Chapter 002: Questions

"How can you be sure it was her?" he asked. Everything was starting to make sense now. He hadn't just ran into some random assassin by chance, he had met the infamous assassin of Ashville, White Wolf. "Huh? Oh, uh, she always leaves a Pansy in a pool of her victims' blood, and there was one near our parents'... bodies... why do you ask?" Sakura said. She was a bit hesitant, and it was clear that she was still finding it hard to believe that their parents were dead. "Oh! Uh... I was just... curious! Yeah, I was curious as to how you knew it was her." One of the men who were in the room, who he quickly recognized to be an officer, walked over to him and said, "Hello, I'm Officer Hisashi. I know this must be hard for you, but, did you see anything that happened during your parents murder? For example, any recognizable features of their killer?" the officer asked. "Nope. My parents told me to take a walk and to stay out for at least an hour, so I did. Their murder happened during that time period. Sorry that I can't be of any help, officer." he told Officer Hisashi. "That's alright. That information alone helps a lot. You said your parents told you to take a walk and even told you to stay out for an hour? Do you think they might have known that this was going to happen?" the officer asked him. "No. My parents promised to tell me what was going on when I got back, so they couldn't have known." he said, he was trying to be as careful as possible while answering, he couldn't let anyone find out that he could actually describe the killer in detail, down to her emerald green eyes, he refused to get anyone else involved. "Is it possible that they just said that so that you would follow their instructions?" he asked. "No. My parents may have been a lot of things, but they weren't liars." at this point, Ren decided the officer was asking too many questions, so he also said, "I'm awfully tired, so I think I'll head to my room, if that's alright?" "Oh! Yes, of course, this must all be very overwhelming." Officer Hisashi said. Ren then quickly went up the stairs. In reality, he doubted he would be able to get any sleep at all, considering the fact that he had nearly been The White Wolf's most recent victim. Once he entered his room, he sat on his bed and decided to think about what he would do the next day. If he didn't go, White Wolf would find and kill him, but if he did go, what would stop her from killing him then? He would just have to be extra careful to ensure she didn't kill him. He... just... had... to... be... careful... He fell asleep after thinking that last word. He needed to rest, anyway. Being careful wouldn't do him any good if he was too tired to think straight.
