The birth

Mid 10th century

A large scream is heard coming from the middle of the forest. It echos everywhere making even the birds flee. You can see a woman with blond hair in pain and a man with black hair helping her. Surrounding the woman are a variety of basic magical runes and operating them is the man with black hair.

Surrounding the woman are two girls one with black hair like her father and a younger girl with blond hair. The woman screams one more scream and a boy is born right from her.

The woman looks at the boy in confusion as she senses something really weird. She looks at her children and says " kids can you please go play in the woods.

The one with blond hair moves her hand and taps her mother however the mother glares at her leading the girl with black hair to take her sister away.

She looks at her child then at her husband and she says" his magic is plentiful but I can feel that his destiny is to revolutionize the use of runes".

The man proudly looks at her replying with " yes my ancestor created the runes but he was repelled by all the other mages and since then taught the way of runes to his eldest son which passed onto generations.

Each one teaching their son the way of the runes and improving it till our way of runes has become special. This child will create a whole different magic with his rules that is what my gut is telling me". " yes that is why we should give him a boast." Says the women.

She prepares a ritual and prepares the sacrifices while the man forms a rune he has been working on for all his life." my father died getting a prophecy from the oracle and she told him that a descendant of his will bring glory to our family. He told me to begin creating a masterful rune and marry a women of an amazing bloodline to fuse this rune into my child, now is that time."

The woman began chanting over and over as the rune flew into the child and placed itself on his hand and a scream was heard. Blood poured out of his child but the parents watched in satisfaction as their dream was coming true.

The rune would give his child the ability to create more runes a lot easier a much longer life and the ability to absorb any rune he touches keeping the abilities of the rune , finally he got the ability to create any rune he has absorbed with his main rune using the magic of others.

This will all give him a great advantage as they also know that he will have the knowledge to make runes alot stronger and will live for a long time as prophecies are never wrong.

The parents looked at the child and decided on a name instantly it was the name of their ancestor who hailed from england and had the name of the first king of all england. His name was Athelstan . " you are the son of me mikael and Thalia you and will be Called Athel mikaelson the greatest mikaelson".

As he said this Thalia called the children of the boy to come meet their little brother " Dahlia, Esther hurry up come and meet the boy who will bring fame to rune smith ". The little girls hurried up and met their little brother dhalia looking at the kid with curiosity but a hint of jealousy was building up.

The family then goes deeper into the woods and unlock more runes that lead to a massive house made of timber that seem to be a hundred years and packed with magic. The entire manor had a thick scent of magic and was hidden from the rest of the world.

This was the mikaelson ancestral house given to the eldest son. Their family was mikaelson a name not coming from having a father called mikael but a name given to them by Athelstan as he named his bloodline and his child's children after his weak but favorite child mikael.

He held a lot of love to his youngest child that when he died early he decided to stop tradition and name his entire bloodline whether they be his children or his childrens children mikaelson and this even applied to them and the second children.

Anyway the house was made with a lot of runes and magical spells so it could last for eternity and the longer it lasts the stronger the magic in it becomes. With them living here peacefully 10 years comes to pass and athel will meet someone he never expected he would like.
