Grievances

Ren Ye didn't react as strongly as he had expected but rather he kept his expression calm and steady, facing Jing Xue. He lowered his head and casually shot a glance at Ren Jia before raising it to stare at Jing Xue's face.

"Back then, you didn't even mutter a word about my pregnancy. I thought you knew about it," Jing Xue chuckled self-deprecatingly, never taking her eyes off Ren Ye.

"I prefer not to know about it," Ren Ye mumbled audibly, he didn't think it would benefit him considering he was on the edge of his own doom at that time. 

Knowing about the child's father wouldn't have stopped him from doing whatever he wanted. 

  Jing Xue was disappointed but she didn't express herself, she chose to let her hand fall down from his face and land on his chest, caressing the spot above his heart with complexity on her face.

The spot was the area where he was shot and wounded.

"What a shame, you were pretty desperate to die and leave me behind."
