1 Intruder at Night

It was already dark yet HeeQiao was still working on her client's place as a nanny. She has been working there for two months, but always at night. When the clock ticks 9 then it would be the time to dismiss. HeeQiao has needed to work even though it's not safe especially for women, when working at night. Fortunately, her boss was a kind business man. He dismissed her earlier than stated in the contract.

HeeQiao was currently cooing the child, who was crying, tearing her eardrums. She was used to it, and HeeQiao did everything to make the child stop from crying. Not until the door suddenly creaked, going back and forth. She fixed her gaze at the creaky door, and observed if there's an intruder. Swiftly, a cat sprang inside that caused surprise. On the other hand, HeeQiao was relieved that it wasn't an intruder. She continued to lull the child in her arms, but was unaware that a knife was pointed at her throat.

"Don't move or else your throat will be instantly slashed." he uttered affirmingly.

HeeQiao's eyes were quivering, the thoughts were wheeling around her head. 'Is this where my life ends?' she feared.

The man in shadows gripped HeeQiao's clothes, causing the child to wail again. This time, the securities were alerted and rushed to the child's room. Inspecting the room, they found no dangerous thing. Only the child was left, along with the nanny who was slightly shivering. The guard came to ask her if there's something wrong, but she admitted with a nod, "No sir. The young master was usually crying again." The guard was about to shut the door when HeeQiao approached the man with the child in her arms. "Sir, could you please watch young master for me? I need to go to the restroom. It will be quick." The guard agreed and took young master carefully into his arms. "Take your time." Shutting the door carefully not to wake young master.

HeeQiao shunted her head towards the man. "What do you need?" It was few inches away, the knife poised on her throat. She was showing no signs of fear as HeeQiao thought it would only make the situation worse.

"That kid."

HeeQiao was remained steady until the man withdrew the knife. "W-why do you need young master?" Fixing her gaze. HeeQiao was buying herself a time until the help comes. Smartly, she put a note stuffed on the child's clothes and she believed that it would be noticed by the guard. It was only a minute since the guards left, so she needs more time to distract the man. Although her life was on the line, HeeQiao chose to save young master as well as to catch the intruder alive.

"I don't need the child for myself. It was for my client." he shot her a suspecting look. "Nonetheless, your tactic is very impressive but it was no use." the lunged out of the window when he heard the footsteps nearing the room. HeeQiao was left unmoved and fell silent after the man had read her thoughts correctly.

"Miss HeeQiao!" the guard bursts in the room.

"It's fine now. I managed to blow the man." curling his lips in fear.
