Lady Ivy

The last thing I remembered was Jack's laugh as I fell to my death. That m f actually betrayed me. How? Why? I mean, I knew that something was up with him, but betrayal?

My head was killing me. It was aching so bad, and the ringing in my ears wouldn't stop. I thought you didn't feel pain when you died. Well, I guess that was wrong.

"Oh my gosh, did she really push Lady Irene off the second floor and jump off after her?" I heard a female voice speak from a distance. What's this? Do the gods discuss people's deaths after they die? I wonder what they'll say about me, a killer who got killed by her partner in crime. I can't even help but laugh at my own tragic but hilarious end.

"It's fortunate that Sir Maxwell was there to catch Lady Irene." "I can't even start to imagine what would have happened to the poor girl." another female voice spoke. So, wait, Lady Irene didn't die? Then why are they talking about her? Are they that bored?

"So, what will happen to Lady Ivy?" another timid female voice asked. "Who cares? That vile woman is lucky enough to have survived that fall," said the first voice. You could tell from her voice just how much she despised this, Lady Ivy.

Okay, let me get this straight, Lady Irene and Lady Ivy both didn't die? Wait a minute, something doesn't feel right. Are these really the stories the gods share among themselves?

Just as the story was getting interesting, the ringing in my ears increased, then memories I knew didn't belong to me started flooding my brain. Memories of a young lady from a prestigious noble family who happens to share the same name as me.

Lady Ivy

Lady Ivy was the youngest and only daughter of Count Ravenshield, who had four children. House Ravenshield was known for their exceptional skills in combat magic. They produced the best knights throughout the kingdom, it didn't matter whether they were born male or female. As long as they held the name Ravenshield, they would have exceptional skills.

Well, that was before Ivy was born. The only Ravenshield who didn't show any attributes of magic whatsoever. Not only did she not have magical attributes, but her mother also died giving birth to her. All reasons for Count Ravenshield to not like her.

That's right, Lady Ivy was despised by her own father. He blamed her for the death of his beloved wife, and for bringing shame to the Ravenshield name by not having any attributes of magic. He would avoid her like the plague and never looked at her lovingly, not even once.

She had three elder brothers but only the eldest showed her love and care, but he was always on the battlefield and rarely home. Her other two brothers made it their life's purpose to constantly remind her that she's useless and that she's the reason why they all don't have a mother.

The Lady Irene she was being accused of pushing was the daughter of the Count's second wife, Lady Victoria Vitae. Lady Vitae was the cousin of Lady Crystal Vitae, Ivy's mum.

Being a widow herself, House Vitae suggested that Count Ravenshield take her as his wife and her daughter as his child. Of which he did.

He actually loved Irene even more than he did his own daughter, Ivy.

Why? You may ask.

Well, it's because, unlike his "useless" daughter, Irene actually had the magical attributes of house Vitae, which specialized in healing blood related problems like poisoning or diseases like anemia. This made Ivy jealous of Irene and do all sorts of bad things to her.

"I heard the prince will still be going through with the wedding." I heard one of the female voices say as soon as the memories stopped flashing.

Oh, right, Ivy is engaged to the crown prince. And the reason she's being accused of pushing Lady Irene off the building is because the prince loves Irene and not her. And the worst part is, he wasn't even discrete about it.

The truth is, Irene jumped off the building on her own and pulled Ivy along. But of course, no one would believe that the sweet and soft Irene would do such a thing. Everyone would rather believe that the vile and rude Ivy did it. I'm sure that's what she was hoping for.

And personally, I don't feel like clearing up her name. I mean what does it have to do with me? I'm still trying to figure out how I'm still alive.

...

I slowly opened my eyes. Big mistake, because the room I was in was so brightly lit, you'd think I actually made it to heaven.

After some time, my eyes finally adjusted to the light. As my vision cleared, I took in the room.

It was a chamber fit for a noble, everything about it screamed 'NOBLE!" "ELITE!" and "RICH! WEALTH". The walls were covered in elaborate tapestries depicting different types of flowers, a stone fireplace stood against one wall, its hearth crackling with warmth. Near the window, a mahogany writing desk held an inkwell, quills, and parchment.

Hanging from the ceiling, a crystal chandelier that looked like falling icicles. The windows were dressed in floor-length silk curtains, their hue a blend of midnight blue and silver.

The room screamed wealth. The question is, what the hell am I doing in such a luxurious room? This actually feels like heaven. This makes me even more curious, like where the hell am I?

"She's awake, someone call the physician." I heard the timid voice say. "How long do you think she's been awake for? Do you think she heard us?" I heard the other female voice whisper. I turned to where the voices were coming from.

Three unfamiliar yet familiar faces stood by the bedside dressed in beautiful silk dresses and three other faces dressed in maid's uniforms. Even though I sure as hell knew that I had never seen these faces before, I knew who they were.

The three ladies that were talking about Ivy were her friends.

"Lady Ivy, how are you feeling? Anya has gone to call the physician." said a lady I recognized as Lady Isabeau Emberheart from House Emberheart, a house of fire mages. Also, the first female voice I heard.

The other voice was Lady Isolde Ravenscroft from house Ravenscroft, a house that specializes in the study of weather. The timid voice was Lady Lysandra Moonfire, from a house of healers.

".... are you feeling?" Lady Lysandra asked. Oh, wait, she was talking to me?

What's happening? Am I somehow in Lady Ivy's body? How, why, is it even possible?
