1 Assassin's Life

Well, time for another painful day, a monday to be specific.

Th-that reminds me, I have to get ready for school!

My name is Ayame Tanaka, and I go to Abeno Kōkō (High school). Surprisingly, I'm the leader of the gang 'Bloody Moon' and also a part-time assassin. Most people in my school dont know because I have the image of an ideal person when I'm in school, with perfect marks in all subjects.

Some people think I'm perfect, beautiful, and just a person people want to be like. In other words, the complete opposite of a gang leader. My best friend Himari Sato has a pretty bad reputation. They know she's a part of the Bloody Moon gang, but they don't know that she's an assassin with me!

We decided to get jobs as assassins, we thought it'd be good money and a good way to kill bad people.

"Yo Ayame!"

I feel like she's going to make my ears bleed, she's always annoyingly loud.

"Morin' Sato!"

Hehe she hates it when I call her by her last name. Now that I think about it she's probably gonna scold me for it...

"WHY?!"

I knew it.

"What, can I not call you Sato, Ari-Chan?"

I'm still trying to hold back my laughter because everyone will think that I'm a psychopath!

(Can't ruin my reputation, of course!)

"Ayame, What do I need to do to get through to you to not call me Sato," she whispers to me, as her face slowly draws closer to mine.

W-Why is my heart beating so fast? Why am I starting to blush?!

Ba-Dum, Ba-Dum. (Doki-doki)

I need to push her away before I start turning red, that would be so embarrassing!

"Huh, why should I stop calling you Sato?! Fine I will, but don't FU--…"

I need to take a short pause before I lose my temper.

I walk closer to her as I whisper, "You do know I'm boss... RIGHT?! Now meet me on the courtyard at lunch."

Normally I'd stay calm and not lash out like that, I can turn cold easily.

"Yes, Boss..."

She looked scared, maybe it's because I'm stronger than her.

"Now you can call me that or Ayame and even Tanaka. But if someone tries to beat you up…" said I as I moved my lips to her ear, "I'll beat the sh*t out of them for you."

I forced a slight smile out, but I'm guessing that I still looked cold.

*Ding Dong*

The first bell rang, perfect timing.

I'm in math and we have a pop quiz, I wonder how good Himari is doing.

She had better pass!

I glare at Himari, mouthing, "You'd better pass," but I know she'll do fine.

~ten minutes later~

As usual, I'm the first one done! I'll go give it to the teacher then.

~five more minutes pass~

IS THAT HIMARI-CHAN?!

She's done, the second person!

I start smiling unconsciously at her, giving her that thumbs up look.

"Ahem! Two students got 100% on the quizzes. Ayame Tanaka and Himari Sato. You may all leave now," announced the teacher robotically.

Ugh, that class was tiring.

I hate pop quizzes!

Next class is history, where we are learning about ancient China. We're watching a documentary on it, blah blah this, and blah blah that. But on the bright side of things at least I can get some sleep!

Lunch! I get to eat with Ari-Chan in the courtyard.
