12 Chapter 12: Ambush [5]

After what seemed a very long staring contest, Keith started to run towards the three goblins with his sword raised over his head.

The three goblins split up when they saw Keith charge towards them.

Keith smiled when he saw the three goblins' strategy and then he started to attack the first goblin.

He swung his sword towards the awaiting goblin who jumped up into the air as it did a front flip to dodge the impending attack.

Keith's eyes widened in shock when he saw the goblin do a front flip to dodge his sword and then he moved away from the goblin before he could be hit.

And that turned out to be a good decision because after he moved away from the goblin another goblin appeared at the place that he was standing at before dodging and the goblin had a short sword in its hand as it struck nothing but air.

The goblin widened its eyes in shock as the target that it wanted to hit was no longer standing in front of it.

The said goblin then moved away from the place that he was standing at and it started to look around at where Keith could have moved to.

The third goblin appeared behind Keith with a club in its hands and it was ready to strike Keith down using it.

But Keith was well aware of the goblin's presence behind him and he also knew about the intentions of the goblin as well.

Keith moved to the side as the goblin swung its club downwards towards Keith's head as it intended to bash Keith to death.

After swiftly dodging the goblin's attack, Keith raised his own weapon and then he swung it towards the goblin that did not have any time to react.

Keith then struck the goblin with his sword as he slashed the goblin in half.

The blade managed to cut through the goblin's body as if it were cutting through mere butter.

The goblin shrieked as it felt the sword cut through it easily.

The two halves of the goblin's body then fell onto the ground motionless as rare looking drop items appeared next to the goblin's dead body.

The goblin's dead body started to disintegrate into nothingness after a few seconds just like the body of its comrade a few minutes ago.

The other two goblins started to scream as they glared daggers at Keith who was smirking like a maniac when he saw the goblins' reaction to him killing their comrades right in front of them.

The two goblins then started to attack Keith simultaneously.

They threw what ever they could find at him in hopes of maybe causing a slight injury or to create an opening.

But unfortunately for these two goblins, everything they did to harm Keith were all futile.

Keith's destructive layer simply destroyed anything that came within its vicinity.

The two goblins then started to spit out their green poisonous and corrosive acidic substance towards Keith's body at a rapid pace.

But even their last ditch effort which they had so desperately used to harm Keith did not have any chance against Keith's destructive layer which just kept on protecting him and his body just by simply destroying the poisonous yet corrosive acidic green substance whenever it came within its vicinity.

Keith quickly got bored and irritated by these simple attacks from the two goblins and then he raised his sword in front of him.

He then took his offensive stance and then he gazed at the two goblins with a gaze that was full of blood thirst.

The two goblins flinched in fear when they saw the murderous glint in Keith's eyes and then they started to retreat.

Keith then quickly activated his skill [Rapid Sword's Strike] and then he started to charge towards the two goblins with a large battle cry.

But in the middle of his charging, he saw a arrow that was shuttling through the air from his peripheral vision, and then he he looked at it.

His eyes widened in shock as he saw that the arrow was aiming for his head.

Keith quickly stopped and then he turned around to face the arrow as quick as he could.

He then rapidly slashed his sword towards the fast approaching arrow.

Just as Keith was rapidly slashing his sword, a lot of air slashes got released from his sword and then they made their way to the fast approaching arrow.

The sword slashes that were made from air quickly shredded the fast approaching arrow into nothing but dust particles.

Just after the fast approaching arrow was turned into nothing but dust particles, a large group of goblins, orcs and ogres started to come out from the bushes and trees in which they were hiding.

The rediculously large group of goblins, orcs and ogres then started to surround Keith.

Keith's eyes then quickly widened in shock as the gears in his head started to turn.

'This is a planned ambush by this large group of goblins, orcs and ogres,' thought Keith as he could help but start to have a bad feeling rise up in his chest.

[Yeah it seems like it.] - said the system with an ominous tone in its robotic voice.

'And I fell into their trap, damn it,' cursed Keith in his head.

[Do not worry too much about it host.] - said the system with a assuring tone its robotic voice as it spoke to Keith to try to calm him down.

'Nah, I should have known from the start that this was a planned ambush,' said Keith to the system with a bitter tone in his voice.

[People often do make mistakes,it is a part of human nature. So do not beat yourself down about this matter.] - said the system in a calm tone in its robotic voice as it tried to reassure Keith that everything was going to be alright.

'You do not get it ! The goblin race are never alone or in small groups. They always attack in large numbers, so when I saw that small group of goblins I should have guessed that there were more goblins hiding,' explained Keith with a somber expression on his face.

The system listened to his explanation and it could not help but curse and laugh heartily at Keith's stupidity.

[Hahaha, so you knew about it but you never thought that it could happen to you ?] - asked the system as it laughed at Keith's stupidity.

'Man shut up ! I am not in the mood for your stupid taunts right now,' said Keith with an irritated tone in his voice and an equally irritated expression on his face.

'I need to come up with a plan, and quickly at that,' said Keith with a pondering expression on his face.

[You do not have to worry that much about it host. Remember, your destructive layer that is covering your body can just simply destroy anything that comes into contact with it.] - said the system with a very knowledgeable tone in its robotic voice as it gave Keith an idea on how to tackle this obstacle that was in front of him.

'Yes I know, but what about weapons and physical attacks ? They can still harm me,' said Keith with a slightly worried tone in his voice as he furrowed his brows in disappointment.

[You seem to not understand the meaning of the term "ANYTHING". So I will enlightened you with the meaning of the term as well as what it implies.] - said the system with a slightly sarcastic tone in its robotic voice as it started to "enlighten" Keith on what the term "anything" implies.

[The term ANYTHING implies that no matter WHAT the opponent uses to attack you, it will NOT have ANY effect on you or your body because it will be ERASED from existence as soon as it comes into contact with your your destructive aura.] - said the system with a very knowledgeable tone in its robotic voice as it explained to Keith, what the term "anything" implies.

[So ... do you get it now my naive host ?] - asked the system with a sarcastic tone in its robotic voice which irritated Keith to no end.

'But -,' was all that Keith was able to say before he got interrupted by the irritating system.

[No ifs, no buts, no coconuts !] - said the system as it interrupted Keith when he was about to say something.

[Listen, all you have to do is simply increase your destructive aura's destructive capability and you will be alright.] - said the system as a final encouragement for Keith to stop worrying and to just start fighting.

'Okay, I will listen to your advice just this one time,' said Keith as he started to concentrate on his destructive aura to increase its destructive capability.

After increasing his destructive aura's destructive capability, Keith took out his other sword [The Sword Of The Devourer] from his Item Box and then he raised both of his swords in a defensive stance as he looked at the large group of goblins, orcs and ogres that were standing in front of him.

Keith smiled in excitement as an equally excited expression marked his face as he got himself ready to start attacking these wild beasts that were surrounding him from all angles.
