stand no better than the thing that tried to corrupt you Astral. Let the kid be a kid still." She implored Astral who would nod in agreement.

"Thank you, what do we do to pass the time?" Jaimie would ask as Astral tilted his head to her.

"I have more than one idea, but I want to finish Astrid, she is right there to being finished." She would wave to Jaimie as Astral worked on her coding making it impossible for him to break through.

"What are your ideas?" Jaimie asked with a suggestive tone in her voice.

"It won't be too hard to be a doctor for the birth of the next Astral, outside of the continuation of what we normally do." He would snuggle up to her. Anders giving the two a cold glare.

"Come over here Anders, you earned it." Astral would wave her over as she charged at the two and sent them over the chair, the three of them laughing on the ground.

The months passed as Astral and Jaimie both would play doctor at the hospital, specializing in deliveries. Every single one of their deliveries went smoothly and it was reported that each one of them went to live great lives as leaders, athletes, and scientists.

There was only one complication in their entire career. The smallest lady possible standing no taller than four feet tall would approach the two on one of their off days. Asking for their help in delivering the baby, every other hospital said it would cause her death if they delivered it.

Astral would get a tingling feeling as Jaimie would ask. "Well, when did you conceive the child?" The two would be looked apon with pleading puppy eyes.

"About nine months ago on a night I don't want to remember." she would have tears well up in her eyes as Jaimie would hoist her up in a hug.

"We will be happy to help you with this, but why find us?" Astral would inquire as the little lady looked over.

"I've heard stories from my parents who work with you on how magical you make childbirth, I thought going to you would be a great idea." The lady would look over as Astral nodded.

"Well, let's bring you in for a checkup, after that we will think of what to do. And go from there." Astral motioned for Jaimie and the little lady to follow them to the vehicle outside. Jaimie would carry her outside and set her in her seat.

Once they got to the hospital, Astral would take base height and weight measurements. Jaimie would ease her through everything. Being just shy of one hundred pounds and exactly four feet tall, she couldn't have been no more than fourteen.

"So, we have two options, perform a c-section surgery, in which you will be more at risk of damage to yourself. Or we induce a live birth right now, either way, the risk for you dying is higher than normal due to your stature." Astral would carefully explain this to keep her at ease.

"You have a very large baby inside of you outside of that as well. It is fine but makes our job of delivery to be much more careful." Astral would trail on as Jaimie would comfort her.

Her voice quivered with uneasiness. "What would be the most likely way to save just the baby and not me?" This question would shock the two of them.

"Live birth, with the c-section of this size, you have about a five percent chance of survival, live birth gives you a coin flip." Astral would be taken aback.

Jaimie looked over to her. "Are you sure you aren't worried about yourself?"

"My parents already disowned me, if I died, they still have my more successful brothers. I was the unwanted child especially after they found out I was pregnant."

Astrals eyes flared up with anger, but would have to mellow down to keep her calm. "Well, are your parents willing to take you back in if you didn't have the child, putting it up for adoption?" Jaimie asked seeing Astral's temper spike.

"No, they told me it was best if I just died." She spoke with more tears in her eyes then her pupils showing.

Astral would nod to Jaimie and the girl. "So, we will give you medication to induce labor, you are far enough along where it will be safe. Afterwards we can get you into a safe spot with a family that can take both you and your child in."

Siffling she would mutter a quiet thank you as Astral went to grab the medicine to have her give birth. Jaimie would stay and comfort her, pulling up a database on families willing to adopt two kids.

Astral would come back with what he needed as a nurse accompanied him. Jamie found a nice safe family for her and her kid. The nurse would hand her a bottle of water and the medication as Astral threw on his medical covers. Jaimie would sit beside her and comfort the child.

Labor would start as the echoed cries from her would fill the room. Her hand squeezing down on Jaimie's. Astral had the nurse prep what was needed for the baby. However something that he never experienced before happened.

The umbilical cord was wrapped all around the baby. He was shocked it was losing air flow as he had no spot to cut it at without also cutting into the baby. It seemed like the umbilical cord was one with the skin of the child.

Astral would look over. "Jaimie, throw me the scalpel." Without hesitation it would fly at him as he caught it. The nurse and lady were shocked as Astral slowly would cut tiny slits into the umbilical cord wrapped around him. He was cutting between the skin and the cord itself.

Astral had figured it out. With one swift motion he pulled the cord from the baby as it started to cry, Astral and Jaimie would breathe a sigh of relief as the nurse handed over the wrap for the baby.

Thus, the next Astral came into the world, at a hefty ten pounds and full foot tall. Being rested on the chest of his mother he would stop crying. "What would you like to name him?" Astral asked as he signed the birth certificate.

Faintly and exhausted the lady would speak. "Adam." Astral and Jaimie would smile as they both resigned that day to go elsewhere. Getting her to a safe home in the process.

Astral and Jaimie would then settle down and relax as Astral would teach history to the high school, Jaimie would do psychology. Astral watched closely with the government's birds to see that this kid was highly talented at art, but lacked a lot of the physical details that Jaimie has and doesn't show any path to work for it like how he did.

He wondered if it would be worth it to take him in. the abundance of power around him. A special aura was abound to Adam and Astral had no explanation.
